Originally purchased as a hardtop coupe the owner then decided to convert the car into a one-off power top convertible. The conversion was done professionally; most likely a Stramann conversion, but we do not have any information to confirm. This 560SEC came fully loaded with 8-way power and heated seats, optional side airbags, ABS, optional automatic climate control, and many more conveniences. Powered by a potent 5.5L 16 valve V-8 engine that makes more than enough torque to impress other motorists; paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission that is extremely smooth. The US market cars came standard with Mercedes self-leveling hydroneumatic rear suspension, as well as, a cruise control system that used the transmission’s topographical sensor to limit excessive throttle inputs. This 560SEC is truly something special, the only convertible with 10,xxx miles known to exist. The car is painted in Mercedes deep black metallic paint that has only minor flaws, but otherwise shows extremely well. Body panels are straight and show no signs of any damage. The custom power convertible top fits very well and gives the car a very unique profile. It fits well and has no signs that it wasn’t originally from Mercedes-Benz factory.
