2005 Mercedes SL500 This 2005 Mercede SL500 is a three-owner San Diego car with 52,000 original miles. Always garaged the paint on this SL500 shines like new. All maintenance is up to date and the car starts and drives exactly like it should. Everything works on this Mercedes. The top operates flawlessly. The ABC pump was recently replaced. If you know anything about these cars, you know what that means. All maintenance is up to date and was taken care of while the ABC pump was being replaced, including new front brakes and rotors. The tires are newer Michelin Pilot Sports with about 5,000 miles on them. This SL500 recently passed the stringent California smog test, so you know that it’s firing on all cylinders. The car will crank but will not start without using a fuel bottle We drained the tank but think we have a relay out or a bad Fuel Pump. It will fire off and run if you hook a bottle with fuel in it. It just won’t pump the fuel up from the tank. This is the main issue that I know of with the car. make sure and watch the video below, I go thru the whole car and show you anything and everything about it. Its Very clean on the interior and Faded on the outside as you will see in the Video. Has a fuel delivery issue. Some of the rubberized undercoating is coming off. Paint on hood is dry and faded along with other spots too. So spots on the paint is checkering. Misc dings and chips/scratches. Back passenger quarter has a scrape/ding. Corrosion on the chrome wheels. Missing a lug nut on 2 different wheels. Little corrosion on doors by the rubber trim pieces. Wood on ashtray need glued back on. Excess tape residue on drives side. Carpet is faded a little. Driver’s seat is a little worn. Needs tires. I really like these Grey Market Cars that were custom ordered and shipped here from Germany. It will crack over and will run with some fuel but then dies after a minute or two. The exterior of this car is beautiful. The White Paint looks pretty good. I do believe that the front end has been repainted. The clear coat is peeling in a few spots as you will see in the video. The body on this car looks so cool with the Euro Bumpers. It gives it more character and does make it stand out a little more than the others..;-) These little two door cars have a very sporty feel to them and handle like a dream. All of the Chrome is in Great Shape and shines beautifully in the sun. The wheel wells still have the Original Factory Undercoating. Mercedes Bunt Wheels. Cooper Lifeliner Tires on Front lots of tread and little tittes on the sides, Pireli P4000 on back have a little dry rot and should be replacedOptions:Automatic Euro Cloth Interior Power Windows Vacuum Locks Sun Roof Factory Air Conditioning The Interior is clean and the Euro Clothe Interior will need to be done at some point but the seats still have lots of cushion and spring left in them. The carpet is pretty clean, there are a couple of stains that will clean up with a good shampooing. They're wrong. No, the SL65 doesn't have too much power. After you drive the SL65, every car will feel underpowered. And making other cars feel anemic is exactly the goal of a global horsepower race. So with the SL65, Mercedes has removed a glove and slapped the face of the entire industry and issued a very big challenge. Admittedly, there are cars with more horsepower, and there are cars with better power-to-weight ratios. Two of them are the Ferrari Enzo and the Porsche Carrera GT, but those sex kittens can't touch the torque offering of the SL65, and more important, they aren't cars that can be used daily as easily as can the SL65, which is no more difficult to drive every day as the half-as-expensive, half-as-powerful SL500. There are a few things that make the SL65 worth the extra $90,800 over an SL500, one of which is the twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V-12, a 467cc-larger version of the engine in the SL600. Another is the defeated look on the faces of SL500 owners when they read the SL65 badge. Their day is shot. They'll probably just go home and kick the dog, because up until that moment they thought they were Hugh Hefner. The SL65 has the full AMG treatment, it gets a more aggressive body kit that includes a front bumper with a wider mouth that accommodates larger intercoolers. There is also a rich, deep-throated free-flowing exhaust that actually sounds like a turbocharged V-12. Further tweaks add larger two-piece 19-inch wheels filled by 15.4-inch rotors clamped by enormous eight-piston calipers up front and 14.2-inch rotors with four-piston calipers doing the squeezing in back.
