The Stealership will charge you over $2000 to repair, but they will replace the intake manifold with another identical one made out of the same cheap plastic, so it too will eventually break! I have replaced the cheap plastic center vacuum rod and the triangular shaped actuator lever with aftermarket metal parts, which will NEVER ever break! Plus they come with a lifetime warranty!!!(see last pic) Mercedes doesn't give that! *Furthermore, if you know about Mercedes engines, BUT more importantly if you do not...they also have balance shaft issues, which can cost $4k-$7 to fix due to the tremendous amount of labor! There was a class action lawsuit against MB and a settlement, but the now case is closed and no further claims can be made. If this happened to you now, there'd be no financial assistance. The effected Mercedes are all models with the M272 and 273 engines from model years 2003-2008. *However, if the car's engine serial number is higher than 272972 30 468993, then your vehicle has the updated parts, and does not fall into the affected category. The engine serial number for this car is 272972 30 621033, so it was made after the bad parts, so you won't have to worry about that nightmare! Please feel free to look this info up on Google or on Mercedes Benz websites. I am not making any of it up, just trying to be honest and up front. If you are in the market for a used Mercedes Benz and decide to go with a cheaper one, you will most likely be setting yourself up for thousands in costly future repairs. And if you spend thousands more at a used dealership, that doesn't necessarily guarantee you will get a better car, it only guarantees that you will have spent more. I have taken the time and expense to make this vehicle a much better one. It is very fairly priced considering all the work I have done. I have all the receipts for everything I have put into it. I only have one key though, and I am using the car occasionally so the mileage will be going up slightly. With proper care and maintenance, and good quality synthetic oil changes, Mercedes Benz can almost go forever! Many easily do 250,000 miles or more. This has nothing to do with the function of the parking brake itself, it holds the car perfectly and disengages fully, it's just about the pedal itself. Very common issue with W203 models- Front passenger seatbelt sensor sometimes signals seatbelt needs to be fastened even though nobody is in the front seat. In this case you can buckle the seatbelt and the signal stops. No issue if there is a passenger in the seat. The airbag sensor works fine and turns the airbag on/off appropriately with seat occupancy regardless of the seatbelt signal issue.- a few minor scrapes and chips in the paint here and there. In line with what you would expect from a 2005 model.- Drivers carpet has some stains and floor mats could probably stand a refresh This is a great, great car; fun yet economical, reliable and very solidly built.
