1991 Mercedes-Benz 300eThis car has been quite the journey. I bought this MB 300e on eBay October 2014. I looked at the pictures and contacted the seller and asked questions. The seller explained that they had a new transmission seal installed before storing the car for the winter and when they went to pull the car out of storage there was a huge puddle of transmission fluid under the car. I made the seller an offer and ended up purchasing the car. I was told by the seller that the car ran perfect before this issue. After getting the car back and checking it over I got it running. Other than the typical high mileage lifter tick that most of these cars have it sounded good. Now for the fun stuff! I added fluid to the transmission and it was leaking badly. So we pulled the transmission and found that the repair shop broke the transmission case. I bought a rebuilt transmission and installed it. That part is now resolved. I then did a full tune up and checked the fuel pressure and found that one of the fuel pumps was weak. So I flushed the fuel tank and installed two new fuel pumps and a fuel regulator and fuel filter. Fixed that problem. The cars electrics were acting funny so I did some research and found that if you jump these cars there is a circuit breaker that goes bad and causes electrical problems and sure enough it was bad so I installed a new one plus a new voltage regulator and a new battery. Another problem solved. Next I installed brand new shocks and struts plus four new 50,000 mile tires. Oh I forgot new front brake pads. The next issue the air conditioning did not work. After inspection I found that a seal was leaking so it was replaced and the air conditioning was recharged. This car has climate control which works perfect and now the air conditioning blows in the forty's and the heat will bake you. While testing the air conditioning I found that one of the auxiliary cooling fans was not working so I bought and installed two new ones. The exhaust system was bad so I installed a new one from the converter back. The first pipe and muffler are factory. I decided to install a performance stainless steel muffler on the rear section. It is a little louder than I like but the kids think it's cool. The wheels and emblems are plastic dipped and can be peeled off. Also the graphics can be removed. The third brake light is a skull that eyes light up. The original cracked from years of summer heat. Every one I have found used has the same cracking issue. The interior is fair but the front seat bottoms are bad. I have another set that needs recovered. The front seat backs were replaced with used ones. After all this I have driven over 15,000 miles without issue. It has always started and has never let me down and gets 25 mpg. The only reason I am selling this car is that I have been looking for a Volvo 850 and finally found a great deal on one. The car has a few minor issues. The cruise works when it wants to. Passenger rear window is the same. The bulb out light is on because I have LED tail lights installed. When it is cold the SRS light goes on and off. I am told it is a sensor and none of these issues effect the way the car performs. The paint is OK but is far from perfect. Also the car comes with a trunk full of new and used parts. krichesond Store This is the legendary Mercedes-Benz OM617 3.0L turbocharged diesel engine inside of the w123 coupé chassis. 1985 was the last year that these mid-sized luxury supercars were produced. The engine has excellent compression after reaching the 500km milestone, and we can attribute this to exceptional maintenance over the 30 years that it's been on the road. I have started the application process to register this car for it's impressive mileage status. Paint is silver paired with the blue interior featuring MB-tex (thick gauge vinyl) seats. I bought the car six years ago and it's been my driver since. I've done oil and spin-on fuel filter changes every 10,000 miles and inline filter changes more frequently. In 2009 I had some front end components replaced as needed. I had the fuel return lines replaced due to a leak and had the valves adjusted with a new cover seal at this time as well. In 2011 the brake pads and rotors were replaced, one front caliper replaced and the other three were rebuilt. Radiator flush and transmission fluid change (but not filter). In 2012 the entire exhaust system was replaced from manifold to tail pipe, and the blower motor was replaced with new unit for the climate control. In 2013 the battery was replaced for the winter along with a couple of weak/defective glow plugs. Since then I have been spending a lot of time abroad and the car has seen less use. Updates for 2015 are a full set of new touring tires, a new outer tie rod, front end alignment, and essential fluid and filter changes at 325k. The trunk is loaded with extras. Extra fluids, a hydraulic floor jack and customized wheel lug wrench, a spotlight, jumper cables, rope, bungees, funnels, a gas can, various replacement bulbs, lubricants, five unused Bosch glow plugs, feeler gauges and specialty valve adjustment wrenches with a brand new cover gasket for next valve adjustment, various hoses, various ties and clamps, an assortment of fuses, the original tool kit, a full size matching bundt wheel, the longest extension cord I could find (for cold weather block heater situations) and spare factory keys, and even a spare ignition switch tumbler with spare keys. Automotive repair manual and the original owner's manual and maintenance booklet with documentation through 2005 (267k).The interior is immaculate except for some typical cracks on the top of the dash. The odometer works perfectly well because the trip has not been reset while driving. The floor carpet has never seen feet in 30 years thanks to all-weather rubber floor mats. The MB-tex is amazingly intact, with a small tear starting on the upper half of the driver's seat (which is still as springy and comfortable as the day it was made). The glass is nice, but there are some scratches on the door windows from operators forgetting to drop the back windows first. It's a very clean car. The original Becker is still installed but I can't seem to stop it from scanning when I turn it on, so I'll include a CD player on request if you would like to switch it. The speakers are original, and seem to all work. The Hirschmann power antennae will need to be rebuilt with a new mast to function perfectly. The sunroof works and all five power windows are functional. I have left some scheduled maintenance up for negotiation. I am willing to perform the following mechanical updates with a BuyItNow purchase after the deposit has cleared:1. I will replace the brittle D/S rear axle boot that begins to leak. If you don't plan to take the car far from Columbus Ohio, you can drive it home and replace them yourself. If you want to drive the car a long distance, I would not recommend doing this without making the repair first, because this becomes an expensive repair if the axle is ruined by being driven hard and dry. 2. I will test the glow plugs and replace any weak units, and do a valve adjustment and cover gasket replacement. Again, something you could save money and do yourself if you are handy, and for this routine I've already procured high grade (Bosch,etc.) components to complete. It's not as immediate as the axle issue, but it's a good idea to do this before winter for smooth driving and reliable cold starting.For a winning bid under the BuyItNow price, the car is sold as-is, where is, and must be picked up in person or by a transporter before the month ends. You are welcome to repair the axle on the car upon pick up, after which I have no doubts that it would make it safely across the country. Youre looking at a great Mercedes 300d. Overall runs and drives well and the interior is incredible. Really cruises smoothly. Recent quality repaint. Hi this is my historic and beautiful Mercedes 380SL convertible with a matching hardtop. This car is originally from Daytona Beach and has been well cared for. 137000 actual miles with brilliant silver paint and a black interior with the Zebrano wood trim. Has the matching black Mercedes floor mats. The seats are in great shape no cuts or tears. Has a double pin stripe as well. Original AC works and is coldI just brought it out of the garage for the winter and it is a blast to drive. Original radio works as well as the power antenna. Both windows work. Odometer works and is accurate, car has 137,000 real miles. Clock works as well. Has the original manual, spare tire, jack, tools, and the matching silver hardtop. The hardtop is original and in excellent condition the headliner is not sagging or stained, paint and glass is nice and defroster works. Car has Mercedes service sticker from 67000 miles. I would rate this car a 3 on the Hagerty guide which is roughly a $9200. The soft top on the car is dark blue and the rear windows are perfect and clear not cut, cracked or scratched. The soft top is water tight and looks great no dry rot or tears. This is not the original top it was replaced a few years ago. Has new wipers and the wipers work as well as the windshield washer. All glass is good as well no scratches or cracks. Newer brakes as well.Car runs great shifts smooth and the V8 does not disappoint you. The chrome looks fantastic and it shines. This is a every day driver not a project, you could do a few minor touch ups to make the car cosmetically perfect but that does not affect its drive ability. This is a very nice 380SL it is very clean and one of the nicest I have seen. All the running lights work as well as the windows and turn signals. The car has had the double timing chain service done as well. I have it registered with historical plates, car is kept in the garage. I can send more pics of anything else you would like to see on this car. It is a clean original survivor car, the miles will increase a little as i drive it as often as i can. Pending your location, region and time of year, shipping times are estimates and can change due to weather and unforeseen issues with equipment. Most vehicles arrive in 7 to 10 days but times are never guaranteed. Title Handling: For the purpose of these Terms and Conditions, Title means any official document that serves as proof of ownership. Titles will be processed in the name that appears on our returned title packet and surrendered upon full payment. In the event that your auto is being shipped, title will be mailed to the address reflected on the signed paperwork work located in the title packet via certified mail. Should you elect to personally pick up your vehicle, please ensure you have a scheduled appointment and your title packet has been returned with your full payment. We are NOT liable for lost or misplaced titles. In the event that you lose or misplace your title, we can assist in applying and sending you a duplicate title. The fee for this service is $75 to cover state fees and overnight costs. Service Contracts/Warranties: In the event your vehicle falls under the pre-determined allotted time and or miles for the factory warranty, it is the buyer’s responsibility to verify the warranty through the manufacture. All vehicles regardless of age, condition or price sold here are sold 100% as is where is with no warranty expressed or implied. All warranties are strictly through either the manufacturer (if applicable) or by a third party referred to herein as service contracts. All buyers have the opportunity to purchase an additional third party service contract. These contracts are serviceable nationwide and can be tailored to meet any customers need. Service Contracts (warranties) range in duration and term from 3 month or 3000 miles to 36 month unlimited miles. Most carry a very small deductible and clients can take to any repair shop of their choice for repairs. Terms and exclusions may apply so be sure to call and speak with a sales rep for full information. Any and all costs associated with this service will be paid for by seller in the hopes of reaching a positive resolution should one arise. Should litigation occur, the venue to govern any dispute will be held in the state of Ohio, County of Fairfield/Franklin.
