This Mercedes W123 300CD Turbo-Diesel Coupe with OM617 Turbo-Diesel Motor has only 160k original miles. It's the Federal version (non-CA), so it has the standard air setup but still has the highly sought-after 2.88 geared rear differential. The body is in incredible shape with almost no visible damage to any of the body panels. In addition to the obvious need for a paint job, most of the body seals are dried and cracked and in need of replacement. The interior is in great shape. Nearly perfect dash, great front seats, even the carpets are pretty nice. The rear seat side panels are cracked along the top and were covered with a strip of matching vinyl. The rear seats are dried along the top but may be repairable. See photos for details. This car sat for about 10 years (hence the low mileage), but it didn't take much to get it started again. The OM617 turbo-diesel motor runs great and has almost no blowby. The compression test came back great: 400 in the first four cylinders and 380 in the fifth. You can see a video of the motor running, as well as many additional photos, if you click here. It smokes a little more than ideal, but based on our experience and the improvement we've seen with this motor already, we're confident it will keep running better with some hard driving and successive oil changes. The automatic transmission shifts as it should, the steering is tight, the suspension is smooth. We've driven it about 150 miles and fixed a few things here and there, but would highly recommend additional diagnostic and maintenance servicing before making this a daily driver. It could generally use some more fluids & filters changed, and more road testing may highlight some additional needed repairs to the typical wearable maintenance items. There's issues with some of the typical accessory systems that we haven't gone into yet (power windows, sunroof, locks, cruise control). Overall, it's a great starting point for a real head-turner, a fantastic project for a DIY mechanic.

Car has had one previous owner and she kept the car in the garage, undercover for most of its life. I bought it two and half years ago when it had 69,000 miles. Now it has about 85,700. The car has never been in an accident and the interior and exterior are extremely well maintained. The car has a new transmission with a 2-year warranty, and a new radiator. The car has leak on one of the gaskets, which is being closely watched by my mechanic. He says that the car has a few months or more left before the gasket will have to be replaced. Replacement is about $1,400, but if you are able to do it yourself, it would be half that price. Other than that, the car runs great. Original Mercedes wheels are included in sale. I am looking for $5,000. Call or text if you are interested. 541-337-6070

Today i am selling my 1984 Mercedes 300CD turbo diesel coupe .Mercedes made these legendary cars from 1978 until 1985 , but only for the last 4 years with the turbo version . The 123 series cars are known to be the most reliable and enduring cars Mercedes ever produced . You often find them with 500k miles and still running well . This particular car was finished in burgundy with tan interior . Since this car only has 290k miles on it , the interior is also still in great condition . The seats are still firm and in good condition with one small tear on drivers seat on the side. Based on fading of paint and condition of the vehicle Hagerty Price Guide would put it in condition #4. The average pricing/value for condition #4 is roughly $5,900. Therefore, I am asking this amount OBO. Please call 503-593-3337. Buyer is responsible for funding and shipping costs.
