1971 Mercedes Benz 300SEL 6.3 sedan, DB350 Blue with 255 parchment leather, S/N 10901812004764, M100 6.3 litre V8 engine, floor shift automatic transmission, factory sunroof, air suspension. This project is not our daily cup-of-tea but we had to buy it to get another car we really wanted. The air suspension stays up overnight and longer, the 6.3 runs, drives and stops, the sunroof operates, the paint is older and in average condition and as you can see, the exterior trim and interior needs to go back in. We have not taken an inventory of parts, and won’t, so what you see is what you get. We do notice that there are no door panels amongst all the trim pieces. The 6.3 of course is sold as-is-where-is with no warranty. Please send an inspector to answer any of your detailed questions. Some cars are just transportation to some people. Some are really more than that. This is one car that is more than all the others. It is the legendary W124 chassis Mercedes Benz 300E with 2.6 engine. Known by collectors as the last of best Mercedes ever made. Prior to my ownership, this exceptional car had two owners from the same family, one in North Carolina and the other in Virginia. This car has always been meticulously cared for in its servicing, and has been always given garage treatment. It shows like a new car, look at the pictures, this vehicle is stunning. I have all of the archives of this vehicle since new including service records, factory maintenance book, receipts for service, and the actual factory window sticker since new. Synthetic oil has been used for the lifetime of this vehicle and no corners were cut on maintaining this car. Everything on this car is functioning properly including cold A/C. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere, including across the country. The major areas that have been addressed on this car which are typical for the W124 chassis are: cylinder head rebuild including valves, timing chain replacement, front suspension and steering components are new, new Bilstein Comfort shocks all around. It truly drives like a new car, and has many many miles left in her if maintained properly. This vehicle is provided with no warranty either expressed or implied by the seller. This Mercedes is converted to run on vegetable oil. Has a two tank system that was professionally installed. The tank and valves are Greasecar components. The car starts on diesel and is switched to vegetable oil when the engine reaches operating temperature. There is a heating coil located inside the fuel tank for cold weather operation. The car runs and starts very well. Needs parking brake to be fixed and has some noise from the front suspension over bumps. Also available to local buyers is: 250 plastic tote (for oil storage), 80 gallon water heater (for filtering oil), two 60 gallon plastic drums (for storing unfiltered oil), fabricated funnel (for screening oil), 12 volt electric gear pump (for transferring oil from tote to car), bag filters (for final filtering), and extra oil to get started!
