In case you don't already know, the GranSport is the same model as the Gran Turismo Sport . This is the higher-end, performance version of the Maserati Gran Turismo. They changed the name in 2009. The normal Gran Turismo that you see many of, here on eBay, replaced a different car known as the Maserati Cambiocorsa. The GranSport, like the Gran Turismo Sport model, was made in very limited numbers and, is a lot more expensive than the normal Gran Turismo. As such, you can see that this car looks very different from anything you see driving around on the street. From it's lower angled sideboards to its grill to its frame, front-end, Horsepower, suspension, internal design including carbon fiber trim, and exhaust, this is far far nicer than the normal Gran Turismo or Cambiocorsa. This car is a RARE Beauty.First, to clarify the Title issue, this car has NEVER been in an accident. Last year the insurance company paid for and installed a Brand New Factory Maserati Engine after a rock bounced up and hit the bottom of the engine block, putting a tiny crack in it about a half-inch wide. There was no damage to any other part of the car, it's in 100% mint condition as you can see in the pictures. Since the insurance payout was nearly $20,000 and wasn't due to mechanical failure, the insurance company was required, by law, to file for the Title to be switched from Clear to Salvaged. It is viewable in the pictures. I don’t recommend fixing this b/c you can’t see it from the outside and you’ll be sitting on top of this part of the seat when you’re driving. This is the only big cosmetic issue. Everything else below is minor or barely noticeable. -The rims are in excellent condition but do have some scuffs/scratches from occasionally hitting curbs and potholes. I had the rims reframed/rechromed about a year ago, so the luster/shine is great. -There is a small 1-inch long blue plastic piece missing from the front bumper. It’s hardly noticeable, I think it's about $30 if you want to replace it. -On the bottom of the back bumper there is some blue paint scratched off from backing out of my driveway. It’s not viewable if you’re standing up so, again, probably not worth doing anything about. There are also some scratches on the right rear of the bumper. These are both visible in the picture if you want to verify.-The driver's side seat adjustment knob fell off. You can still adjust the switch and move the seat without it. -There is a USC university emblem on the trunk. It is an auto emblem, made for cars, so uses standard double-stick emblem tape and is removable by any auto detailer with soap and clay wax without damaging the paint. About the Maserati Gransport Introduced at the Geneva motor show to considerable critical acclaim, the GranSport was conceived around a new version of the Coupé’s V8 engine, tuned to produce 400 hp. Maximum power delivery had been increased thanks to special developments intended to reduce internal friction, along with work on the intake manifolds and valve seats, together with an electronically controlled pneumatic valve system. A new sports exhaust (instantly recognisable thanks to its twin chrome tailpipes) was designed to provide a deep, full-bodied rumble.The Maserati GranSport was fitted with the Cambiocorsa six-speed electro-hydraulic transmission. In Sport mode the revised software offered 35 per cent quicker gear changes than the Coupé and boasted automatic heel-and-toeing to make changing down a gear even faster. With these improvements, the GranSport could sprint over a kilometre from a standstill in an eye watering 23 seconds flat. The Maserati GranSport had racing in its genes, with technology and experience derived from the Trofeo Maserati championship. The ride height was lowered by 10 mm and the suspension was stiffened. With new Trofeo-style 19" wheels (with spokes designed to evoke the Trident motif) set at a smaller slip angle, the GranSport boasted a lower centre of gravity which turned it into a particularly agile and responsive GT.Externally, a body kit with new bumpers and side sills distinguished it from the Coupé GT, making it more muscular and aerodynamic at the same time. The very pronounced lower spoiler was elegantly integrated into the body itself, while the rear bootlid received a discreet yet efficient spoiler lip. The fruit of much testing in the wind tunnel, the add-ons improved the Cd value and achieved a balanced division of vertical loads (Cz) between front and rear axles. This resulted in an almost total absence of oversteer and improved front-wheel drivability and precision bestowed the GranSport with exceptionally balanced dynamic handling qualities.
