One really had to be on the top rung of the social ladder to even own one of these! This is a truly sixties icon classic, the caring previous owner even kept a personal mileage and gas logbook! . Finished in a dramatic deep Presidential black paint job shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Both the front and rear bumpers fit nicely and compliment the body. The vehicle’s top is a rare Hess and Eisenhardt padded vinyl top. Paint and body shows extremely well with no visible evidence of repair or damage that we could find. The Lincoln Motor Company (also known simply as Lincoln) is a division of the Ford Motor Company that sells luxury vehicles under the Lincoln brand. In a radical change from 1957 Lincolns, the chassis was of unibody construction. Sharing a body with the Continental marque, the 1958–1960 Lincolns would become some of the largest production vehicles ever built; they are the longest Lincolns produced without 5-mph bumpers. They are the longest-wheelbase cars ever produced by Ford Motor Company. For the 1958 model year, a number of changes were made to Lincoln. Along with the integration of Edsel to form the Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln (M-E-L) division, production of all Lincoln and Continental vehicles was shifted to an all new assembly plant.. Sales were better than ever, at 27091 almost equal to the Eldorado’s, a harbinger for the new decade. Little changed from the 1970 model; tinted glass became standard, as did the automatic controlled air conditioning and Sure Trak Anti lock brakes as well as the High back seat, also standard. Horsepower remained unchanged at 365, but the 460CID V8 engine gained a more sophisticated thermostatic air cleaner assembly with its associated duct work. In their second annual “King of the Hill” contest (Motor Trend July 1971) again gave the Lincoln Mark III a nod by a wider margin than 1970 despite the Lincoln being basically a warmed over 1968 model, while the Cadillac was an all new model. M/T noted that the Mark III leather was much more luxurious and better detailed than the Eldorado’s nylon cloth and the Continental’s real wood dash trim was far more attractive than the Cadillac’s simulate. This brings us back to our Beautiful 1971 Mark III, recipient of a nice partial restoration only a few years ago and hails from the Desert state of Arizona! Starting in the nicely appointed interior you’ll notice the seats have been carefully recovered in a Black and White Tu tone scheme, with matching door panels. The panels are clean, and give the interior a very finished appearance. All the gauges are easy to read, and the wood gauge surround looks great. The headliner is clean and not discolored or tattered. It is noted that the wipers are currently not working though, as well as the fuel gauge. The Jet Black exterior shows well with only a few small blemishes found on the doors and on the paint. The chrome trim is all there, it is nice and bright, as well as the bumpers. It boasts a beautiful undercarriage and it is in excellent shape. Finally, the attention must go to the HUGE 460CI engine that powers this big Lincoln. It is nestled neatly in the engine bay and mated to a smooth shifting Automatic transmission. Edsel Ford’s adventurous spirit manifested in a number of outstanding Ford products, one of the most notable of which was the Lincoln Zephyr, one of the most successful collaborations between the artistically minded Edsel and his designer of choice, Bob Gregorie. Aero design was proliferating in the Art Deco period in everything from trains to appliances, but most automotive efforts were rejected by the public due to their inherent clumsiness. Not the Zephyr, which in its initial form showed rare unity of design. First planned as a rear-engine layout, the Zephyr finally emerged with a V-12 adaptation of Ford’s flathead V-8, with identical stroke but reduced piston area. The V-12 received numerous technical improvements over its service life, and later models such as this 1948 Zephyr cabriolet were some of the smoothest-running cars on the road. This agreement to arbitrate shall survive the sale of the automobile described herein. Buyer and Seller hereby agree that Missouri law shall control for all purposes under this Bill of Sale. Buyer and Seller hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts of Missouri to specifically enforce the agreement to arbitrate and to enter judgment of and enforce the award of the arbitrator. All above terms and conditions are applied to vehicle sales, whether through EBay or otherwise. Payment Terms Payment must be made by Cashiers Check, Money Orders or Wire Transfers payable in US Dollars. A Refundable deposit in the amount of $500.00 must be received within Twenty-Four (24) hours of the auctions close either by Master Card, Visa, Discover or PayPal (Credit Cards or PayPal for deposit only NOT for full payment). Purchaser cannot make any claims of ownership to said vehicle without payment in full. The buyer has seven (7) days from close of auction to inspect the vehicle. If an inspection or decision takes longer than seven days and you find the vehicle not to your liking, your deposit will be forfeited and the car will be relisted. Final payment must be received within ten (10) days of the auction close. The refundable deposit only applies if you or an agent inspect said vehicle in St. Louis and find it not to your liking. Documentation Fee: There will be a $195.00 fee added to each car sold. This includes title transfer, inventory tax, holding costs, vehicle preparation, storage and priority documentation delivery. We will not be responsible for buyer’s remorse or problems found to said vehicle once they have left our property. Once full payment has been received, Seller will email or fax a copy of clear title, Bill of Sale, Buyers Guide and additional DMV forms to the Buyer to sign and return via email or fax. The fully-executed forms must be returned to the Seller prior to the shipment of said vehicle. Original paperwork will be sent to Buyer via USPS Priority Mail within ten (10) days from date of final payment.
