This 1978 Lincoln Continental Town Coupe is a rare two-door produced the final year such a substantial car came with the big block V8 engine from Ford Motor Company. You might come across a few Lincoln coupes from 1978, but those will usually be Mark V cars. This is the more plush and far more rare Town Coupe. These cars look especially nice because they take the regal square-jaw lines of the Continental sedan, and apply them to a more personal luxury vehicle. 1978 was a pivotal year because everyone knew the days of the large personal luxury cruisers were numbered. Cadillac had downsized its model line, and Lincoln also was not going to be able to offer its largest Continental ever for much longer. In fact we didn't know it then, but this would be the last time an optional big block would be available...but more on that later. This coupe comes in its factory-correct black, and today it has a nice high gloss finish that makes this car standout for more than just its size. It's also quite nice to have the matching black vinyl half-roof in pristine condition. Plus, the chrome is complete, which is amazing considering we can probably measure the brightwork in acreage. Open the door and you'll see the kind of luxury that could only come from the 1970s. The black vinyl seats are exceptionally nice with the pillow top design that is just as comfy as it looks. There are even armrests, front and rear, for true individual luxury. The driver gets a Grant three-spoke steering wheel, and everyone can enjoy modern tunes with an upgraded large AM/FM/XM/CD stereo. Of course features were not something you ever had to worry about in a Lincoln. This one already came straight from the factory with power seats, power windows, electric rear defogger, and power locks. The air conditioning has even been converted over to R-134a for easier servicing. Ford's smooth and refined 460 cubic-inch V8 provides effortless performance in the Continental Town Coupe. This was the final year for the big block option, which is always welcomed in the engine bay because it has enough torque to pull a boat. Of course you will likely never want to tow a yacht in this big bodied car, but it's this kind of available strength that allow you to smoothly, and quickly, cruise away from the stoplight. Fans of originality will love how the big blue Ford engine looks as factory-fresh as the exterior of this coupe. What you don't see is a new Magnaflow dual exhaust under the car that gives this big dog a little extra bite. While this is the perfect car for the drive-in (after all, its interior is more comfortable than any movie theater seat), there's much more to this coupe. It's got power steering, power brakes, and a three-speed automatic transmission. This is the kind of luxury that can easily take you in comfort to car shows as far away as you want. This Continental Town Coupe has all the great stuff you love about the 70s without having to give up modern comfort we even have the factory buildsheet to show you all of the options. This is big luxury for a little price. Beautiful custom coach built (by Graham Enterprises) 1973 Lincoln Continental Silver Luxury Group Mark IV convertible. This was a professional conversion and the top is power operated.Once the grommets are unfastened the top, effortlessly, goes up or down in seconds. It also has grab and secure handles/hooks just as American made factory built convertibles had to lock and secure or unlock to open (please look at photos). Honestly, this is a car that I do not want to sell but, must trim the herd from my collection to focus on my '61 Continental convertible and finish restoring my Ferrari 308. A great deal of thought and talent was put into the design of the convertible top of this car (I have seen many Mark IV and V convertible conversions and all look awkward but, not this one). It looks awesome up and completely disappears when down with the toneau cover in place. I bought this car from an estate (it had been in storage for 10 years). I had the gas tank taken off and treated inside and out. The car has a new radiator, carbuerator, battery, master cylinder, K&N air filter. All hoses (including some that are metal) and belts have been replaced. Despite having 95,000 miles on the odometer this Mark starts and idles like it has a mere 40,000 miles on it. Being a Mark IV it is exceptionally powerful and sure-footed. This two-tone (the hood is painted charcoal) Mark IV convertible gets a great deal of positive attention from the public. It is literally like being your own parade with many thumbs up and heads swiveling to look at it. I am certain it is due to many things. No one has seen this in convertible form which really enhances the design, the Truepoke wire wheels look incredible on it (there is an extra one in the trunk), the custom side vents are actually elegant looking (that sort of thing can be risky but, it looks awesome on this car). I have owned 2 Mark IVs and a '79 Bill Blass Mark V but, they never got the attention this Mark does. It is truly like the car is an event. I have a working AM/FM 8-track player (from Lincoln Land), 2 NOS Mark IV scripts, a NOS lower right rear rocker panel and there is NOS side door guard molding for the right side. I do want to say that this is currently a daily driver condition car. I wonder if the carpeting (including trunk) would look awesome if simply cleaned by professional carpet cleaners. It is not faded. There is a tear in the driver's seat-- by the way, the seats are quite firm and comfortable. The interior door panels are excellent except for the plastic covered armrests (later ones made of rubber can be sourced from Lincoln Land, etc.). Also, the dash has a crack in the center (these also can be sourced from Lincoln Land and other classic Lincoln parts specialist-- by the way, the Mark V dash top is identical). The car is not rusty but, it does have some typical Mark IV rust spots (ie. in front of and behind the wheel arches which curve down and get constantly splashed by water). Also, in the rear deck panel at the bottom. There is absolutely no rust in the doors and other areas. The underside of the car is rock solid. This is not an ordinary Mark IV convertible. 1973 was the first year of the Silver Luxury Group (to me, a landmark Lincoln)-- it has the gorgeous body design (to me, the rear of the car is art which was not continued for 1974 models). The top was designed to compliment the car and keep it looking sleek and show-car-like. Also, it has a tight fit which insures no rain or noise will get inside. Currently, it does have 2 tears. Grommets have to be unhooked before the top can be lowered and evidently someone did not know this when they attempted to lower the top. A good upholstery shop can duplicate the top using the existing one as a template. One final note: the exhaust system is in excellent condition. On Sep-01-15 at 20:00:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note: I have added photos of the top up. Because of the damage done to the top (someone did not unsnap the grommets before lowering the top and it caused several tears on either side). The top does not look as smooth as it would had this damage not been done to it. It would have a completely polished look had the top not been damaged....

They were unlike anything that came before, or since, and the biggest most luxurious of them all had to be the Lincoln Continental. This particular Mark V, with just over 48,000 original miles, is perhaps the most sheetmetal per dollar you'll find anywhere. Short of 20 feet long, this blue 1979 Lincoln Continental will easily have everyone's head's turning. Not only because of its size, but also because it demands attention due to the excellent paint, the gold grille, and the gleaming bumpers. The car is covered in its factory correct color, and the paint has recently been wet sanded and buffed so it looks practically new. The more square shape of the car is nicely outlined with bright trim and framed in fresh chrome bumpers. The vinyl top and tire cover are in fantastic condition and really helps to complete the look. Optioned out, including a working factory sunroof, this Continental was easily ahead of its time. The blue cloth interior appears new and is quite plush, and perfectly matches the exterior as it screams luxury. The cleanliness of the interior follows through from the door panels, to the carpets, and up to the headliner. For being a car from 1979, the amount of amenities is plentiful, and is appreciated today. This Lincoln was again, simply ahead of its time, with factory power windows and locks, cruise control, 8-track player, sunroof, and even the Quadraphonic 4 speaker system also works to this day. The wood grain dash completes the rich feel, and is the perfect contrast to the lavish seats, making both stand out in their own ways. Even the trunk is lined in the comfy carpet, and shows that the luxuriousness on the inside extends from the dash all the way through the trunk. Under the hood is the numbers matching 400 cubic inch V8. With less than 49,000 miles, the 400ci Cleveland power plant is extremely clean and looks right at home in the engine bay. Bolted to the 400ci mill is a smooth 3-speed automatic. Stopping power surprisingly comes courtesy of four wheel disc brakes, a nice touch, and a must have for a vehicle this large. In front of those brakes, the factory 15" hurricane rims have been wrapped in like new rubber. Under this car you will find a fully sorted chassis with great floor plans with no hints of rust. The Mark V was only produced for 3 model years, but it quickly became one of the most popular Lincolns vehicles, selling an average of 75,000 models each year. When you look at this incredible survivor, it's easy to see why. If you are a fan of the '70s American luxury cars, it doesn't get much better than this. This 1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV is a cery low mileage time capsule that you can pick up for less than just about any other example of classic luxury around. And they dont last in our showroom! The Continental has always been a great American luxury car with big block power and a TON of vintage sheetmetal. The gothic Mark IV was longer, wider, and lower than the Mark III and delivered what was arguably the best combination of full-sized luxury and muscular performance. This coupe has been kept in a pristine preserved state for four decades. The Dove Gray finish is glossy and rich, and it shines nearly like white. It's the perfect backdrop for the razor-sharp fender creases and plentiful chrome accents. The front has the Rolls-Royce style grille and 1970s chic flat front hidden headlights. This is accented by attractive parking light lenses that are miniature works of casting genius. Out back, the deck lid features the Continental's trademark spare tire hump/continental kit. There's also the matching gray vinyl roof in good condition. But take a closer look, and you can tell this beauty is of the rare first-year Cartier Edition's. The original red and white pinstriping as well as the Cartier signature in the oval opera windows help give it away. Also, the acres of gray leather interior, another telltale sign of the Cartier Edition for 1976, still looks disco fresh. The interior is large enough to comfortably seat six people, or both rows can fold down the armrests for four independent luxury capsules. As expected with a true luxury cruiser, this one comes with power everything - power windows, power door locks, power front seats, and even a power sunroof. Other modern luxury features in this classic include cruise control, AM/FM radio, and air conditioning. Of course, with a Cartier Edition Mark IV also comes a genuine Cartier clock. Ford's smooth and refined 460 cubic-inch V8 provides effortless performance in the Continental, and with only 25,000 original miles, you wont find one nicer. It has decent horsepower, but the real story is the torque that's enough to pull a boat. Of course you will likely never want to tow a yacht in this land-yacht, but it's this kind of available strength that allow you to smoothly and quickly cruise away from the stoplight. Fans of originality will love how the big blue Ford engine looks as factory-fresh as the exterior of this coupe. While this is the perfect car for the drive-in (after all, it's more comfortable than any movie theater seat), there's much more to this Mark IV. It's got power steering, power brakes, and a three-speed automatic transmission. The final drive ratio is a highway-friendly 2.73. This means you can ride in comfort to car shows as far away as you want. This Continental Mark IV has all the great stuff you love about the 70s without having to give up modern comfort. They don't come more original than this one, and yet this luxury is exceptionally affordable. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1966 Lincoln Continental Documented 37,580 Actual Mile Continental 462 V8 C6 Speed Survivor Year: 1966 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Blue Mileage: 37580 Transmission type: 3 Speed Automatic Engine: 462 V8 Interior color: White Vehicle info In the heyday of American luxury, the mantras 'bigger is better' and 'more is better' were alive and well. Cars from Cadillac, Lincoln and Imperial were large, isolated, came equipped with massive torque rich motors and provided an extremely comfortable ride that was second only to a cruise ship. This 1966 Continental Coupe is a spectacular survivor that has been immaculately maintained by two owners throughout its entire 46 year existence. With a solid body, an all-original drivetrain, and a lavish interior, it mixes one of America's biggest V8s with the arctic-cool class that only a 60s Lincoln can deliver. If you're one of the many enthusiasts who's always dreamed of owning a big American cruiser that's high on style and loaded with comfort, we have the car for you! Included with the sale of this cool old survivor is an original window sticker which breaks down as follows: FLETCHER LINCOLN-MERCURY80 Franklin PlaceSummit, New Jersey LINCOLN CONTINENTAL COUPE: $5,447.40Assembled in: Wixom, MichiganHuron Blue: $00Vinyl twin front and rear floor mats: $12.74Leather trim: $110.27Six-way power seat: $82.64Embassy roof: $120.24White sidewall 915x15 four ply tires: $56.47Power vent windows: $71.13Automatic temperature control: $519.82AM radio/stereo tape system: $242.80Tinted glass: $52.163-way non-glare rearview mirror: $4.62Spare tire cover and license plate frame: $20.49Power door locks and door edge guards: $49.00 TOTAL OPTIONS: $1,342.38 DESTINATION CHARGE: $104.50 TOTAL RETAIL PRICE: $6,894.28 Manufactured in Wixom, Michigan; sold in Summit, New Jersey; and originally owned by Lieutenant Colonel Jose Diaz of Annandale, Virginia, this classy Continental coupe is a 37,580 mile two-owner survivor that presents well and performs great! As you can probably tell, the car still displays most of its original Huron Blue paint, and despite the character you'd expect a half-century old single stage finish to acquire, remains in outstanding condition. Under that paint, solid body panels are straight and rust-free, build gaps are still at factory standards and, judging by the car's slick appearance, it's probably been subjected to a downright militant maintenance schedule. By 1966 Lincoln was facing two problems. First and foremost their flagship Continental was getting a bit long in the tooth. And secondly the brand was having a hard time luring affluent, Cadillac-bound luxury buyers into the Ford family. They remedied both of those problems with brand new sheetmetal and the official introduction of this car; the fourth generation Continental coupe. At the front of the car, a traditional 'simple square' grille floats behind bright halogen headlights and a sculpted chrome bumper that's complete with newly re-integrated parking lights. On top of that grille, a new "CONTINENTAL" script is perfectly centered below a 'four point' Lincoln emblem; and at the sides of that grille stainless capped, knife-edge fenders begin a solid, slab-sided profile. At the top of the car, an original vinyl top frames a familiar curved windshield which is bordered by straight stainless trim and cleared by satin stainless wipers. Below that windshield an original power antenna functions just as Henry Ford intended; and behind that windshield, a chrome remote driver's mirror perfectly complements factory tinted side glass and stainless trimmed back glass. At the sides of the car, a conservative combination of ornate and functional items provides the timeless appearance 60s Lincolns are known for. Swept fender trim, dent-free rocker moldings and original door edge guards ensure that all contact points are protected from renegade road debris. And original door handles, polished original fender trim, mostly original Lincoln emblems and completely original "CONTINENTAL" fender scripts add just the right amount of flash and detail. At the back of the car, knife-edged fenders hang small reflectors above a second sculpted bumper that's complete with clear reverse lamps. Inside that bumper, simple square tail lights are stylish, wide and function just as well as the day they left the showroom. And above that bumper, a fourth 'four point' Lincoln emblem is mounted horizontally to hide the car's trunk lock cylinder. Part of Lincoln's 60s appeal was their rock solid safety, and marketing for the fourth generation Continental often boasted more weight than both Cadillac and Imperial. Naturally, a big luxurious car needs a big torque-rich motor; and at 340 horsepower and 485 lb./ft. of silky smooth grunt, this coupe's numbers matching 462 cubic inch MEL V8 fits the bill just perfectly! Highly original, the engine bay features correct markings and is in excellent condition throughout. It's not concours by any means, but it is incredibly tidy and has obviously been well-maintained from day one. Fresh Ford Blue paint covers the freshly tuned engine and freshly decaled air cleaner, which supplies air to a fully rebuilt Carter 4-barrel carburetor. All the major service items are in 100% functional condition, including the factory AC, tagged Autolite Sta-Ful battery, Autolite coil, new electronic distributor and fresh Carquest suppression cables. The satin black inner fenders are solid, the firewall is in excellent condition, and all the other places you'd think rust would hide are instead clean and untouched. I'd venture to say this Lincoln is every bit as road ready and powerful as it was back in 1966! For 1966, the Continental was equipped with a specially prepared version of Ford's reliable and sturdy C6 3-speed automatic transmission. This coupe's original C6 drives a mild set of 3.00 gears which provide effortless high-speed highway cruising. That fully-sorted drivetrain rides on a factory undercarriage that, like the car's engine bay, is clean and honest. And in the middle of the floors, a fresh factory replacement exhaust system provides quiet, confident motoring. Stops are handled by power front disc and rear drum brakes which are in good condition and show no signs of rot. Turns come courtesy of factory power steering that works hard to transform Titanic-size radiuses into tug boat-size rotations. And at the corners of the car, fresh 235/75 Firestone whitewalls spin 15 inch steel wheels around original satin-finished hubcaps. Trust me, you've never experienced highway cruising unless you've been in a car like this. Between its powerful V8, cavernous interior and solid, weighty suspension, it's the perfect environment for long road trips and scenic cross-country adventures. And over the past few years, the car's previous owner executed many small detail repairs which ensure this Lincoln will continue to be a competent road warrior for years to come. Speaking of that cavernous interior, open the car's well-aligned doors and you'll find a well-maintained cockpit that's both stylish and comfortable. The six-way power front and manual rear bench seats are firm and supple, with no signs of age or even so much as a frayed edge. Above those seats, a taut headliner is stretched between bright stainless pillar trim. At the sides of those seats, ornate and equally pristine door panels hang exquisite wood trim below modernist chrome buttons. And at the bottom of those seats, like-new carpet rides under original rubber floor mats. Modern conveniences such as power windows, power vent windows, power door locks, air conditioning and an original restored AM/FM 8-track stereo all look good, function properly and add a nice level of convenience to an already satisfying driving experience. In front of the driver, a stylish chrome steering wheel spins a black rim around a chrome column shifter and a pristine dash that's complete with a fully functional NOS clock. And behind the cockpit a large, carpeted trunk props what may very well be the car's original spare tire between a large storage bin and an original decklid decal. Documentation for this classy Lincoln cruiser includes an original order form, an original window sticker, original dealer paperwork, an original owner's manual, original warranty books, an original warranty card, the first owner's original financing papers from the Pentagon Credit Union, and various maintenance and service receipts. You simply won't find more car for your money than this super cool Lincoln. It's stylish, comfortable, reliable, and still commands a lot of respect on the highway. Don't miss your opportunity to own one of the nicest all original Continentals on the planet! About this auction & rk motors charlotte Please note that all sales are binding and final. The fifth generation Continental hasn\'t quite had the fame that the fourth generation 1960s cars have. But that doesn\'t demerit it from being at the same level of class and posh that it\'s older, suicide-door siblings are. This 1973 Lincoln Continental is stunning example as to why these cars were the epitome of American luxury in the 1970s. This Continental wears a beautiful coat of Red Moondust Metallic and it looks liquid smooth on the car\'s sheet metal. That\'s the correct color for this Lincoln and it\'s fair to say it was worth the $127 option in 1973. It presents a luxurious presence with crisp reflections that is highlighted with elegant brightwork gracing the lines of the car. Also correct to the car is the beige vinyl top that appears to be in new condition. It\'s a nice contrast against the fresh red hue. Clean chrome bumpers cap the car at the front and rear with fender skirts adding a stylish touch out back. Distinctive features of these cars are the cool hidden headlights and you can count on these working without worries. Open the long doors to a plush environment that is comfortable enough to sleep in. The power front bench seat and rear bench are covered in correct light beige leather that shows very well and it feels like you\'re sitting on a cloud when you slip in to this interior. The dash is straight and houses all factory instrumentation with controls for the air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, and a clock. That clean dash is accented with great looking wood appliqu%26Atilde;%26copy; that appoints an appropriate touch to the cockpit. Other luxuries and conveniences that you\'d expect from a luxury car of this era are present, including power windows, power door locks, and a tilt wheel. This big cruiser needs a big motor to motivate it along, and powering this Lincoln is the original 460 cubic inch V8. That motors appears to have seen a couple of upgrades with an aluminum intake manifold and Holley carburetor. Power is sent to a 3-speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly and translates power to the rear axle. Power steering and power brakes with discs up front make driving this big luxury car a pleasure. And the chassis is built to the standards that will have you feel like you\'re riding on air. Also included with the sale is a factory buildsheet, original window sticker, owner\'s manual, and original marketing material for the 1973 Lincoln Continental. At what we\'ve got this car priced at, you can be sure you\'re getting a lot of bang for your buck. Who knows if you will six figure returns anywhere in the near future, but for sure a little investment will yield big returns with smiles, complements, stares, and waves whenever you take this \'73 Continental out for a joy ride.
