PRESENTED FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS A 1961 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL SEDAN IN HONEY BEIGE WITH HONEY BEIGE INTERIOR. THIS EXAMPLE IS AN EARLY PRODUCTION CAR--VIN NUMBER 951 OFF THE ASSEMBLY LINE FOR 1961. AS AN EARLY PRODUCTION CAR, BUILT AS ONE OF THE FIRST 1000 CARS, MY CAR EXHIBITS SOME DESIGN VARIANCES WHICH WERE MODIFIED IN LATER PRODUCTION CARS. NOTABLE DIFFERENCES INCLUDE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT WHEEL COVERS AND THE STEERING WHEEL HORN RING IS RECESSED AROUND THE BACK OF THE STEERING WHEEL SPOKES RATHER THAN FLOATING ON TOP OF THE STEERING WHEEL SPOKES AS WAS COMMON WITH LATER PRODUCTION RUN EXAMPLES. THIS 30,000 ACTUAL MILEAGE CAR WAS TREATED TO A NO-EXPENSE SPARED RESTORATION INCLUDING NEW PAINT, CHROME, POLISHED STAINLESS IN ADDITION TO UNTOLD NOS EMBLEMS, BADGES, LENSES, ETC. ALL FRONT GRILLE SECTIONS, INCLUDING LOWER BUMPER INSERTS ARE NOS. THE REAR GRILLE SECTIONS AND FUEL FILLER DOOR WERE RECHROMED AND METICULOUSLY DETAILED BY ME FOR CONCOURS EXHIBITION. AS YOU MIGHT EXPECT FROM A LOW MILEAGE CAR, THE INTERIOR WAS TOTALLY ORIGINAL AND LEFT UNTOUCHED. THE CARPET IS AN EXTREMELY LIGHT SHADE OF TAN, ALMOST CREAM COLOR, AND DOES SHOW EVIDENCE OF WEAR. FOR PERFECTION, THE CARPETING SHOULD BE REPLACED. THE TRUNK AREA IS A TIME WARP WITH ORIGINAL SPARE, COVER AND TRUNK MAT. THE CAR IS MECHANICALLY EXCELLENT, HOWEVER HAS BEEN IN LONG-TERM CLIMATE CONTROLLED STORAGE AND DOES NEED THE REAR RESONATORS REPLACED (NEW RESONATORS INCLUDED WITH AUCTION) AND BRAKES CHECKED PRIOR TO LONG DISTANCE TRAVEL.
