However, while not a flawless example you might find in a new Puma / illegal VIN rebadged, it is unlikely you will ever see another example like this. The truck started its life as a 1984 D90 with final fittings to order by the Special Vehicles Division in Solihull but the exact original build and preparations not disclosed re its history. It is evident, however, the truck was not used in any harsh environment. The 300tdi based drivetrain is coveted as the best power plant for these trucks and partnered with the preferred r380 Gearbox it feels simply unstoppable. With only a touch of the ignition this D90 starts and runs flawlessly and runs out smoothly at highway speeds at 80-90mph in a stride. From the first engagement you are confident that if you could maintain traction and stability it could climb a wall. Fitted with a New Optima Yellow Top Spiral Cell and Land Rover Genuine battery switch, as optioned in 110NAS trucks, the need for battery maintenance is negated if stored long term (ref drain from normal alarm/radio system drain) Conditions and inspections. Unlike some of the NAS offerings we table, this is not one of the “brand new” builds. It is instead it was a long term ownership build regularly maintained to exacting standards using only LR Genuine parts and specified fluids. In 2016 the truck was fitted with brand new OEM Land rover Genuine Boost Alloy Wheels and ultra rare (in US) Land Rover Specification MT/R Tires directly sourced from a Genuine Land Rover Supplier in the UK. Recent additions also include the professional installation of the Warn Spydura winch system tastefully seated within a Mantec to OEM specification bumper as designed for and used on the Defenders in the movie Spectre. No expense was spared in the custom installation using only the highest quality #02 Copper Wiring and Lugs to properly mount the solenoid and housing where easily accessed in the rust free “as new” storage/battery beneath the passenger seat. With options and OEM upgrades/renewals too numerous to detail here, the more notable interior appointments include complete removal of the existing interior, which while it was in remarkable condition, changed to brand new OEM Land Rover Genuine 2015 Puma XS seating and cubby storage. The truck includes a matched XS center seat easily swapped for the console if so required for added seating. Further, the new OEM Genuine Mats, Rubber Matting and Flooring system finish a near perfect rust free footwell secured with A2 Stainless fittings . All lighting, Headlamps, signals etc all work perfectly as does the Heating Ventilations system. Land Rover Defender Twin Cab Pickup. 1988 model that was the very first of the Defender 130's to be manufactured. This vehicle is incredibly rare for this age and there are just two others registerd at the DVLA and in existence in the U.K. This example has a genuine 107,000 miles from new. I have just fitted a brand new Ashcroft Gearbox/transmission and it runs incredibly well in the city and on the interstate. In addition, I've fitted a winch bumper and some other parts. I have a lot of history with the car to prove the mileage, I imported it myself, but I have to sadly sell it due to last minute relocation. I had big plans for the truck. Ive never seen a 109" with a configuration like this one. This truck began its life (as I understand it) in Spain as an emergency vehicle. The original color was yellow. The truck is very solid inside and out. The undercarriage, chassis, bulkhead, door bottoms are in great shape, as you can see from the photos. it gets 70mph on the top end. It has a very rare 8 cylinder motor. 5 speed manual transmission. High and low range gear works perfectly. The tires are in great contain. The interior is in great condition, no rips or tears or wear marks. The seat belts are in good condition. All gauges and lights work. In my opinion this truck is in really good condition and is an above average truck compared to other trucks out there. This is a truck that you can drive exactly like it is today...or you can take it to another level. But it is the perfect truck for its age and condition. The check engine light has been on for approximately 3 years, The cats clogged up and the O2 sensors went bad, so I cut them out and ever sense then I have been unsuccessful with resetting the computer. It actually runs better without all that in place It does have a working snorkel, but I currently have it disconnected because it seems to me to restrict airflow and results in power loss at speed.
