We bought this car in 2001 for daughter to use for college. She got rear ended by Dodge Ram in 2004. Replaced taillights,trunk and whatever else necessary to continue to use the car and make it operable. I began driving it in 2004 and have had all children drive it for work, pleasure and driving tests. Now that all children are grown and car is 14 yrs old, it is showing its age. Replaced all tires within the past 2 yrs.Replaced timing belt,crank sensor,starter,has another battery now for less than 2 yrs,new terminals, removed catalytic convertor this summer. Replaced with straight pipe. It runs quiet. Has flat tire on passenger front. Removed original stereo and replaced it with cdplayer/mp3. The only problem I'm having is starting/not starting. It will start sometimes but I don't know when and I don't know when it won't and therefore, as I am 61 yrs old and not a mechanic, I don't know how to fix this. When it is working, it is a very good car. Up to 28mpg average. It's a cheap good car. One owner or at the very least, has stayed in the same family. I have enjoyed driving this car. Once the starting issue is fixed, it will provide lots of driving pleasure to whomever gets it.

This is the perfect car for students, or anyone needing something small and reliable! For Sale, a 2002 Kia Rio, very clean and well maintained vehicle with extremely low miles, 77685. Former fleet/rental vehicle, so all maintenance was done on schedule. Highly reliable car with great gas mileage, cold A/C, good tires. No audio input jack, but it does have a tape deck, so an audio adapter can be utilized. Very clean, non smoking vehicle. Some bad spots in the paint, but no serious damage and no reported accidents. Full history available, just can't post the link here. I do not have a tag to sell with the vehicle, but we can borrow mine to test drive it. The car is located in a fenced yard in SE Ocala. He rented a three hundred square-foot office in the old Merriam, Kansas Gas building, which he shared with two other businesses. Everything worked like a charm until the timing belt went out. I haven't pulled the head to see how extensive the damage is although all 4 spark plugs had broken electrodes. So, I'm sure it must have some bent / broken valves as well. I'm selling it in need of engine work or for parts if someone has the same model. The rear tires are practically new with around 5000 miles on them and the front tires have about twice that much. The interior and glass is all in good shape. The body is in fair condition although you'll find door dings and parking lot rash here and there etc... Make me an offer if you have the slightest interested. The Rio will achieve excellent gas mileage and it is very inexpensive and easy to maintain. With very minimal maintenance costs this car should be expected to go over 200K miles with ease. The Kia has a gas sipping 1.6L inline 4 cylinder engine that has lots of power and life remaining. It starts right up, idles smooth, and gets the car up to speed just as you would expect it to. The engine is paired up with a fully automatic transmission that is in excellent working order as well. It shifts through all of its gears smoothly and is very easy to drive. The car drives very well. It goes down the road straight, requires minimal steering input, and there are no abnormal shakes, vibrations or noises to be concerned about. This would be a great car to commute to work as it would be very economical to drive. It may also be a great first car as the insurance for a young driver should be super inexpensive for this car. All around its a great automobile and a great buy at this price! The only thing that you might complain about is the glove box. While it is a good size and can hold a lot of stuff the latch is broken so it wont stay shut. It is using Velcro to hold it in the closed position. I am sure a new latch could be purchased at a local salvage yard for a minimal fee but we have not been fortunate enough to find one yet so it must be a common theme for the RIO. Other than that it is a used vehicle so minor chips and scratches should be expected. I have take lots of photos as you can see and have photo'd any areas that may be less than perfect as well as I could. The Kia has a gas sipping 1.6L inline 4 cylinder engine that has lots of power and life remaining. It starts right up, idles smooth, and gets the car up to speed just as you would expect it to. The engine is paired up with a fully automatic transmission that is in excellent working order as well. It shifts through all of its gears smoothly and is very easy to drive. The car drives very well. It goes down the road straight, requires minimal steering input, and there are no abnormal shakes, vibrations or noises to be concerned about. This would be a great car to commute to work as it would be very economical to drive. It may also be a great first car as the insurance for a young driver should be super inexpensive for this car. All around its a great automobile and a great buy at this price! The only thing that you might complain about is the glove box. While it is a good size and can hold a lot of stuff the latch is broken so it wont stay shut. It is using Velcro to hold it in the closed position. I am sure a new latch could be purchased at a local salvage yard for a minimal fee but we have not been fortunate enough to find one yet so it must be a common theme for the RIO. Other than that it is a used vehicle so minor chips and scratches should be expected. I have take lots of photos as you can see and have photo'd any areas that may be less than perfect as well as I could.
