THIS IS A 1981 JEEP CJ8 SCRAMBLER(IT HAS QUITE A UNIQUE STORY AND I HAVE DOCUMENTATION TO BACK IT UP) FIRST THE BASICS ENGINE: 258 I6 (straight six)TRANSMISSION: 4-SPEED MANUAL 4x4COLOR:BLACK4X4 WITH LOCKING HUBSMILAGE: 85,000 ON BODY AND FRAMEMILAGE ON ENGINE: 15,000 APROX REBUILT ENGINE Jeep History THIS JEEP WAS BUILT IN TOLEDO, OH AND SHIPPED UP TO VANCOUVER, CA. IT WAS DRIVEN BY ITS FIRST OWNER UNTIL 1997. (ITS ODOMETER IS STILL IN KILOMETERS) IN 1997 THE SECOND OWNER OF THE JEEP HAD THE BODY TAKEN OFF THE FROM AND COMPLETELY GUTTED AND CLEANED UP. THE OWNER SANDBLASTED THE FRAME AND BODY TO PERFECTION. THEN HE WORKED ON RESTORING THE CJ8 TO ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE LIFT THAT HE PUT ON IT. HE ALSO HAD THE ENGINE COMPLETELY FACTORY REBUILT AND HAS THE PERFECT AMOUNT OF GRUMBLE TO IT. NEEDLESS TO SAY HE GOT IT DIALED IN REAL NICE LIKE. YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING DONE TO THE JEEP SINCE 1997 HAS PAPER WORK TO SHOW FOR IT. AFTER THAT THIS JEEP LITERALLY SAT IN HIS HEATED POLE BARN YEAR ROUND ONLY TAKING IT OUT DURING THE SUMMER TO DRIVE IT INTO TOWN WITH HIS KIDS. I TOLD YOU THAT TO TELL YOU THIS. THE JEEP HAS NOT SEEN RAIN OR SNOW IN 17 YEARS AT ALL. THERE IS NOT A LICK OF RUST ON THIS THING! NONE NOT AT ALL. YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME COME CHECK IT OUT FOR YOURSELF THIS THING IS CLEAN. (PLEASE CHECK OUT THE COLD START AND WALK AROUND VIDEO TO SEE IT FOR YOURSELF. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE EARLY IN 2015 AND GAVE THE CJ8 SOME BASIC MAINTENANCE AND SOME UPGRADES. NOW FOR ME THE BIGGEST EXAMPLE OF HOW GOOD OF CONDITION THIS JEEP IS IN WAS THAT I DROVE IT FROM VANCOUVER ISLAND ALL THE WAY TO MY HOME IN FORT WAYNE, IN. THAT IS OVER 2,OOO+ MILES. WE DID IT IN JUST OVER 39 HOURS. (photos of the trip included in photos) LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN. WE DROVE IT CROSS COUNTRY THIS SUMMER AND WE DID NOT HAVE ONE ISSUE AT ALL. Using almost as a daily driver for my 15 mile one way commute. Very fun to drive and many original features that make this Willy's Jeep unique. Original floor mats, original seat belts, original seats (upgraded option from the Tuxedo line), original wipers (most Jeeps were replaced with aftermarket motors), and I even have the original cardboard glove box (but it was replaced with a plastic box). The tub floor boards have been patched over the years. The CJ-5 tool box floor was patched and holds tools. Includes newer complete BestTop with doors and panels-all in great condition. This is a great fun Jeep to drive with the rock solid original Willy's Hurricane engine and strong consistent oil pressure. 4x4 works too. Frame has no patchwork like you'll find on older Jeeps. Paint job and tub patchwork is not perfect. Some gauges do not work. This is not a showroom car, there are cosmetic flaws. Otherwise a decent and fun little Jeep - I get a lot of compliments and interest. Including extras such as a manual, parts, and a Jerry can that was going to be mounted on the side.

Ceramic coated Hedman Headers, custom dual exhaust with cats and FlowMasters. Painless wiring harness, electric Holley fuel pump, and polyethylene fuel tank. Duel electric fans with Flex-a-lite control. KC Headlights and ORO LED taillights. Excellent for Show and Beach Cruising- A real head turner!!! No doors, ac or heat. Comes with a simple bikini top. Hi, for sale 1973 Jeep CJ 5, the Willys CJ-5 (after 1964 Jeep CJ-5) was influenced by new corporate owner, Kaiser, and the Korean War M38 Jeep. It was intended to replace the CJ-3B, but that model continued in production. The CJ-5 repeated this pattern, continuing in production for three decades while three newer models appeared. The CJ-5 has the distinct honor of being a vehicle that was hard to kill off... equaling the longest production run to date.
