1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0 4x4 Blue/purple. Inspected until 02/2016. Has approximately 109500 miles. Body is in very good condition with some dents and scratches but no major rust and no rot. Interior has some stains but no major rips. The jeep has typical flat leaf springs that are coming with this year, you only notice it when hitting major bumps or pot holes. The jeep runs and drives with no major issues, Tires have good tread. AC compressor clutch is not engaging, driver's side tie rod end has tear in boot, window buttons on back doors work intermittently but always work from front driver switch. Some recent work includes 2010- left side brake line. 2011- starter. 2012- brake pads/shoes, rear calipers, rear wheel cylinders, new tires. 2013- coolant flush, water pump, 2015- front rotors, front wheel u joints, O2 sensor, shocks, steering damper, track bar, sway bar bushings and links, front axle seals, turn signal switch, valve cover gasket. It is not a structural issue yet as they hold weight just fine, but there is one small hole on the driver's side and two small holes on the pass side. Also has 2 small holes in the cargo area (also still holds plenty of weight as I had all my tools back there). Should be easy to patch, I'd planned to over the summer if I'd kept the Jeep.Interior is well-worn. Back seat is dirty/stained from tool storage, and cargo area just has bedliner, no carpet. Front seats show cracking in the leather but are very comfortable and not torn up.Paint is mismatched black, easy fix with some gloss black spray paint (what the doors are done in).Overall, this is a perfect Jeep for someone that wants a semi-daily driver and weekend toy that will do great on the trails. 4wd works great, I've only used it twice in the past year (in the snow to get to work this winter) which is mainly why I'm selling it. I've put a ton of time, money (over 10k invested in upgrades and maintenance over 4 years), and effort into making sure I always went with the best quality parts that I could get. The jeep has high miles (~245k) but I'd drive it to California tomorrow (if someone else paid for the fuel to get there!).This Jeep IS LISTED LOCALLY. Do not care what it looks like ? here it is !! we put ALOT of work in this jeep - we bought this approx 3 years ago , we never got into an accident with this vehicle during our ownership- has clean vehicle history!! previous owner drove back and forth from pa to Wisconsin a lot as he had family there. was used mainly for driving distance with us as well . this jeep has many highway miles - inspected till 9/15 have many receipts for work done past couple months work : had brakes adjusted/cleaned- oil change- clean throttle body/change (rear) differential seal NEW HEADLINER! WONT FIND THAT IN TOO MANY OF THESE ! past 3 years : thermostat-water pump-serpentine belt- LEFT differential seals and axle bearing NEW-rear brake drums inspected-new wiper blades- new parking brake and cables tune up 02 sensor --fuel filter--air filter- cam /crank sensor--new starter new transmission line all fluid/filter cleaned out 2 brand new front tires alignment -both side mirrors new NEW battery from AAA- warranty more work done ,im sure you get the idea - whatever it needed along the line was done positives: engine runs great smooth no knocks etc. transmission shifts perfectly - has been kept clean non smoker - more work done than the other jeeps you have looked at negatives : paint is mostly faded/oxidized on hood/roof - please understand we focused on mechanics and keeping this jeep clean inside- air condition does not work 1 of the lines has a slow leak- never got that fixed because we use this truck mainly in the winter you will LOVE it in the snow! 4 WHEEL DRIVE does have some dings here and there , slight dent in passenger front fender was there when I bought the truck no worries - there were some rust holes (normal ) on both sides bottom of back doors area - rocker panels- WE fixed the holes ourselves , not our strong point, but , we did our best .came out (ok) it is wayyyyyyyy better than it was , some paint over spray on the black body - etc. they sell the rocker panels on eBay for 35 bucks each if you want that area better than this . needs: not right away , down the line. steering wheel has a little bit of play, we think its the gear box , never fixed it has been that way 3 years . rear main seal has a SLOWWWWWWWWWW leak . . maybe 1 quart per year slow ? if that? - needs small things inside (plastic seat handle ,rear speaker , the master window/lock switch will need to be replaced gets stuck sometimes . windows work fine it is more the locks - has a little squeak in brakes that we are working on this week (minor) IN CLOSING - YOU CAN GET IN THIS JEEP AND DRIVE ACROSS COUNTRY RIGHT NOW WITH NO WORRIES IN HERE !
