I have extensive experience both driving them as well as working on them. I have a Jaguar in my personal collection. I’m personally a prominent member of a Jaguar Internet forum and can provide you with tons of references. That having been said I RARELY sell them. The reason? Most have had years of neglected maintenance and have extremely high miles so the cost to bring them up to spec is often more than the purchase price of the car. This car is one of the rare few I’m willing to put my name on. It’s an absolutely pristine example of fine handcrafted British motoring. These X308 chassis XJ8’s are in my opinion the last of the classic Jags. The newer cars may be more technologically advanced and have more horsepower etc, but they have gotten so far away from the classic and instantly recognizable Jaguar style and soul that they have become basically just another car… This car is poetry in motion, and one of the last instantly recognizable Jaguars ever produced. From the moment you open the heavy door and see the beautiful leather and walnut wood appointed cabin you realize this car is special, it has a soul. You are surrounded in a level of understated luxury that few cars can rival. This is probably one of the best examples in the country. It has only traveled 68k miles in its pampered life. This car came from the factory heavily loaded and features the following equipment: Leather Interior - Alpine Audio System - Front/Rear Fog Lamps - Heated Front/Rear Seats - Power Sliding Sunroof - Garage Door Opener - Rain Sensing Wipers - Reverse Park Control - Automatic Stability - Anti-lock Brakes - Traction Control - Rear A/C blower Controls This car features the classic Jaguar Drivetrain: 4.0L V8 Cylinder Engine 5-Speed Automatic Transmission Rear Wheel Drive 280 Horsepower ~ 277 ft-lb Torque This car runs and drives like brand new! We have personally driven it over 300 miles and it hasn’t skipped a beat. It’s loaded with great features. This is a 2002 model, which is very important when it comes to 4.0 Jaguar Engines. Earlier 4.0 motors featured plastic timing chain guides that are known to break and snap as the cars age. If a chain guide snaps and the engine jumps time, it will destroy the engine as valves and pistons will make contact. Jaguar released an updated metal timing chain guide but it did not become standard until the 2002 model year. Earlier model year 4.0 engines NEED to have this retrofitted (at a cost of about 1800 dollars for the work). Otherwise the engine is a time bomb and could catastrophically fail on you with pretty much NO advance notice of a problem. Please do not buy a 2001 or earlier model year Jaguar with the 4.0 engine unless you have confirmed that the timing chain guides have been replaced. This car has a super low for the year 68k highway miles. It is finished in a beautiful and elegant silver with the classic black leather interior with grey piping on the seats. This car is in extremely good mechanical condition. It starts right up as soon as you turn the key. Everything works and there are no check engine lights / stories / mechanical problems or fluid leaks. Alignment is good and it tracks straight and true, and has no vibrations or issues up to 90mph. It rides very smoothly. The car rides on a matched set of Pirelli all season tires that have near new tread. The windows have been slightly tinted to protect the interior adding to overall presence of this Jaguar. Now every used car has some cosmetic flaws however minimal. This particular jaguar has a very slight ding / scratch on the front passenger side fender on the side almost parallel to the headlight. It’s BARELY noticeable but its there. The rear bumper has a few scratches, but other than that the body is exceptional. There are no rips or tears in the leather, no burn holes or any other evidence of smoking in the car. The factory owner’s manuals are in place in the trunk. If you are a PA resident the car has valid PA inspection and emission stickers until Aug 2016. Overall it’s a VERY nice car especially for the year. I would rate it a 9.0 /10 overall and I’m VERY picky with cars. I tend to be overly critical and under describe cars, but I’d rather you be impressed when you get your new car rather than disappointed due to the unrealistic descriptions that many dealers offer. These cars are used and we get them as they are. We sell our cars WAY below retail values and as such cannot afford to add accessories or other things after the sale is completed. I have no problem holding cars on our lot until shipping carriers pick them up, or it's convenient for you to come pick them up, but we expect the car to be paid, in full within 7 business days of the auction closing. Now onto the legal stuff: Status Motors of NJ LLC is a licensed, bonded, and insured used car dealer in the state of New Jersey. Our retail lot is located at 30 RT 130, (corner of Rt 130 and Groveville Road) in Bordentown, NJ. NJ residents MUST pay 7% sales tax in addition to the winning price of the bid. No exceptions. Out of state residents must pay their own taxes when they go to register the car in their local municipality. All purchasers (including dealers) must pay a $199 documentation fee which covers the cost of overnight mail and title transfer. Temporary vehicle tags are available to both in state and out of state residents, they cost $25. Non resident temp tags are valid for 20 days from the date of issuance. Resident temp tags are valid for 30 days from the date of issuance. All cars are sold as-is where is with no warranty expressed or implied. All retail customers will be obligated to to sign an as-is where is acknowledgement as part of the purchase paperwork. We have recently started offering extended warranties due to customer demand, however they are at an additional cost, and not included in the price of the auction.
