Offered for sale, here on Ebay, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS for your consideration is an exceptional 1967 Jaguar E-type Series One 4.2 Liter Roadster needing completion. This car was purchased last year from it's longterm owner of Tucson, Arizona. This car was enjoyed for a period of years then disassembled for a total, ground-up, Concours restoration. The owner was not able to finish it because of health issues. The car appears to have left the factory painted Willow Green with Biscuit or Beige trim. I acquired this car approximately 12 months ago and had the entire body perfectly restored and repainted in period correct and appropriate Opalescent Silver Grey (basecoat/clearcoat) by a professional Jaguar body specialist. It was expensive, but the results are spectacular. The bonnet was completely disassembled, stripped to bare metal, cleaned, then carefully reassembled with new epoxy sealer to correctly glue the inner panels. It was then re-fitted and gapped to the car with the subframe assemblies attached. Complete bodywork was performed on the monocque, panels, and bonnet. The entire car was repeatedly blocked in primer, then painted with perfect results. It was a 3-4 month process from start to finish. The only replacement metal work on the car's monocoque were the front floor dipped sections and a new belly pan for the bonnet. The body is completely accident-free and rustfree. Even the nose of the bonnet is perfect. The car's front subframe set was also painted. The body is now ready for it's final assembly.The engine and rear axle assembly were sent out by the previous owner to a Jaguar specialist and were carefully disassembled and rebuilt. The IRS unit components were powder-coated and it is understood that the engine was completely rebuilt at great expense. The engine block, 4.2 liter engine 7E9870-9, is presumed to be it's original and matching to the car, but the cylinder head was purchased at the time as a brand new Jaguar unit, so it is therefore a later replacement unit with no number stamped on it. It is currently fitted with later Series Two valve covers. The gearbox was in fine order, so received only minimal attention. Some of the detail work on the subassemblies needs correcting to be accurate to Concours standards. The previous owner purchased a brand new set of (4) chrome wire wheels fitted with larger 205x15 period Pirelli Tires. The rear bumpstop brackets have been removed from the body to anticipate the fitting of the larger tires. Lots of other mechanical components were powder coated and restored but could use a refreshing and re-detailing. There is a large portion of original hardware that has been replated. The radiator has been rodded out and correctly repainted in black. There is a crate containing the carb set which the lids were polished, and they were in the process of being rebuilt. Overall, the car appears very complete with hardly any items missing. The car stayed in the same garage all of its life while in the previous owner's care, which is highly important when purchasing a disassembled car. The owner had most all of the chrome items replated except the bumpers, which were later test -fitted up to the car prior to final paint. The door glass and windshield are in OK condition but should be replaced for this level of a restoration. A portion of all the old trim was saved. Please examine all of the photos and call with any questions you may have. This car presents a scarce opportunity to purchase a highly desirable and appreciating classic Jaguar in a spectacular exterior color, with the new owner being able to decide his interior trim color. A painstaking, time-consuming, and expensive portion of this restoration has already been professionally completed, which realistically could equal 6 month's of restoration time. The new owner can bypass this grueling part of the process and enjoy his finished car much sooner, possibly in as little as 4-6 months from now. It is LHD Coupe number 877. It is a full matching numbers car and appears to have left the factory in the attractive early color scheme of Bronze with Biscuit trim. It has had only one thorough repaint in it's current Willow Green. This car was recently discovered in an old body shop in Riverside County, California, and has been garaged indoors there from 1977 ! It has been off the road for the past 37 years. It has a license plate frame on the rear of the car from Peter Satori, a well-known dealer that sold these cars new in Pasadena, California. It still retains the pair of it's original issue black/yellow license plates. There is some old paperwork included with the sale of the car that links it to the existing license plates - testament to the fact that this car has been registered here from the beginning. The car has some interesting early features such as the Roadster style seats fitted, the straight rear interior bulkhead, and the early smooth air cleaner triangle. It is a full matching numbers car and an excellent candidate for straightforward restoration. The engine turns nicely by hand and appears to have never been removed from the car. The car has never been largely disassembled and is very complete, except for a missing radiator and windshield top molding. It retains a lot of it's original clamps, clips, hoses, etc. and would prove to be a very original car for the restorer going forward. This early attractive E-type has a very good, straight body with minimal rust, being a California car for all of it's life. The undercarriage and floors are mostly excellent. There is some rust-through under the spare tire area in the trunk, the front left corner of the driver's footwell, and a small section under the battery box area, but all easily repairable. The rest of the body appears excellent, straight and solid with no accident damage. Panel fit all around is very good with no issues. There is a group of parts pictured that is included with the car. The windshield and driver's door glass has been removed, looks to be in good order, and is included with the sale of the car. This original glass appears to have a green tint to it...The car still retains it's original VIN plate as well as the two additional smaller plates "J-62" and 'Made in England". We have supported the rear of the gearbox with wood for shipping purposes, but have recently found the early style bracket in the spare parts...Overall, this desirable early production E-type is a rare find and offering. It has an enviable California history from new and has been largely preserved, being stored in a dry climate for the last 37 years. It is a full matching numbers example and left the factory in a spectacular original early color scheme. It will prove to be a great investment going forward. Proudly offered for sale, here on Ebay, from KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS, is an exceptionally nice and well-preserved Jaguar E-type Roadster. This car was purchased new in California and has lived here for it's entire life, under the careful stewardship of it's only owner - a lady physician. Rarely does a Jaguar Series One E-type Roadster become available for sale from the hands of it's original California owner. This car presented here has clearly been well-taken care of for all of it's lifetime. This car still retains it's original California title and first issued license plates, original purchase contract from new, along with it's jack, sales brochures, maintenance booklet, service manual, other associated literature, and original top boot. This car was purchased new in Long Beach, California by a 23-year old young lady in 1964. In 1967, the car was taken in to her local mechanic for some service work. Complaining of the uncomfortable seats and heavy shifting Moss gearbox, her mechanic recommended a changeover to the newer, upgraded 4.2 style seats and transmission. He had just acquired some items from a nearly new, low-mileage, damaged 4.2 Series One Coupe. At that time, her decision was made and the 3-year old car received the upgraded seats, engine, and gearbox from the Coupe, engine number 7E10573-9. The drivetrain has powered this 3.8 Roadster nearly all of it's life, and became available for all E types in late 1964 anyways with the introduction of the 4.2 model. The car was enjoyed and remained in good original condition until the mid 1990's when it was time to receive some restoration work. The car was entrusted to a specialist in Newport Beach, CA and a very careful, high-quality, full cosmetic restoration was performed with exceptional results. This included it's first and only respray in the original color along with a repainting of the front subframes, a correct full interior re-trim with a new cloth top and matching cloth top boot with bag, period Nardi steering wheel (more rigid than the original), new rubber kit, replated chromework, new windshield, new tires, and a mechanical re-sealing and tune-up. The car currently shows 103,000 miles which are believed to be original. The restoration has held up exceedingly well, still presenting beautifully today. This car starts on the button and runs and drives like only an original, preserved car could. It is mechanically excellent. It has never suffered from long periods of storage and has been exercised and loved from new. The bodywork displays excellent, original fit and finish, with preserved rustfree and accident-free sheetmetal.Overall, this car presents an unrepeatable opportunity to acquire a California example with an enviable single-ownership history from new. The E type Jaguar is proving to be a good investment and the Series Two models are currently very good value. This vehicle for sale here was originally a handsome British Racing Green car with black trim, chrome wire wheels, 4-speed with possibly air conditioning. It was in the process of having some bodywork prepared, and is currently gold. The body appears very decent overall and relatively nice and straight. There has been a small bump underneath and on the nose, and to the right headlamp area, but all fixable. The rest of the car looks to be very decent and in good order, as seen by the photos. All exterior panels look very nice and solid. There is some rust-through on the dipped portion of both front floors, and some underneath the spare tire area on the outside. These areas are typical and can be easily repaired. The rest of the car's underside looks very good. I have posted undercarriage pictures for inspection. The doors and hatch lid fit exceptionally well, and the bonnet lines up pretty good.The interior trim is decent. The seats are trimmed in black leather, are in overall good shape, and have no tears or rips. The door panels and rear 1/4 panel area are the original material and look very nice. The dash top pad is very nice with no cracks. The dashboard facia panel has an added layer of wood veneer. The carpets could use replacing. All of the instruments and switches look good and are original. The front and rear windscreens were removed in preparation for paint, but are packed carefully and included with the car. Please look at the car and photos. A few items are missing such as the air cleaner can and collector box, some chrome trim, and the alternator. But the car is mostly there, as you can see by the photos. The 4.2 liter engine is stuck from sitting and the cylinder head has been loosely installed for shipping purposes.There are some factory A/C parts that are also included.Overall, an attractive E-type Two-Seater Coupe requiring some work.
