Up for auction is a 1974 International Harvester Scout II, dark orange in color, great trail ride or beach vehicle!! This is a great truck. Came from a private collection and always stored indoors. Very rust free. Permanent convertible, it comes with no hardtop, though one could be added. GOOD: - paint is very good but a few scratches (see photos) - engine fires every time, havent had any issues with it not starting or running. Runs amazing. I have taken many long trips into Houston, (over 100 miles round trip) and never had any issues, no overheating, nothing. Runs every time, all the time. - all glass is good, inspection and registration is good - Has the new and improved ball bearing window crank handles. If you know these trucks you know what I mean. (expensive) - Has a custom stereo / TV / video player in the dash - seats are in great shape - 4WD works, have driven it around the property when it gets muddy. This inline jeep 6 cylinder engine will go all day long. - chrysler automatic bulletproof 727 transmission, never any problems - tires are pretty new - the shift boots are torn but there are new ones that come with the truck - easily digs through mud, or goes 70mph on the freeway, no problems with either. And looks good while doing it. - complete inside is bedliner. If it gets dirty, just hose it out!! Seats are weatherproof material as well. - all LED lighting outside (except headlights) - gets pretty good gas mileage since it is a 6 cyl - custom bumpers can pull trailers from front or rear (or mount removable winch) - Stereo works great, plays movies and may have bluetooth as well but I havent tried that. - GM steering column, key lock and tilt - center console - power brakes (no power steering) - Rust Free. Let me repeat, RUST FREE. You be hard pressed to find one this clean. BAD: - the engine has the common Jeep 6 cyl tick. If you read that it was the jeep 6 cylinder I am sure you expected to hear that. They always tick and still run 300,000 miles. - speedometer currently is not working, I will try to see if I can find out why. Maybe just disconnected cable. - gauges have been replaced with aftermarket, (I assume they are cheaper and work better) but I have a box with all the original gauges if the new owner wants them. Came with the truck. - a few nicks and scratches, mostly at the tailgate how it touches the rear bumper (see photos) - passenger side armrest broke but would be easy to replace (I can have done for the winner if it is not finished before the auction ends) This is a great looking, great running 4WD buggy for someone who likes to cruise with the wind in their hair. Take a look at other for sale and then come back. Keep in mind it is 41 years old and not a new car, but it is in good condition considering its age. Very rust free body and chassis. We do consider trades in the specialty or classic category. Please message or call with any questions:1-888-716-5333 Legal stuff: - All checks of any kind are subject to clear. - If you want to inspect the car set up an appt and do so BEFORE bidding. - Make sure you have the approval or parent, wife or whomever else may matter before bidding. - Deposits are NOT refundable. Selling on Ebay costs time and money.

Other than right side dents, body is in very good condition with no rust in the underside. 345 CID engine starts on first crank and is topped with a 4 BBL thermoquad carburetor. Rear axle is a positive traction Dana 44 (gear ratio 3.54) limited slip and the front is also a 44 with the same gear ratio. The transfer case is the coveted Dana 300, the identification plates are still attached to the housing. U-joints on drive shaft and transfer case recently installed new; front/rear shocks are also new. The dash-board is in great shape without any cracks and the instruments work except the oil gauge; after market gauge installed. The upholstery is the original and is also in great condition with wear on the driver's seat. All lights and turn signals work.

THIS IS A 1973 INTERNATIONAL SCOUT II WITH A BRAND NEW SET OF COOPER TIRES. MILEAGE UNKNOWN DUE TO THE AGE. VERY COOL BLUE COLOR WITH WHITE TOP. IT ALSO HAS A WHITE BIKINI TOP THAT CAN BE USED WHEN THE HARD TOP IS OFF. WHITE ROLL BAR AS WELL. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. HAS HEATER AND AIR...NOT A/C. UPDATED STEREO WITH REMOVEABLE FACEPLATE. I HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW. I HAVE NOT DONE ANY BODY WORK TO THE CAR. THERE IS RUST IN THE ROCKER PANELS. AND SOME RUST IN OTHER SPOTS..BUT NOTHING THAT I THINK IS TOO BAD. DOES NOT HAVE A/C...BUT I HAVE AND OLD A/C UNIT THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER GAVE TO ME THAT I HAVE NEVER BOTHERED TO INSTALL. NOT SURE IF IT IS COMPLETE OR IF IT WORKS, BUT I WILL INCLUDE IT IN THE AUCTION. I ALSO HAVE SOME SIDE MIRRORS THAT I WILL THROW IN AS WELL. I HAVE SPENT ABOUT $2500 ON MECHANICAL WORK TO GET THE SCOUT RUNNING WELL. THIS IS BY NO MEANS A SHOW TRUCK. IT IS A GREAT TRUCK TO TAKE THE TOP OFF AND DRIVE AROUND TOWN. I JUST DO NOT HAVE THE TIME OR MONEY TO REALLY FIX UP TO WHERE I WOULD LIKE TO GET IT. LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

Have owned this classic Scout since ~ 1990. Hate to sell but teenagers have taken over garage. Scout had significant rehab in 2004 which included: · New Paint/Wimberlin off white exterior, custom black canvas convertible top and interior upholstery; New carburetor, plug wires, air filter; Replace any rusted quarter panels and hood; Strip paint to metal and repaint with Wimberlin white; Install roll-bar and upholstered padding; Custom soft top, safari style (Specialty Top Co., Denver, CO); New Diamond Stitch upholstery (same fabric as soft-top); Rhino-lined interior tub and cargo area;Electronic ignition/new starter; New Headlights; New bumpers; New grill; 5 point harness seatbelts on rear seat (2); New shoulder/seat belts for front seat; New stereo/speakers (2012);Push button ignition installed (2013); Replace carburetor, plugs and wires (2013); Brand new Toyo Open Country Tires –less than 50 miles (Summer 2014); New Master cylinder (Summer 2014); Four wheel drive (4WD) with locking hubs; Air conditioner works, but needs Freon (small leak);Speedometer has never worked since I owned it, thus TMU. Could be a daily driver, off-road/rock climber, weekender, Ranch/hunting car, Scout enthusiast/collector car, or special occasion convertible. Never intended on doing a complete restoration, so most of the items above were done because they needed to be done, or I wanted to do the slight modification. Have probably forgotten other things done over the years. Since most of the Scout remains original, and there was never a “bottom-up restoration,” there are things that could still be done to improve, restore, or repair, but it drives great, looks great, and works well off-road. Get more positive comments on this car than any car every owned. Priced to sell quick @ $12,999.00.

This Scout has the original straight 6 with the 4-speed manual, it has a 4 inch lift with 35 inch tires. Pictures show the true condition of the paint and body, the top has rust in the usual locations for these Scouts. The picture of the right front fender shows the clear coat peeling, the right rear fender has paint chipped and shows signs of body filler, and the left rear corner has a dent that shows the paint chip and body filler. The interior has been redone with original seats and aftermarket carpet kit. The straight 6 is very reliable and the truck is mechanically sound, the mileage is not actual- when I bought the vehicle the speedometer/ odometer was not working. This is not the fixer-upper like most of these Scouts listed on here are, this one runs and drives, passes vehicle emissions test and was used as a daily driver for a 35 mile commute to work and back. If you don't like attention this is not the vehicle for you. Even when I stop at the gas station people want to take pictures or ask questions about it. It gets a lot of looks on or off the road.
