This engine has excellent reliability ratings (64% above average according to Forbes and in the Consumer Reports list of the top ten engines that reliably surpass 200k mi!) OUR ELEMENT'S STORY: My wife and I bought our Element in 2012 in Corvallis Oregon (FYI Eastern OR = DRY = no rust!). The original owner had the car consistently serviced at the same local Honda Dealership (Kendall Honda) and always according to Honda's recommended service schedule (I have the records to show you). My wife and I drove this car for the past 3 years. We have loved it and it has performed perfectly for us. We maintained it regularly and drove it gently (we have 2 young children and are very conservative drivers). Were it not for the fact that we recently decided to purchase a travel trailer and hence are in need of a vehicle that can tow over 5,000 lbs we would NOT be selling our Element. SUMMARY The Good: ? NO accidents. ? Excellent mechanical and structural condition. ? All functions and accessories work (except 1 LED light on the temperature control panel) ? Routinely maintained. ? Paint is shiny. Interior is clean. No rust ? Great in the SNOW + Excellent Utility vehicle; Reliable engine The Bad: ? Minor body imperfections: There are a few dings on the roof and hood (Presumably from tree debris/acorns, pine cones, etc). There is a minor paint scuff on the plastic rear side panel (seems like a parking lot rub). There are a couple of smallish scratches on the tailgate (inflicted by a bike pedal). ? Above average road noise due to the Element's design- rubber flooring vs carpeting (IMHO the easy of cleaning the rubber flooring makes up for the slightly above average road noise).
