I am selling my 2002 Black Honda Civic EX coupe. I recently moved into D.C. and no longer need a vehicle. -Interior is in great condition-AC and heat work great-Moonroof and other Civic EX features-Great gas mileage-VA safety inspection valid through May 2016 After buying it I put in $900 worth of repairs, including a new battery, major tune up, new spark plugs, ignition coils, PCV valves, Air filter, and valve cover gasket. I have the work order as well as a folder worth of maintenance records from the previous owner. -The car’s main issue is that the check engine light is consistently on. After extensive testing and replacing of the parts listed above, my mechanic brought in an electrician who confirmed the check engine light is on due to a glitch in the car’s computer. A new computer can be ordered from Honda, but since this is an older model of Civic they only make batches of the computers occasionally. It is possible to put your name on a waiting list with Honda and they will ship a new computer to you the next time they are manufactured. Mechanically there is nothing wrong with the engine, however since the check engine light is always on this car will not pass an emissions inspection. If you live in Fredericksburg or a county in VA where emissions inspections are not required, this isn’t too much of a problem. -There are some minor exterior scratches and scuffs in the paint job. The most noticeable is the scuff along the drivers sider under the passenger window and another scuff/slight dent in the wheel well. There are close up views included in the pictures. -The cigarette lighter, CD player, and remote control lock do not work. -The trunk can be a little tricky to close and keep shut. My mechanic replaced the trunk door actuator, but the real problem is that the trunk frame is a little bent. They corrected the problem as much as they could, but it sometimes takes a couple tries to keep the trunk closed. Overall the car is in great shape mechanically and should last for a long time.
