This 2000 Honda Insight is running great and it has had several recent repairs and upgrades that should keep it running strong for many years. Here's the history: I bought this car on November 2010 from the original owner. She had all repairs for the car done at the dealership and gave me a fat folder of all the receipts, which I still have. The IMA hybrid battery had been replaced by Honda a year earlier, in November 2009. The spark plugs, tires, front brake pads and rotors had also just been replaced when I bought the car. I gave the car to my daughter who drove it while she was in college. She had one incident with the car that you should know about: in the summer of 2012 while she was in Washington DC for an internship she had a minor accident that damaged the right front of the car. The repairs for that accident were done by Japanese Auto Clinic in Arlington Virginia. They did a fine job and I still have the receipts for their work. In January of 2013 the car started showing symptoms of a blown head gasket, so I replaced the head gasket and had the cylinder head resurfaced. All other gaskets and seals on the top half of the engine were replaced at the same time, and I had the machine shop check the valves and they confirmed that they were fine and needed nothing. After the cylinder head repair the car ran great until the fall of 2014 when the right front axle shaft developed some play. I didn't have any time to do the repair until the following spring so for a period of 5 months or so I canceled the registration and insurance on the car and just kept it in the garage. (I did run the car at least once a week to keep the engine and IMA battery healthy.) I finally got time to replace the axle shaft this August, so I renewed the registration then and have been driving the car for the past 2 months with no problems at all. Other repairs and new parts besides those mentioned above include: new driver's door latch; new Kenwood radio/CD player and 4 matching Kenwood speakers (includes the speakers behind the seats); K&N air filter; new Exide 12 volt batter 4 months ago; the leaky seat belt problem that afflicts nearly all Insights was fixed with new clips from Honda and I also put black window putty in the roof rain channels to keep water out; oil and filter just changed and regular oil changes have always been done with full synthetic oil; red seat covers added; tires just rotated; manual transmission fluid just changed when I did the axle shaft, and changed a year before that also; I have new front brake rotors and ceramic brake pads that I was going to install but then I realized that the current brakes are just fine so you can have these brake pads to install later or if you want I'll be happy to install the parts now after you buy the car; also included is a Genesis One grid charger programmed for this car, and the grid charger harness is installed so you can use it right away. The "Bernie" sticker on the rear bumper covers a 2 inch cut in the plastic bumper. Of course you can replace this sticker with whatever suits your own politics. :) Most of the driver's side was just repainted to cover some scratches that occurred when my son brushed the driveway wall. The paint I used is a very good match (from scratchwizard.com) so it's hard to tell that those panels were repainted. All splash shields are in place under the engine. No check engine light or IMA light. The car runs great and the IMA battery charges completely. Cold and strong A/C and good heat. The clutch is fine. The manual transmission shifts smoothly and cleanly with no grinding or any other problems. Clean title, ready to drive away. This car will serve you well for many more years to come. Please let me know if there are any questions I can answer for you. Thanks

2001 Honda CR-V, black, all wheel drive, manual transmission 167 K miles but the top half of the engine (cylinder head, valves and camshafts) was overhauled 18 months and about 6,000 miles ago just before I bought the car, and since then numerous other new parts and repairs have been added, including: - new water pump (18 months ago) - new alternator, distributor, spark plugs and battery (18 months ago) - new spark plug wires (2 months ago) - new Yokohama Avid Ascend tires (17 months ago) - new floor mats and windshield wipers (17 months ago) - new catalytic converter, both oxygen sensors, K&N air filter and valve cover gasket (17 months ago) - new driver's door power window motor, tailgate latch, and rear windshield wiper motor (17 months ago) - new timing belt, alternator belt, AC belt, power steering belt, oil pump, timing belt tensioner and oil pan gasket (14 months ago) - new Endyn crankcase breather tank and PCV valve (13 months ago) - new wheel covers (12 months ago) - new exhaust manifold and heat shield (14 months ago) - new front disc brake calipers, pads and rotors (8 months ago) - new rear brake drums (2 months ago) - new spare tire cover (8 months ago) - includes an official Honda service manual and various other parts: new spark plugs, assorted engine seals, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, and a new window regulator motor for the front passenger window which still works fine but it's slow so I had planned to replace it but didn't find the time. - manual transmission fluid, rear differential fluid just changed and engine oil and filter have been changed regularly. It's due for an oil change now so I will include 5 quarts of Mobil One full synthetic high mileage oil and a new filter. - There's a holder for a phone, satellite radio, or GPS unit mounted in the center of the dash - I just removed the two rusty spots that always build up behind the rear wheels of these cars, patched the area with Bondo and repainted. It looks pretty good now. The engine runs great--terrific power, the car climbs great. Heat and air conditioning work great. Smooth shifting 5-speed manual transmission. Power windows. Radio and tape deck. The interior is clean and odor-free. Overall really outstanding condition and many, many more miles left. The engine leaks a little bit of oil on the outside of the engine (it's not burning oil in the combustion chambers), so there's a slight smell of burning oil as you drive (not noticeable if you close the vents), and when the car is parked it will drip a few drops of oil on the ground. I think this is coming from high pressure in the crankcase that's forcing oil past a seal so I added the Endyn breather box to relieve the crankcase pressure and that did seem to help but it didn't eliminate the problem. The car runs well with the breather box but if you don't want to use it I can just seal off the top (that will still provide some help with the crankcase pressure). The engine is running so well now I didn't want to disassemble it further. I didn't mind adding a little oil from time to time (maybe a quart a month if I drove the car a lot). If you don't mind this small inconvenience I think the engine has lots of life left. There is also a small power steering fluid leak so you have to add fluid from time to time. You can see where the fluid is leaking, where the return hose connects to the return pipe, so I think the leak will go away if you just replace the return hose (and you may have to hacksaw off a bit of the pipe if it's rusted--I've had to do that on a few Hondas). This is another repair that I didn't find time to do but it should be easy. Clean title, ready to drive away.
