1965 FORD THUNDERBIRD CONVERTIBLE THIS AMAZING THUNDERBIRD WAS BOUGHT BY ITS CURRENT OWNER A LITTLE OVER DECADE AGO. BOUGHT JUST FOR A COOL CRUISER ON SUNNY DAYS AND CAR SHOWS… SADLY, NOT LONG AFTER IT WAS BOUGHT, THE OWNER STARTED THE CAR AND LEFT IT RUNNING IN HIS BROTHERS DRIVEWAY AS HE WENT TO SAY GOODBYE TO HIS FAMILY. BECAUSE OF A COMMON PROBLEM ACCOCIATED WITH THE LINKAGE IN THE STEERING COLUMN- THE ACCIDENTALLY SHIFTED IN REVERSE AND DAMAGED THE LEFT REAR QUARTER PANEL. BECAUSE OF THE OWNER BEING A PERFECTIONIST- HE DECIDED TO GO TO A SHOP THAT SPECIALIZED IN THUNDERBIRDS FOR A CORRECT “BODY ON” RESTORATION. THE PAINT THAT WAS ON THE CAR WAS A SHADE DARKER THAN THE CORRECT CASPIAN BLUE, SO THE ENTIRE CAR WAS RE-PAINTED THE CORRECT COLOR. THE DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED CORRECTLY. ALMOST EVERYTHING MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL AND HYDRAULIC WAS GONE THROUGH , RESTORED OR UPDATED !! THE PAINT AND BODY ARE IN EXCELLENT SHAPE AND SHOW WORTHY ( OUTSIDE OF A COUPLE OF VERY MINOR CHIPS DUE TO DRIVING TO SHOWS ). CHROME WORK IS IN GREAT SHAPE ALTHOUGH SOME MINOR PITTING / AGE DOES SHOW ON WINDOW TRIM / BUMBERS. ALL GLASS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE AND ALL POWER WINDOWS WORK GREAT. NEW CANVAS POWER TOP WITH “BACKUP” / FAILSAFE SYSTEM INSTALLED IN CENTER CONSOLE. INTERIOR IS ABOUT AS NICE AS IT GETS- NON-SMOKER OWNED WITH LITLE SIGNS OF WEAR OR ANY ABUSE / NEGLECT. WORKING GUAGES , NEW / UPDATED WORKING QUARTZ CLOCK. WORKING POWER SEAT. WORKING POWER ANT. UPDATED ORIGINAL – WORKING AM/FM RADIO. WORKING HVAC INCLUDING UPDATED COLD AIR CONDITIONING. WORKING GAUGES , LIGHTS, SIGNALS , HORN. ORIGINAL 390ci V8 WAS PULLED AND REBUILT BACK TO FACTORY SPECS ( INCLUDED IS A PICTURE “STEP BY STEP” BOOK OF THE MOTOR REBUILD ). ORIGINAL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT. ORIGINAL REAR WAS LEFT UNTOUCHED BECAUSE OF ITS GOOD CONDITION. This show car has 63K miles on it. It is a factory black vehicle and has the original factory invoice. It has had professional service and all records/ receipts are available. I've owned this car for over 20 years and I'm a former AACA senior master judge. This is a D code bird with the 312 motor. There are hard and soft tops. All components work well___ there are no funny noises, no smoke out the back and the tach works. There is no bondo in the car. The transmission was rebuilt two years ago. Interior, trim, glass, grill and trunk are all very nice. The chassis, engine and frame were recently cleaned and repainted at a restoration shop and there is a CD documenting all the work. 1957 Thunderbird Convertible. This is a pristine 57 T-Bird. Torch Red with the correct red interior. You will not find a better 57 T-bird at this price.
