1996 Ford Taurus with clean title and low miles for it's age. Whoever owned this car last was not kind to it cosmetically. However, after dumping $2000 worth of work into it, it seems pretty reliable for the time being. The Reasons It Is Cheap:Body and paint are old and beat up.Previous owner smoked in the car however we did not and it has aired out quite a bit.it will eventually need new tires and rack/pinion. because of this you need to keep an eye on the power steering fluid, if it gets low it becomes stiff-ish while steering (think ... learning how to drive on old cars/trucks before power steering was a thing). My S.O. is a pretty strong dude so it never really bothered him, plus if you keep the fluids topped off it doesnt have that problem. Just had the head gaskets fixed. Not sure about anything else as I am not a mechanic. Both my S.O. and I got our parent's old cars as gifts recently so we are selling the Taurus because we no longer need it. We live in apartments otherwise I would just garage it as a "just in case" car. It is old and beat up, but it Runs and drives well for being a beater car... We used it as a daily driver before being replaced.

Up for sale a very nice second generation Ford Taurus SHO. This is a full options car, black leather interior, power everything! Overall the car is in great shape, the 3.2L Yamaha double overhead cam V6 runs smoothly with no knocks, ticks, or smoke. Automatic transmission also shifts smoothly, and when you put your foot down the engine revs right up to the 7,000 RPM redline. Although high mileage it has been well cared for, with meticulous maintenance records from new. This car has been in Washington for its entire life. There is no rust or corrosion evident.Other than the obvious dent in the left rear door, the body and paint are in good condition; the clear coat is intact and - other than minor rock chips and some scuffs on the plastic trim - the paint looks great. There are no other dents and only one rock chip in the windshield. the car is 95% original with only the following modifications: all windows tinted (windshield has tint on the top strip), aftermarket wheels, Pioneer head unit, and K&N Filter (cleaning kit included). Tires are Hankook, tread life is at about 40%. Inside, the 10-way power leather front seats have no rips or tears and are still very supportive. There is some heavier wear on the bottom of the drivers seat left hand bolster The leather back seats are only lightly used and show almost no wear. All power and convenience options were selected on this car including: power windows, power door locks, keyless entry (with remote key fob, and driver's door keypad), sliding sunroof, power mirrors, illumination delay, cruise control, automatic headlights, fog lights, JBL Premium Audio with subwoofer, digital automatic climate control, and air conditioning (which blows ice cold). Known issues with the car: One wheel feels out of balance at highway speeds; there is a small oil leak (source unknown, but only a few occasional drips); oil in spark plug tubes, water leak in trunk (probably the rubber gasket); right rear power window does not work; the tilt forward function of the passenger power seat bottom does not work; occasionally when driving uphill under load the check engine light will come on; as a result of the impact to the left rear door, the quarter panel is slightly deformed and will rub on that tire if the suspension bottoms out. This doesn't happen often (or at all under normal driving conditions) but more spirited driving and hard cornering can cause it rub. There is already some wear from this, and I recommend replacing that tire. Overall however this car is in great condition, and is ready to run for whoever buys it. It is one of the great american sports sedans, and if properly maintained will last for years to come. All reasonable offers will be considered. Clean title in hand, ready for pick up!
