The car is the recipient of a 10 year old complete rotisserie restoration where the car was taken down to a bare metal shell and built back up to the beauty it is today.  Decoding Mustang GTs can be a tricky thing, but this car has all the right stuff. First we look to the rear of the car where you will find the factory GT exhaust brackets under the rear seats. Next if you move toward the back of the subframe, there are two brackets that are mounted inside the rear subframe. At the front of the car, there is the factory GT quick ratio HCC-AW gear box. Other notable items include rear tail lights that turn on when you flip the fog lamp switch. We all know the other items like dual exhaust, fog lamps bigger sway bars and front disc brakes to name a few but this car also has the correct, large bowl master cylinder as well.  In the interior you will find  complete Pony appointments, genuine Rally Pac gauges, a genuine dealer installed AC unit and the correct GT gauge assortment. The top was just replaced again last year and is in excellent condition.  The car has a very detailed undercarriage with correct overspray marks and a nice 2 stage paint job with color sanded and buffed finish. All of the stainless and restored original trim and the bumpers have new chrome as well. The tires are now radials with an elegant 1" stripe and handle much better than the original bias plys ever did.  Mechanically speaking, the car was rebuilt from front to rear. The drive train has just over 5,000 miles on it and all of the suspension components were new as of the restoration. The car is a breeze to drive with power steering and disc brakes. Remember, that GT cars had manual disc brakes. Keeping the passengers cool is a dealer installed AC system with the correct York compressor, and the convertible top is a power unit.  For the Mustang enthusiast looking the convertible to own, this GT is a blast to drive and shows very well.  VIN: 6F08A735812 Year: 1966 Make: Ford Model: Mustang Engine: 289.00 CI V8 Transmission: 4-Speed Manual Color: Blue over Black Odometer Reading: 3793 Financing and warranty options are available.  Please call us directly to acquire shipping bids, to answer any questions about this automobile, or to secure this special car for yourself. This car did not just get a new paint job and mechanical refresh. The car had a comprehensive, photo documented, nut and bolt restoration. Starting with a solid, Southern example, the car was stripped down to a bare metal unibody. The car received new quarter panels and the rest of the metal was solid and rust free. From there, it received body work from front to rear and a sparkling new base/clear paint job. The car has excellent body gaps, and is clean as a whistle from top to bottom. All of the stainless trim has been replaced as has the chrome. As with any complete restoration, all of the rubber is new as well. Also new are all the lights, light bezels, and grill. The undercarriage was refinished in the correct red oxide primer, and the engine compartment is finished in satin black. The interior floors and firewall were painted body color and have both been covered in sound damping/heat resistant material.  The car has a completely new interior kit using the desirable Pony appointments. The steering column has been converted to a new tilt unit and the car has a restored console as well. Under the dash you will find neatly run wiring from Painless, and keeping the passengers cool is a AC system from Old Air Products.  It runs on 134A and uses modern components. A Custom Autosound vintage looking radio plays your tunes via two speakers mounted in custom kick panels. All of the handles, dials and knobs are new and the speedometer cluster has been restored. The power convertible top is brand new as are the pump, hydraulic cylinders and lines.  The 289 CI V8 engine was a complete teardown/ rebuild and new uses an Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock carb with Petronix electronic ignition. It runs like a top and maintains a consistent 180 degree running temp. The transmission is a 4 speed Top loader and the rear end is a rebuilt 9" with 3.00 gears that are perfect for highway use.  The entire suspension has been rebuilt from front to rear and the brakes have been upgraded with a front disc setup that uses a dual bowl master cylinder. Everything has been replaced including the shocks, ball joints, tie rods, all suspension bushings, springs and steering lines. The car has a comfortable ride that feels crisp and new. Aiding the ride is a modern radial tire and the Magnum wheels set off the look.  There are a lot of Mustangs out there, but if you look closely, most are lacking in the quality area.  If you are looking for a totally restored car that is ready to roll, this Pony is for you.
