Among the Chevelles,GTOs and Cameros doing battle,the Mustang was Ford's weapon of choice. This 1970 Mustang Mach 1 is a rare find. Ordered out of Florida, it rolled off the production line in Metuchen,NJ as one of 857 428 Super Cobra Jet Drag Pak cars produced that year. Fitted with a close-ratio 4-speed transmission coupled to a 3.91 geared rear end and the overwhelming power of the SCJ Ram-Air big block, this car was purpose built to take on all comers on Saturday night. Not just for go,this Mach 1 sported the style of an eye-grabbing Calypso Coral exterior and wrapped around an impressive Vermillion interior. It was discovered in original as built condition with its original motor, transmission and complete drive train. After a complete nut and bolt restoration by Billups Classic Cars in 2010, it went on to receive the Editor's Choice Award at the 2010 Mid-America Ford and Shelby Meet as well as taking class winner honors as Best Cobra Jet.
