Offered for sale is a 1979 Ford Mustang Pace Car with less than 13,000 original miles!! Purchased 3 years ago from the niece of the original owner who bought the car new in Florida in 1979. Car went to Kentucky which is where I purchased from owner's niece. Car has been garaged its entire life and looks amazing. I have done the following since I have owned the car: General cleaning but keeping 100% originalRepaired leak in radiatorReplace head gasketReplaced spark plugs and air filter (original Motorcraft)Installed NOS original TRX wheel centersInstalled NOS original radiator overflow tank Car is 100% bone stock original including original tires with deep tread but some weather cracking - not a problem for local shows but wouldn't take across the country. Tops of front fenders appear to have been repainted but the rest of the car has original paint that looks great and original Pace Car decals. Interior looks amazing and Recaro seats look great. Original spare tire is brand new and never used. Sunroof louver in place as is the bag for the sunroof kept in the hatch area. The Motorcraft battery is brand new but has been painted to look more period-correct including the Motorcraft battery caps. The hood insulation is original. The windshield driver's side has a very small rock chip on the driver's side from a rock on the way back from a car show but has been repaired. The car runs perfectly and tuned exhaust sounds awesome. The only mechanical issue is 3rd gear - transmission shift great but for some reason it likes to come out of 3rd gear....I usually shift from 2nd to 4th and never have any problems. Noticed a very small antifreeze leak coming from the lower radiator hose - will replace hose this winter if the car doesn't sell. Absolutely no rust under the car. Looked a long time for an original, unmolested 1979 Pace Car - selling to purchase another classic next spring. You will not be disappointed - this car is beautiful and a great example of an unrestored survivor. Have won several trophies at shows including Best of Show at an all-mustang car show this summer.
