You may call me directly (Tim) at 360-936-9257 with any questions you may have. 1996 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Convertible finished in factory Laser Red Metallic 3-stage paint and black leather interior. Monster 281 cubic inch 4.6L Dual Over Head Cam 32-valve 4-cam high performance "modular" engine, same platform as the new Coyote racing engine. An incredible Hemi Ford with smooth power and a great torque curve; one of Ford's best engines ever. Very straight body, Laser Red Metallic paint has some fade but still looks great, as you can see. The black leather interior is in fantastic condition. Black convertible power top is also excellent with no rips or tears. Interior features full power, with everything in proper working order including power seat, door locks, windows, and top. Factory Mach stereo system is in proper working order as well. Tasteful Saleen upgrades include 18" Speedline genuine magnesium wheels mounted with low profile high performance tires, Racecraft-style 1.5" lowered suspension, huge front and rear sway bars, subframe connectors, Koni gas shocks, Saleen Style bar, Saleen Speedster 2-seater painted fiberglass Tonneau cover, and Saleen dash top gauge pod. Newer Flowmaster exhaust system, Cobra fiberglass lightweight hood, and more. Recent full top end service including removal and service of IMRC's and control, new top end gaskets, injector O-rings, injector cleaning, cooling system O-rings, etc. Fresh fluids and filters, fresh tune. Runs like a top and drives like a race car. Comes with Saleen Speedster 2-seater Tonneau cover as well as original black top boot. I purchased the Saleen Speedster Tonneau cover after owning the car; it was painted a factory Saleen color that is very, very close to my Laser Red. In the pictures it looks exact; in person it's a bit darker. Still looks like a million bucks on the car. It will require the front rubber mount hardware to operate. Not a perfect "10" (although close enough), but a well-maintained 92k mile original that will put a smile on your face every time you get behind the wheel. Clear title in hand, matches VIN exactly for shipping, inspection, etc. Please be prepared to pay in full within 3 days of auction's end via deposit into my Bank of America account, bank wire transfer, or cash in person. While every effort is being made to describe the Cobra as accurately as possible, it is a used vehicle and therefore being sold as-is, without warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied. I own an automotive restoration shop and can assist in finding you affordable transport for the vehicle; ultimately it will be your decision. Call Tim at 360-936-9257 to discuss.

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE In 1966, the Sports Car Club of America announced it would recognize sedans as a National Championship category for the first time. The professional series, called the Trans-American Sedan Championship (the "Trans-Am" for short) was to be made up of seven professional races at road circuits across the United States. Naturally, Shelby American was asked to develop the Mustang into a Group II sedan racer. Shelby American's Competition Director, Lew Spencer, sat down with Ford's SamSmith, Shelby American's Marketing Director George Merwin and Chuck Cantwell, Shelby's GT350 Project Engineer. The subject was FIA Group I and II Sedans, and how Shelby American would build them. It was decided that the cars would be purchased by Shelby American from Ford, on a D.S.O. basis, and sold by Shelby; however, they would be considered Ford products and would carry Ford Serial Numbers. An initial batch of Group II cars would be built in the Competition Department, reworked in a manner similar to the GT350 competition model. The Mustang Group II sedan and GT350 R-Model were mechanically identical. All of the notchbacks were ordered in Wimbledon White with black interiors, 271 Horsepower 4V 289 engines, four speed transmissions and 3.89 rear axle ratios with Detroit Locker "No-Spin" units. They also came equipped with 15" x 6" steel wheels, front disc brakes, adjustable "export" shock absorbers, export front end brace, heavy duty front springs and GT fog lamps. All cars carried the Ford VIN prefix 6R07K. Once the cars arrived at Shelby American they received virtually all of the R-Model mechanical parts and modifications. The suspension was essentially brought up to 1965 Shelby specs: A-arms were lowered one inch; a one-inch front sway bar and Monte Carlo bar were added along with the GT350 Pitman and idler arms. Over-ride traction bars were installed at the rear. Sixteen Group II cars were built and sold during the 1966 model year. Despite their small numbers, the Shelby Group II Mustangs earned points for Ford in five out of the seven Trans-Am races in 1966. This faithful Tribute of a vintage correct K-Code SCCA Group II racer boasts this heritage with bravado. The following list details these Shelby inspired enhancements as well as modern acceptable safety and performance upgrades.
