Modified 1997 Mustang Cobra with 432 rwhp, 385 rwft-lbs at wheels (508 hp, 452 ft-lbs at engine) For pictures and more info: 97cobra.smugmug.com for all the other pictures and video The good: This car is fast. With 432 hp and 385 ft-lbs at the wheels, this car will put you back in your seat. Convertible top to enjoy the outside air as you tear up the pavement. Smooth shifting TKO-500 transmission with MGW Short Throw Shifter. Front End MMR fully adjustable coil over setup (ride height, camber, castor) This is a heavily modified car. Although I have had no issues with reliability, there are a lot of things different from a standard Cobra, and it would beneficial to understand how it works and be willing to work on it yourself. I'll provide all the part numbers and manufacturer information for the equipment used in it for future reference. I am selling the car because I don't have the time to do the work on it any more, and I don't drive it. So, to be completely open, here are the things I know about that need to be fixed. All fall under the category of "mildly annoying". - The IMRC valves need to be removed and replaced with open spacer plates, then the engine re-tuned. This should get rid of the miss caused by them at the high intake flow rates (6000+ rpm). Even with that issue, the car makes about 452 ft-lbs at the engine. Fix it and it'll be even more smooth and probably make another 20 ft-lbs. The plates cost about 200 dollars from Maximum Motorsports and aren't hard to remove. - Convertible Top is worn and has holes. I have a new one and instructions to put it on and will provide it. - Oil cooler leaks coolant. There is an O-ring in the housing that is leaking by, resulting in a few drops of coolant on the ground when the car has been run and cools back down. Another easy fix. There is lots of information in forums about this. Even with this leak, I haven't had to add coolant yet. - Driver Seat Belt is fraying and needs to be replaced. - Tires are old and need to be replaced. I would replace the wheels also. It has the stock 8", and I was going to upgrade to the 10.5" R/9" F setup as well as installing the Maximum Motorsports rear suspension traction kit. - The strut brace doesn't fit around the new Castor Camber Plates. The brace needs to be modified slightly to fit.
