Thank you for viewing my auction. After being disappointed by the other Shelby GT500's out there (both condition wise and price wise) and looking at this one, please feel free to message me. Most with more miles are in the $35K+ range, not nearly as nice as this one, and with out the preventative maintenance, rear differential/drive shaft painting when near new, and $5K+ in upgrades. This car was over $45.760 new with its unique options and original owner payed $15K over that. If you remember, these cars were originally said to only be made for 2007 and 2500 units made, so most of us had to pay way over sticker, just to get one! This one was special ordered with its options. Very rare to find in such immaculate, garaged kept condition with these options and upgrades. Only hand washed and waxed. Absolutely everything works as it should. No odd noises, smells, vibrations, or issues. Stunning color combination. All body panels are original and no accidents. You can shave in the original Ebony Black paint. Hand rubbed to perfection with no swirls and looks like a mirror! No check engine lights, dash warning lights illuminated, or any issues, of any kind. Look at all the reflections in the beautiful paint in the pictures below. Pride of ownership shows in every aspect of this immaculate sports car. It drives like a dream. This cream puff is only being sold as I accepted this as a partial trade for another collector car and and have too many vehicles. My 150+ pictures explain this car well, including detailed underside shots. If there are no underside shots of another Shelby GT500 you are looking at, ask for underside photos, as many original underside components were NOT painted by SVT/Ford and started rusting immediately. This car was professionally done soon after purchase, so no rusty differential, driveshaft, etc. This car is spectacular!! This immaculate car honestly looks and smells like new! Seats obviously treated with conditioner often as they are silky smooth leather wise, and foam is still firm. Smooth power, transmission shifts perfectly, no overheating even in 110+ degree heat. Car needs nothing. Paint is like glass and very nice. All original Carlite glass had no chips. You will not find a nicer, immaculate, no worry Shelby GT 500 for this price!! I am VERY familiar with these GT500's as I purchased several new and have worked on many since new I know their good points and the bad. Everything on this car is taken care of and there are no worries!! 535 RWHP ( 600 Flywheel Horsepower) and 0-60 in 3.2 seconds with the upgrades. In manual mode, you shift with paddles up and down for all 6 gears. When you want to be lazy, or your wife wants to drive, put it in D mode and it will shift on its own. Has Bi-Xenon Headlights (Originally $700 option), Harmon Kardon Sound System (Originally $675 option and has 10 speakers), Adjustable Lumbar Seats (Originally $400 option), Rear Park Distance Control (Originally $350 option), and Aluminum Interior Trim (Originally $300 option). It is less than you'd think, even coast to coast this time of year, than you'd think. Stops very well with no pulls or moans. Has 4 wheel power discs brakes with ABS. Does not get hot even idling for 25 minutes. Goes down the road straight as an arrow. It starts right up and sounds great! Engine oil, oil filter, and air filter are all recent. Tires are around 85% in the front, and rears were just replaced (since pictures were taken last week) and are ZR rated Nitto 555 Extreame's front and rear. Wheels are 2 piece BMW units (gorgeous) and in great shape, even backsides of them have been periodically cleaned. Many original markings on the immaculate underside, which has been wiped down and looks beautiful. Look at the incredible original exhaust!! Car needs nothing at all to enjoy now and will continue to climb in value as the E46 is very sought after and there are few examples remaining not abused, let alone in this color combination. In my 20 years in the Mustang business, I have rarely seen, owned, or driven a nicer, well maintained, immaculate vehicle! Most would mistake this car for a near new one. The new BMW's, many consider to be not nearly as hands on, fun cars like the E46 version M3 like this one. I have owned over 1000 Mustangs, Shelby's, Big Block's, Boss's, Pantera's, Saleen's, Roush's, Cobra's. Lightning's etc, mostly collector models, and rarely see a vehicle (of ANY type) that is over 10 years old and still looks and drives like new. Interior even still smells new. Cigarette lighter never used. Nothing leaks, drips, or seeps. It is very easy to drive and maneuver. This car gets 23+ MPG on the freeway with ease. It starts the first time, EVERY time. It idles smoothly and does not smoke. No misses or hesitations. Not driven by kids, only mature adults. Original seat belts are excellent. Factory interior buttons look like new. Both keys and remotes are included as are the owner's manuals and handouts with leather case. Original tool kit is on underside of trunk as shown in the pictures. You simply will NOT find another like this. This is a one in a million E46 M3 Convertible, hands down! Underside, and engine box kept clean since new as is the exterior and interior. Carpet is immaculate and apparently covered with mats since new. Front rubber mats come with car, but are just to protect carpets and not original OEM. Seats look very nice too. No holes or unraveling anywhere an the original carpeting. Padding in seats and carpet feel new and tight. All power motors in windows, seats, mirrors, trunk, top, etc work like they should. Nothing does not work like it should that I know of or that BMW Master Tech found this week. Doesn't smell like it has been smoked in. Still has new car leather smell. Just look at the pictures, they really explain this M3 Convertible, hands down, better than I can. A/C is ice cold, and heat hot. A/C is colder than any car I have ever driven. Here in Palm Springs, CA, after 5-6 minutes, I have to turn the A/C to a higher temperature, unlike all my other vehicles, which will not freeze you like this car! Everything on this amazing E46 Convertible M3 works. No squeaks, rattles or wind noise with top up. Only flaws at all on this car that I can find or think of is there are a few rubber coated panels around seat belts that have rubber peeling, the rear view mirror is discolored inside, driver's side door interior panel has a small chunk missing the size of a pencil erasure on bottom, pass side center dash air vent missing center adjuster, there is a few small scuffs , chips, dings, and scratches in original paint, most of which has been touched up with OEM touch up paint and buffed. All hard to see unless I point them out and most are so small they would not show up in pictures. I feel this car has less wear an tear than you would expect for a car 10 years old. The E46 will never be made again, so grab a nice one such as this while you still can!! This car is spectacular and so much fun to drive! I have been told by anyone I have met or have known for 35+ years, that I am the pickiest person they know. I just believe in being up front and honest about any flaw I can see as I want to be treated in the same manner when I am purchasing something sight un-seen. This car has an amazing history from day one. Original Owner ( a UCLA college professor) traded his 64 1/2 Mustang Coupe for this car. He special ordered it from Yucca Valley Ford with the options he wanted. Very rare combination with the A code 289 4V V8 engine, C-4 automatic transmission, Interior Decor Group (otherwise known as "Pony Interior"), power steering, air conditioning, center console, GT package, AM 8 Track stereo (not installed but comes with the car as well as other original parts shown), vinyl top, deluxe push button seat belts, remote driver's side mirror, Day/Night rear view mirror, and 2 speed wipers. Car has NEVER been out of CA!!! It was built in CA, delivered in CA, and stayed in CA its whole life. Still wearing the original black and yellow, issued to this car, CA plates!! It was his nice day car ( he had a few other cars too) and always garaged. Only parts that needed replacement since new have been replaced. I would consider this an un-restored, only done what's needed survivor. 1 repaint since new. Original hubcaps, wheels, valve covers, air cleaner, smog equipment, AM 8 track, and radio panel bezel all come with the car. All original date code correct body panels, all original chrome, trim, suspension ( even upper and lower control arms have tight original ball joints with original rivets), and even the original Ford exhaust system with mufflers!!! When is the last time you saw that?!!! Nothing leaks, seaps, rattles, or requires attention. Everything works like it should including all lights, signals, gauges, etc. All windows glide up and down smoothly and all lock cylinders operate smoothly too. It starts right up, first time, and drives great. Points have been replaced by a Petronix electronic module, so no ignition issues. It does not overheat, ping, or have any drive-ability issues on pump gas. Everything is adjusted properly. It drives straight down the road with no issues, even at 85 MPH on the freeway. No rust bubbles, or Chinese parts anywhere on this car. This car has NEVER been offered for sale before, even when new, as it was special ordered. Super Snake style stripes can be easily buffed off if not to your liking. New American made weatherstrips installed through out the entire car. This also is an original GT A code car which is also rare. Original fog light switch still in place on the dash, proper duel exhaust floor pan plates under rear seats, and holes in the radiator support for the fog light wires still. It is also very hard to find a car such as this with all its original body panels and floor pans/aprons. Most original GT cars were beat up and rusted away long ago. Most you find for sale have import replacement junk all over them! I posted the door tag if you choose to decode, just Google "1966 Mustang Data Plate Decoder" if you don't already know the codes. This listing is long enough as it is, I don't need to add another paragraph explaining what many already know. I feel like I am writing a novel already!! I am very aware of all the junk out there. I look at them and appraise them all the time for people. This car is not one of them. It is solid, reliable, starts the first time and every time, does not overheat, stumble, rattle, or drive like an old car. All areas have been addressed to where you can drive it every day if you so choose to. It does not cut out, buck, run hot, hard to slow down, hard to steer, or have issues you would expect from most old vehicles. I can't stand driving most of them, and realistically, most people do not either. This car drives much like a much newer car and is fun to drive, where you look forward to driving again, not dreading it...Steering too is nimble and precise with the original power steering unit rebuilt and not all over the road like these cars were new. It does not wander or track all over the road even at 85 MPH on terrible CA freeways. The original A/C works great and will freeze you out of this car. I'm telling you, this car runs, drives, handles, brakes, and performs, like a much newer car, where you enjoy driving it. It sounds great too. Deep burble out of the exhaust, with out transmitting inside. Original Kelsey Hayes 4 piston caliper disc brakes rebuilt, and the GT specific mater cylinder has been rebuilt too. My shop can do anything your heart and bank account desires, but space is of the essence right now. I have owned a Mustang shop for over 20 years and am very familiar with these cars. I have bought, sold, worked on, and owned over 2500 Mustangs over the years. New KYB shocks in front and adjustable height air shocks in the back. New polyurethane bushings on the original 13/16" GT specific front sway bar. Original GT specific steering box is tight. Car was aligned when tires recently replaced and drives and steers like new. I have put almost 1K miles on the car and you can see from all my pictures how well everything has held up over the years and no leaks or seaps of any kind. Not a car you have to do any work to at all to hop in and drive anywhere. Obviously not driven in inclement weather. This is a very well sorted, original car where you are not buying someone else's problems. Suspension is tight, but still smooth. You can still see many original markings all under it. Original undercoating and red oxide primer with factory drips and sealers all over underside. Only 2 very minor rust areas I can find is a small area under battery box the around 3" by 1.5" that is easily fixable and an area that has a riveted small panel on pass front floor pan where A/C condensation drain line probably leaked. Fenders, doors, and valances don't appear to have ever been off this car as the hard as a rock seam sealer is still present and undisturbed. No rust bubbles on underside or corners of doors, or anywhere on the body like most others have, No chrome or trim has been messed with. Car does not wander and is not all over the road like most old Mustangs are. It does not pull to one side, even when stepping on the brakes hard. This car is meant to drive and enjoy. It is a true time capsule that you will not find again. How many original GT's exist still that are un-restored and original owners, let alone with so many original components still in tact?? Parts have usually been professionally rebuilt, rather than replaced the during the cars' 49 year existence. Car is available for inspection and can be driven or shipped anywhere. His twin sisters were left the car in his estate as well as his 69 Mach 1 which I also acquired. This is a beautiful car and PERFECTLY balanced as far as looks, safety, economy, handling, braking, comfort, reliability, and performance!! Re-live your childhood with something you didn't have the means to buy new or replace one you used to own, or add another to your collection of other worthwhile vehicles. This is the most balanced 60's Mustang you will ever drive. Engine and transmission are smooth as silk with no grinds or slips. Cylinder heads have been updated with hardened valve seats for today's unleaded fuels. New bearings, oil pump, gaskets, rings and seals (from age and as a precaution, not because needed)!! All professionally done 3K miles ago. Transmission also refreshed and shifts smoothly and perfectly. Brakes have been refreshed and there are no leaks or issues. Has never sat it's entire life for more than a month un-started. Always let get up to operating temperature, and driven around the block at least once per month since new. Car is easy to steer and very easy to drive. It is much more nimble, and light feeling than any new Mustang. It's easy to maneuver and park, more comfortable, and less expensive to maintain than most other cars. I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country. You will not find a nicer one for the money that is this nice and to this caliber and pride of ownership and it will only continue to go up in value. NADA classic car blue book with this cars options is $14,877 low, $36,530 average, and $55,210 high. 60's Mustangs, especially specialty models such as this, have gone up 60% in value the past 3 years and continue to climb!!
