This 1965 Mustang coupe is just the right kind of car to get started in the hobby and no collection is complete without one of Ford's pony cars. It's not perfect, it's not a horsepower monster, but it is a clean, dependable, fun way to have fun in an old car without breaking the bank. No other car can deliver the experience of an early Mustang for so little cash. You can hardly go wrong with a bright red Mustang, and while it was originally Springtime Yellow, the current color is closer to Poppy Red, which means you're going to get a lot of attention. It was never intended to be a show car (coupes just don't command the prices to justify a $10,000 paint job), but it presents rather well and you won't worry about driving it just about anywhere. Rain? No problem. Bugs? Forget about it. It's got a clean, honest look that works best on coupes and it's been spared the stripes and wings that plague so many other ponies. You'll note that it fits together extremely well, with good gaps and tight seams all around, so it has probably never been wrecked or rusty and seems to have led a pretty good life. A few chrome pieces make the Mustang look dressy, including the 1965-only grille with the cross-hairs, the quarter panel insert, and, of course, a shiny gas cap in the center of the rear panel. You'll also note two exhaust pipes hanging under the bumper, but we'll get to that in a moment. The black bucket seat interior is how this car was originally delivered and it's in very good shape overall. It's probably a combination of original and replacement parts, because some things are just too nice to be 50 years old, including the carpets and the seat covers. There's a deep-dish steering wheel that's wrapped in an aftermarket cover, so it has a thicker rim that feels great, and the standard instruments keep an eye on the basics. The dash pad, headliner, and other soft parts don't need any attention at all, and with an AM/FM/cassette radio powering speakers on the rear package shelf, it's ready to go. The shifter for the 3-speed automatic transmission falls easily to hand and looks great between the seats and the back seat is in great shape, too. A neatly detailed trunk with a proper plaid mat and spare tire with cover makes this little car feel complete, and you'll note there's no sign of the original yellow paint, so the respray was quite thorough. Experts will note that the VIN contains a "C" which means a 2-barrel 289, but somewhere along the way someone has installed a smooth-running 200 cubic inch inline-six, which is hardly a handicap. It's rebuilt and has a legendary reputation for durability and smoothness, and if you look around, you'll find a lot of guys who are very passionate about this engine. It looks quite stock with Ford Blue engine enamel, but it's dressed up with a chrome valve cover and open-element air cleaner that has a definite Mustang vibe. The transmission shifts crisply and smoothly and with 2.80 gears out back, it's a wonderfully efficient car on the highway. The exhaust has a 1-into-2 muffler out back, which explains the dual exhaust and it gives the six a great sound that's a little different than all the rest. You'll also find a new gas tank out back and 195/75/14 whitewall radials on stock steel wheels with traditional Mustang hubcaps. For entry-level fun, it's hard to beat a Mustang coupe. Everyone loves these cars and few will realize just how affordable they are. A great opportunity for the first-time classic car buyer. It's also nicely finished with an easy-to-own six-cylinder engine and automatic transmission, making it one of the smartest collectable icons you can own. Bright red Mustangs are a staple of the old car community, but nobody ever seems to get tired of them. This looks like a good approximation of Signal Flare Red, but whatever it's called, it looks great on the handsome convertible bodywork. Clearly a lot more than the asking price was pumped into the project and they seem to have started with a decent car, so it was relatively easy to make it look so good. It's not perfect, but if you want a Mustang to drive, this one has the right look and a no-worries attitude that doesn't mind a little rain. Fortunately, it hasn't been covered in stripes or fake badges and keeps its honest entry-level look that was probably a lot more common in the late-60s than it is today. The chrome and other bright pieces are in good shape, and you will likely discover like all Mustang owners eventually do, that everyone is your friend when you drive a vintage Mustang no matter what's living under the hood. The bright red interior is quite nicely turned out, with relatively recent seat covers on the low-back buckets that duplicate the originals in pattern and materials. The three-spoke steering wheel is standard Mustang-issue and looks sporty with a leather wrapper, while the instrument panel offers a complete array of GT-spec gauges that became standard equipment in 1966. The carpets are a little faded but that doesn't diminish the appeal of the Mustang's interior, and yes, there's a console running down the middle, a nice addition to any Mustang's interior. An AM/FM/cassette radio lives in the dash, but no cutting was required for the installation, and there's a modern cup holder setup to make it a bit more practical. It includes a white convertible top that's in good condition, as well as a matching red boot to keep it clean-looking with the top down. Pop the trunk and you'll find a reproduction trunk mat and a full-sized spare tire with a matching cover. The engine is a nice-running 200 cubic inch inline-six, which really was the heart of the Mustang lineup for the early years. All the signs point to this being the Mustang's original engine and it's nice to see that it hasn't been "upgraded" to a V8, because the Sprint 200 is a fun engine in its own right. A "Powered by Ford" valve cover and a silver air cleaner add some zip to the under-hood area, and all the major components are in excellent shape and ready to enjoy. It still exhales into a single exhaust system with transverse muffler, and the undercarriage is in good shape with plenty of evidence of a good life in a car-friendly climate, although it's mostly original. The 3-speed automatic transmission shifts nicely and with highway gears out back, it has plenty of punch around town but cruises happily at modern highway speeds. 14-inch steel wheels with classic wire wheel covers wear recent 195/75/14 whitewall radials. The Mustang still represents a lot of affordable fun, so if you're looking for and affordable yet popular way into the hobby, this handsome little convertible is an excellent choice. Keep everything that's great about a 1967 Mustang fastback, and subtly upgrade it in ways that improve performance and comfort without diluting its essential "Mustang-ness." A slam-dunk in every possible way, this pony is ready to play! From the GTA grille to the bright white rocker panel stripes, this fastback screams performance. And if you're going to drive a big flashing advertisement for speed like this, you'd better be sure it's right because all eyes will be on you. As a result, the bodywork is nicely done and the vivid electric blue paint jumps out at you right away. Just sight down one of those quarter panels and you'll see crisp reflections staring back at you. The doors line up just so, and the hood fits right. The only possible demerits are the use of some original trim and maybe a few chips that only prove this Mustang was built to drive. The paint is called Super Sonic Blue, and it glows like it's radioactive or something, especially when the sun's going down and the light's hitting it just right. There are proper GTA badges on the rockers, but even without them, there's no question what this car is, which probably speaks loudly of its status as an icon. The interior is pretty stock, and when the design is right, is there any reason to add a bunch of upgrades? The bucket seats wear correct pleated seat covers that are in good condition and the center console with the automatic transmission's T-handle shifter is a critical part of the GTA's street cred. A handsome wood-rimmed Grant steering wheel looks a lot like a Shelby piece, and it frames the original gauges, which are joined by a pair of Auto Meter dials for oil pressure and temperature. An updated stereo head unit lives in the original AM radio's slot in the dash, just above the cool "garage door" storage compartment that was a cool feature on the '67s. The back seat shows a little ear and some fading, which is probably inevitable given the fastback's big rear window, but you can't beat the practicality of a fold-down rear seat. In addition, the trunk is ready for your gear and offers what appears to be a recent gas tank. The engine is a torquey 390 cubic inch V8 that was the top engine in 1967. Upgrades include an Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel carburetor, trick open-element air cleaner, and a set of beautiful ceramic-coated long-tube headers. The engine is covered in Ford Blue paint and works rather well with the blue bodywork. Custom finned aluminum valve covers are a retro touch that looks right at home in this vintage Mustang and a heavy-duty cooling system with dual electric fans manages the BTUs. It's backed by a stout C6 3-speed automatic and a 9-inch rear, so the powertrain's virtually bulletproof. Disc brakes were added up front, along with a new front suspension that includes tubular A-arms and power rack-and-pinion steering. Big block mufflers sound downright wicked with the snarky big block, and it sits on classic Halibrand-style alloys and staggered 245/40/17 front and 275/40/17 rear performance radials. With a cool look, big block power, and great build quality, this is a resto-mod that hits all the right notes. Offering an awesome color combination, factory A/C, and an entertaining drive, this is a lot of Mustang for the money. Code 5A is called Pewter in Ford vernacular, and it looks absolutely incredible on the "flatback" bodywork. Even with the stripes and blacked-out hood treatment, this Mustang looks sophisticated, like a muscle car for a grown-up, and loses none of its performance attitude despite the subtle color. It was freshly repainted in the last few months and looks extremely good, with a deep shine and just the right combination of silver and gold in the final mix. The Mach 1 was the top-of-the-line offering in 1972, and you'd better believe Ford wanted to get it noticed, so it wears a front chin spoiler, a performance hood with NACA (not NASA) style hood scoops, and a rear wing out back. It also gets traditional Mustang performance items like the rear window slats, lower valence with trumpet-style exhaust tips, and the aforementioned stripes, which are an obvious riff on the Boss 302 graphics. There's not much chrome aside from the rear bumper, and that's in excellent shape, and even the body-colored urethane front bumper looks pretty much as-new. This is an easy car to like. The two-tone black and silver interior nails the same sophistication that the bodywork enjoys. The seats have obviously been re-covered, and since the original color was green, just about everything else has been replaced at some point. There's some age on the carpets on the lower half of the door panels and the center console has a few nicks, but there's nothing in here needing any immediate attention. The factory gauges include a tachometer and auxiliary dials in the center stack, as well as a clock on the console. Factory A/C is backed by modern components working behind the scenes to make it efficient, and there's an AM/FM stereo radio in the middle of the dash that powers speakers in the rear quarter panels for surprisingly big sound. The trunk is clean and carries what may just be the original spare tire and a jack assembly. The 351 cubic inch V8 under the hood was rebuilt a few years ago and pretty much sticks to the factory recipe. Up top there's a 4-barrel Holley carburetor, but otherwise it is the way Ford intended. The big air cleaner assembly dominates the engine bay, but the modern A/C compressor gives you a little breathing room and you'll note that all the hoses are new. It could easily be taken up a notch with an afternoon of detailing, but even as it sits, this is a great driver-grade car that's obviously led a good life. It starts easily, idles well, and moves with surprising torque on tap, which is aided by the quick-shifting C4 3-speed automatic transmission. Flowmaster mufflers add that familiar Ford Mustang performance exhaust note and Magnum 500 wheels never looked better than when they're mounted on one of these early '70s Mustangs. 205/70/14 Goodyear radials at all four corners deliver sure-footed handling and an easy ride. With the prices on early Mustangs inching up all the time, we're seeing some gains on these cars as well. We love the look of this Mach 1 and with all the heavy lifting already done, there's nothing left to do but get in and have some fun. This 2007 Saleen Mustang Parnelli Jones Edition is more than just a decal kit; it's a full-blown Saleen makeover wearing one of the most distinctive paint schemes in Mustang history. If this car doesn't make your heart race, well, maybe it's time to start collecting stamps. The retro-styled 2007 Mustang was ripe for customizers to start mining the past, but none did it so successfully as this Parnelli Jones tribute car built by Saleen. One part vintage Boss 302, one part modern Saleen, and one part race car, it has an awesome look that is nostalgic but still very contemporary. Finish quality, as you'd expect from Saleen, is exemplary, and the custom Grabber Orange paint is very, very close to the original 1970 hue. The finish is still like new, and with only 2340 original miles, that really shouldn't be a surprise. Boss 302 stripes, big gumballs on the doors and hood, and, of course, a Shaker hood all contribute to the awesome look. And for nostalgia fans, it also includes a chin spoiler, rear window slats, and a rear wing, all designed to emulate the car Parnelli Jones used to dominate the 1970 Trans-Am series. Heck, it's even got hood pins! The interior is a bit more restrained, but even here there are custom touches and tips of the hat to the vintage ponies that played such a big role in Ford's motoring history. Most obvious are the Grabber Orange seat inserts in the deeply sculpted buckets, which add a bit of color to the otherwise monochromatic interior. The pillow-tufted seat backs are reminiscent of '70s Fords as well, and the entire dashboard is a retro tribute to the 1968 Mustang GT. A few tasteful upgrades complements of Saleen include a special "PJ" horn button, a pair of auxiliary gauges in their own pods atop the dash, and the signatures of both Steve Saleen and Parnelli Jones himself, right there in the center stack. A few chrome dress-up items add some sparkle and custom gauge faces are a constant reminder that this isn't a garden-variety Mustang. It's all in pretty much as-new condition and these cars only came loaded, so it's got just about every option you could imagine. The trunk is untouched, both in terms of modifications and condition, reinforcing this car's as-new image. The engine started out as a garden-variety 4.6 liter V8, but the wizards at Saleen punched it out to a real-world 5.0 liters, the limit for Trans-Am series competition. The Shaker hood is completely functional, and the rest of the engine was treated to things like a set of ported aluminum heads, custom camshafts, forged pistons, steel crank and rods, and oversized fuel injectors, all of which are designed to emulate the race feel of the Trans-A Boss 302s. It's not necessarily a horsepower monster (but there's certainly plenty on tap) but rather a powerplant that feels like it could rev forever and this car is very, very fast. The 5-speed manual gearbox shifts beautifully and powers a stock rear end which now hangs on a sophisticated Watts linkage suspension for improved handling. In fact, the whole suspension got a Saleen makeover, including coil-over shocks, oversized sway bas, and upgraded bushings. A Saleen-spec exhaust system sounds downright wicked and those 19-inch custom wheels emulate the period Minilites used in competition, although they now wear 285/35/19 Pirelli rubber. Future collectable? Absolutely. This car is so filled with history that you almost need a trailer to haul it all. Beautifully built, insanely fast, and perfectly balanced, this might just be the ultimate retro Mustang. This 1965 Mustang fastback is put together just the way you would have done it in '65, too, with a fantastic color combination, an A-code 289, and a set of Shelby-style stripes just to make it special. Although it was a late arrival to the pony car party, the 2+2 became the most iconic symbol of Mustang performance in pretty short order. Familiar Wimbledon White fastbacks started dominating at race tracks around the world, and even street cars like this were respected and admired by almost everyone. With a nice-looking repaint in the original code M Wimbledon White, this fastback still looks great and proves that class never goes out of style. The blue Lemans stripes along the center of the car emphasize the car's performance aspects and give it a period-correct performance look, especially with the addition of a small hood scoop and Plexiglas quarter windows, which were a Shelby signature look. All the correct trim is there, including the familiar running pony emblem up front (including the 1965-only crosshairs), shiny chrome bumpers, and a GT-style rear valence with louvered exhaust tips poking through. Of course, there's that all-important '289' badge on the front fenders, which means there's plenty of power to match this car's looks. The attractive blue vinyl interior is a wonderful contrast to the Wimbledon White paint, and yes, this is how it was outfitted from the factory (code 22 is Blue vinyl). Of course, all the soft surfaces are new, including seat covers and carpets and with the fold-down rear seat, cargo space is quite useful. A center console adds a sporty attitude to the fastback along with a wood-rimmed steering wheel and matching knob for the 4-speed shifter. The five-gauge instrument panel was part of the GT equipment group and didn't become standard equipment until 1966, but it looks right here and all the gauges are in excellent shape with clear markings and lenses. A simple AM/FM radio lives in the center of the dash and the heater controls and fan are surprisingly effective. In back, the trunk is lined with a correct plaid mat and carries a full-sized spare tire with matching cover. Everyone knows there's no real way to tell if an early Mustang is "numbers-matching" but this one does carry a correct A-code 289, which means a 4-barrel carburetor and 225 horsepower. They didn't take any liberties with the detailing, so it wears simple chrome valve covers and a recent coat of Ford Blue engine enamel. Someone has added a Monte Carlo bar and export brace, which really work well to improve the handling and feel of the car, and there's a big radiator up front to keep it cool. The engine is backed by a quick-shifting 4-speed manual gearbox and out back there's a 3.00 gearset so it cruises easily on the highway. Long-tube headers and a new dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers provides the right muscle car soundtrack, and you'll be pleased with how neat and tidy things are underneath. Early Magnum 500 wheels always look awesome, with this car wearing a set of 205/70/14 Kumho radials that fill the fenders perfectly. A fun car that will only become more desirable in the coming years, this Mustang is a turn-key hobby car that everyone can appreciate. Call today! This Black Jade 1969 Mustang Mach 1 is a one-owner car that offers a smooth-running 351 cubic inch V8, a 4-speed manual transmission, and an honest look that's perfect for cruising the streets this summer. There's not much argument that the '69 Mach 1 is one of the best-looking Mustangs of all time. Aggressive, perfectly proportioned, and with details like the hood scoop and those cool quarter panel vents, it looks every bit the ideal muscle car. Code C Black Jade is the car's original color, and it was repainted in 1984, so it has a wonderfully authentic look to it that could almost pass for original. Of course, the blacked-out hood treatment, Mach 1 stripes along the flanks, and the matching decal out back all add to the predatory look, and there's no question that any fastback Mustang is a desirable machine. The chrome bumpers have probably been re-plated, and all the emblems and badges are either original or good reproductions, with nothing on the car looking too fresh or too old. Early Mustangs don't get much better-looking than this. Black Clarion Knit high-back buckets anchor a well-preserved interior, but you know this car was built for fun. The Mach 1 is easy to identify from the inside, thanks to the red highlights on the seat backs and the red rubber floor mats that always grab your attention Seat covers are probably original, as are the door panels and carpets, and it is all in very good condition. The gauges offer clear faces and operate as they should, with the original AM/FM radio in the dash delivering some entertainment. Nice to see a console in a Mach 1, which neatly bridged the sport and luxury sides of the Mustang's personality, and the 4-speed still shifts with precision. In back, there's a fold-down seat that makes the fastback the most practical of Mustangs and the trunk offers a correct mat, full-sized spare, and jack assembly. While the Boss 302 might have received all the glory, if you wanted effortless power without a gas-hungry big block, the 351 was the better choice. Like all automakers, Ford was playing games with horsepower ratings, pinning the M-code 351 4-barrel at 290 horsepower, but performance results and subsequent testing suggest that the real number is probably a bit more. The big air cleaner, valve cover, and water pump all wear proper Ford Blue engine enamel, and a few reproduction decals help add authenticity. Like the rest of the car, it's mostly original and in good order thanks to just one loving owner, but we do see a lot of new parts, including a fresh fuel pump and a thick radiator up front. The 4-speed manual gearbox feeds a 3.00 rear end, making this a very easy car to live with on the highway. The car is solid underneath, although not detailed for show, and the exhaust sounds just about right for a vintage Mustang. Styled steel wheels are correct and wear a set of 215/70/14 blackwall radials. Documented with the original window sticker and a lifetime of maintenance receipts, this is about as honest as Mustangs get. It sounds right, offers a stylish interior, and will be a source of pride every time you take it out of the garage. I've always found that early Mustangs look best in subtle colors. With that classic look that everyone over the age of six can instantly identify, it doesn't need to shout. However, that doesn't mean this one needs help in the aggression department, as the bright red paint with black rocker stripes give it a high-performance look. On the street, other guys with fast cars will quickly size this one up as a threat and leave it alone, which was entirely the point. It also features clean bodywork that makes it look easy, but in reality there are hundreds of hours invested in the sheetmetal and paint, which were done several years ago and still look great. You can see how neatly everything lines up, a sure sign of careful workmanship, and with a nice shine, it will get appreciative glances from guys who know the good stuff when they see it. The original trim remains, so there haven't been any customizations or alterations; from the original chrome bumpers to the 289 badges to the polished stainless window trim, this pony looks right. The interior is fortified with new seats and door panels, done in the correct style. There are also recent carpets on the floor, bright hardware, and a minimum of add-ons to distract you from the original feel. The dash pad and headliner are probably original and perhaps showing their age, but they're certainly usable as-is and only stand out because everything else is so nice. The factory gauges are in good order, covering only the basics, but that's how these cars were when they were new and we're glad to see that nobody tried to dress it up as something it isn't. In the center of the dash, you'll find an AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit that sounds pretty darned good, and an original steering wheel with chrome spokes looks right at home in a vintage Mustang. No worries out back, either, where the trunk has been finished with a reproduction mat and a spare tire with matching cover, so it's ready to travel. Ford's snarky 289 is the right choice in an early Mustang, with its light weight, smooth torque, and wonderful feeling of legitimate performance potential. This is an original A-code car, so the 4-barrel carburetor is correct and it runs superbly. Once again, they didn't over-do it, and isnetad focused on making it fun to drive and reliable. There's a big aluminum radiator up front, a recent alternator, and a few chrome dress-up pieces that could be considered period-correct. It's backed by a C4 3-speed automatic and an 8-inch rear that the door tag claims is full of 3.00 gears. A rumbling dual exhaust with glasspack-style mufflers sets the right tone, and those attractive 14-inch Torque Thrust wheels and 205/70/14 BFG radials are a cool upgrade on any vintage pony. Affordable fun has always been the Mustang's mission, and this awesome coupe definitely delivers. Inside, outside, and underneath, it is a quality machine with big horsepower from the stroker small block engine and a classic look that will never get old. One glance at that dark blue paint job and you'll have some inkling as to just how nice this car really is, but it's only when you get up close that you see how much time and effort went into the car. It was repainted in 2008 and has been driven and enjoyed a bit, but overall it's still quite nice. The panels are as straight as they were when they were new, perhaps even better, and the fenders, hood, and trunk lid are brand new. The gaps are the result of someone spending many hours getting them just right. And the final finish has been buffed and rubbed until all flaws were exorcised and the finish was miles deep. Fortunately for Mustang fans, it hasn't been chopped, cut, or substantially modified, so the fabulous traditional Mustang look remains. All the chrome is still in place, with much of it being original and in good order, and all the emblems and badges remain. Slap a set of steel GT wheels on it, and it could easily pass for a stocker with a custom paint job. Inside, however, it's more of the same, which is a good thing in this case. The two-tone upholstery has a stock look, with buckets up front and a wood-rimmed steering wheel for the driver. Contrasting blue carpets and nice-looking door panels make it look fresh and clean inside and aside from speakers in the kick panels, you'd never know about the modifications underneath. The original dash has been restored, with nice-looking original gauges for the driver, plus an AM/FM/cassette stereo that sounds great, even with the top down. The top is a correct black vinyl unit with the Mustang's familiar split rear window, and yes it folds effortlessly with just the touch of a button. There's also a neatly finished trunk with correct mats and a spare tire with matching cover. A 347/413 HP cubic inch aluminum head stroker motor under the hood delivers big power in a small, lightweight package, preserving the Mustang's performance without sacrificing handling. It's all show under there, too, with polished billet aluminum and chrome everywhere. There's an aluminum radiator keeping everything cool, and yes, that is indeed Steve Saleen's signature. The serpentine belt drive system for the accessories is a cool piece and the bright red ignition system components really dress things up. Shorty headers connect to a 2.5-inch dual exhaust system that has that familiar Mustang bark and the C4 3-speed automatic was fully rebuilt about 8000 miles ago. The suspension is stock, although the power steering system has been recently serviced, and the underside is in good order with no signs of life in a northern climate. Flashy 14-inch wheels wear fresh staggered 205/70/14 front and 235/60/14 rear white-letter radials. This is one of those great cars that needs more than space than we can possibly give it here. Putting traditional high performance within reach of almost everyone with a checkbook, it shouldn't be a surprise that Ford built millions of them. However, for those same reasons, finding one that hasn't been abused, raced, cut up, modified, and thrashed to within an inch of its life is definitely a challenge 20 years later. Fortunately, we were able to round up this gorgeous 1992 Mustang GT convertible in a stunning red-over-white color combination. Aside from a set of ubiquitous high-flow mufflers, it is completely stock, and with just about 34,000 original miles, it has never been used as a daily driver. The original red paint has survived the intervening years quite well, showing a nice gloss and surprisingly little orange peel, given how the factory was applying paint back then. The urethane ground effects that give the GT its unique look are in excellent condition, and both doors fit well because the body hasn't been torqued by big horsepower and sticky tires at the strip. There are a few touch-ups here and there, as you'd expect, but the overall state of preservation is pretty impressive considering the lives most of this car's siblings must have led. All the black rubber parts that usually turn gray with age and UV damage are supple and dark, including the window sills and inserts on the trunk-mounted luggage rack, which was Ford's way of disguising the CHMSL on the ragtop Mustangs. And, of course, the "cheese grater" taillights are in excellent condition, the headlights haven't turned cloudy, and, well, someone clearly loved this Mustang. The white leather interior is inviting and functional, with supportive buckets that were some of the best on the market in 1992. The dash is simple, with great high-visibility gauges, fingertip controls for headlights, and big rotary knobs for the A/C system. The combination of white leather seats, two-tone door panels, and red carpets and dash works really well, giving the Mustang a kind of upscale look inside, and there's virtually zero wear, even on the high-traffic side bolsters. Heck, even the center armrest and ashtray door are intact, two plastic items that rarely survive the years. This GT came loaded with just about every option, including A/C, power windows, mirrors, and locks, cruise control, interval wipers, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo which still sounds decent. A white power top offers a glass rear window and folds itself in seconds with the touch of a button. In the trunk you'll find an optional cargo net as well as a CD changer that is the lone interior upgrade. The 5.0 liter EFI V8 under the hood is the reason the Mustang was the pony car of choice for an entire generation. Great sound, bulletproof performance, impressive torque, and an aftermarket that could transform it into anything your wallet could afford. This one is completely stock, and hasn't been raced or abused, and wears only the aforementioned mufflers, probably for sound as much as anything else. There are signs of recent maintenance under the hood and with a quick-shifting AOD 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, this Mustang is a blast in cut-and-thrust traffic. Super clean underneath, this is the kind of Mustang we all long to find and which is becoming increasingly scarce today, and it shows zero evidence of ever being in the snow. Even the original 16-inch "Pony" wheels are virtually unmarked, sporting correct 225/55/16 Goodyear Eagle radials. These are the collector cars of tomorrow and finding a Fox-body 5.0 that hasn't been thrashed is going to be tough. This one is ready to go with no stories so call today! 1992 Ford Mustang for Sale 1992 Ford Mustang for Sale Stock # 2546-ATL Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE 1. Perhaps this stunning silver-over-red 1967 fastback will cure what ails you. The incredible build not only gives the car serious performance credentials, but it's so drop-dead gorgeous that people will follow you for miles just to ask you about it. It's that kind of car. The transformation on this Mustang isn't as dramatic as you'd think, but that's the quality talking to you. The bodywork is expertly done and the icy silver paint works better on the vintage Mustang body shell than you'd expect. It looks light, crisp, and clean, and with a full de-badging, very sleek. It's got a few signs of use, because, after all, who could blame a guy for climbing in and hitting the road in this car? The '67's details work exceptionally well, with the crease along the sides standing out clearly in silver and the hood seems ideally designed for the white stripes that stretch to the windshield and out over the deck lid. Nice, right? Even better, check out how the chrome pops against the silver paint, with fresh bumpers, a billet grille insert, and beautifully detailed sequential taillights. This is a seriously nice Mustang. So you're already drooling over the slick bodywork, well, get ready to be blown away by the bright red interior. Ford put red interiors in Mustangs, of course, but they never looked like this. ProCar front seat are comfortable and supportive, but look like they belong there, too. New carpets, trick custom door panels that fit into the original slots in the door, and gorgeous gauges from Omega Kustom Instruments all put a unique twist on the original Mustang look. And no resto-mod would be complete without all the modern conveniences, so this one carries A/C that uses the factory vents, a custom center console with auxiliary gauges and power window switches, and a powerful AM/FM stereo system with speakers throughout the passenger compartment. The steering wheel is a beautiful wood-rimmed piece that is reminiscent of vintage Shelby wheels and there's a white cue ball on the custom billet shifter for the 5-speed manual transmission. The back seat is a custom-upholstered fold-down unit that leads from the cleanly restored trunk with an Optima battery. The engine is a built 5.0 liter fuel injected V8, and it's exactly the right choice for this Mustang. With a bunch of the usual horsepower goodies, including a Trick Flow intake, GT-40 heads, and an E-cam from Ford Motorsport, it's docile enough to drive every day but powerful enough to be a thrill on the weekends. The engine bay is dressed for show with lots of black, chrome, and polished aluminum, and the modern hardware ensures reliability. The 5-speed is actuated by a hydraulic clutch, so action is smooth and light, and with a towering overdrive gear, the 3.73 gears in the 8.8-inch rear end work extremely well. The front suspension is a full AJE K-member with coil-over struts and tubular A-arms, while the rear is a Heidt's 4-link with coil-overs and a panhard rod. The underside was treated to spray-on bedliner material as undercoating and a set of subframe connectors reinforce the tub in a way that you can feel. 4-wheel discs deliver impressive stopping power and live behind gorgeous 17-inch MD Classics wheels with 225/45/17 front and 235/45/17 rear performance radials. Yes, it's gorgeous. Yes, it's fast. Yes, it's comfortable. You could probably spend more money, but it's going to be hard to get more Mustang than this. Certified to compete in the NHRA 9.90 bracket classes, this gorgeous street/strip show car is equipped with a pump gas big-block 460 Cobra Jet crate motor with Cobra Jet aluminum heads, C-6 with trans brake, and a bulletproof Ford 9-inch rear. The '71-73 Mustangs are a handsome design and we've seen their values increasing in the past 2-3 years, particularly those in convertible form like this car. Smooth, sleek, and nicely finished, this pony car looks fast without doing a lot of advertising. The medium blue paint is a nice touch, keeping it subtle without so much as a set of stripes or a rear wing. The low-rise cowl hood is mandatory to clear the big engine, but I bet the builder only installed it out of necessity, not style. The result is a low-key car that could rightly be called a sleeper. It's nicely turned out, with crisp body lines and paint with just the right shine to look right on the super straight sheet metal without advertising too loudly that there's a lot of money tied up in the build. A chrome bumper replaces the standard-issue urethane piece and adds some welcome contrast and works with the matching chrome rear unit, too. Original emblems are in their proper places, along with a standard gas cap, and only the master cut-off switch and fuel pressure gauge give things away. The interior, despite the NHRA-legal 6-point cage, still looks pretty stock. High-back buckets wearing factory-style blue upholstery are fitted with 5-point harnesses, but they're easy to stash out of sight if you're not running hard. The doors open and close easily and have full door panels, the floors are carpeted, and, well, it doesn't really look much like a race car in there. A wood-rimmed steering wheel warms things up and the factory gauges are joined by a monster tach and auxiliary gauges in the center stack. The odometer shows 30,360 miles, and the consignor believes that to be the authentic reading, so you know this sucker's clean. There's a trick shifter for the C6 3-speed automatic underneath. The exterior is complemented by a nice-fitting convertible top and a nicely finished trunk with a battery box, but nothing truly radical. The built 460 cubic inch V8 cranks out 625 horsepower on pump gas, instantly solving the '73 Mustang's power deficiency. It's a neat fit thanks to the redesign being engineered to hold a 429, and the aluminum-headed engine isn't that much heavier than any of the factory offerings, so handling isn't ruined, either. It's definitely got a big cam in it, but it runs on pump gas and drives in traffic without major complaints and with power steering, it's still easy enough to maneuver. A big Holley carb feeds it and a set of long-tube headers provide a spectacular soundtrack out back. The C6 3-speed automatic transmission is built to take the abuse and there's a Strange 9-inch rear end with 4.11 gears on a Traction-Lok rear end and 33-spline axles, so don't worry too much about breakage. Even the rolling stock is reasonable, tucking under the fenders and using shiny aluminum wheels and 26x7.10-15 front and 29x12.50-15 rear Mickey Thompson tires. Street legal and happy on pump gas, this is a wolf in sheep's clothing. We guarantee nobody is going to scoff at this Mustang and it properly sends off the iconic "classic" 64-73 Mustangs. Indeed, this is the type of car Ford should have built in 1973! Buyer assumes all responsibility for verifying whether this vehicle will be street/emissions legal in their respective state/county. Certified to compete in the IHRA 7.50 and NHRA 8.50 bracket classes. Equipped with a custom supercharged all aluminum 4.6 liter engine, pro powerglide with Trans Brake and Pro 9 inch rear. Comes with a 700hp pump gas street tune that can be switched to a 1000hp race tune in minutes with a laptop. This car cost over $85,000 to build and everything was done first-class. Save yourself some money and buy someone else's dream at a fraction of the cost to build. When you see this car in person, it's bigger than life, with an in-your-face attitude that is matched only by its ability to go insanely fast. Every system on the car has been optimized for acceleration, but the familiar Mustang shape remains intact. With just 6300 actual miles, you know it's never seen any kind of bad weather or accidental damage, and the bodywork bears this out. The 1996 Mustangs were robust machines, so the doors still hang properly despite nearly 700 horsepower churning through the body (and that's ONLY in street tune!). The flames are a vinyl wrap and extraordinarily realistic and the Mystic paint still lives underneath and flips and flops the way it was designed to. There's a functional rear wing out back that helps keep the tires planted, as well as a parachute for the big end, and a Cobra R hood was modified to clear the humongous induction system. If you're going racing with 700 horsepower on tap, the guys in charge are going to want more than 3-point belts and an airbag steering wheel. As a result, the Cobra's interior received a race-grade makeover with custom thin-shell buckets, a full IHRA and NHRA-legal cage, and a fire system, all for improved safety. On the other hand, you still have full door panels (with power windows and locks!), original white-faced gauges, and a factory leather-wrapped steering wheel. There are a few extra dials to monitor the hardcore engine and the radio is long gone, but at 7000 RPM, you're not going to miss it one bit. The back seat is likewise MIA, replaced by fully upholstered tubs for a very clean look. A trick B&M shifter manages a 2-speed PowerGlide automatic transmission and there's a nitrous management system in the center stack. And with a couple key strokes on the laptop, you can tune this sucker to more than 1000 horsepower from the passenger's seat! In the trunk you'll find a fuel cell, battery, and nitrous bottle, all combat-ready. The engine is a 4.6 liter all-aluminum V8 that's been race-prepped and filled full of industrial-strength hardware that stands up to the rigors of both forced induction and nitrous oxide. The heads are ported and polished, there's a custom Hogan sheetmetal intake, and the whole thing is fed by a Paxton Phase II supercharger and custom fuel system. Race-grade hardware throughout suggest this one is no mere poser, and despite being street-legal, it's got the horsepower to back up its audacious look. A race-prepped 2-speed PowerGlide with a 4000 RPM stall converter feeds a Pro-Fab Ford 9-inch rear with 4.11 gears inside and a set of ladder bars with coil-overs. Up front, it's sort of stock with lightweight tubular A-arms with power rack-and-pinion steering, and there's a lightweight disc brake at all four corners. Weld Convo-Pro wheels carry the usual big-n-little combination, with those Mickey Thompson meats doing their best to hook it all up. If it's speed you crave, this one will make you unquestionably the king of the hill. Buyer assumes all responsibility for verifying whether this vehicle will be street/emissions legal in their respective state/county. Fortunately, the guys at Roush knew what they were doing when this 2005 Roush GT went together. #05-706 offers a unique, high-performance look backed by an upgraded powerplant, so there's no question that this pony not only talks the talk, but definitely walks the walk. The retro-look Mustang is a great-looking car, no doubt about that, but for some folks, it lacks the right attitude. Jack Roush and his guys correct that particular issue with a great-looking body kit that's also functional. It includes a deep front chin spoiler, block-off panels for the quarter windows, custom rear bumper, and a longer-flatter wing atop the deck lid. Of course a set of white stripes atop the Sonic Blue paint helps with the race-ready attitude and the paint shop up at Roush does a great job of making everything match and look like it came from the factory. This car has led a good life, so it remains in very good shape with only a few minor signs of use and age, and you know that someone spent a lot of Saturday afternoons polishing it up for shows. The fog lamps in the grille are a Shelby design cue that works especially well here and it proudly wears its Roush-assigned serial number on the front bumper, letting everyone know this isn't a garden-variety Mustang with a body kit, but a pedigreed car with legitimate history. Upgrading the interior doesn't make a car go faster, so the Roush guys pretty much left it as the factory built it. But that's good news, because the gray leather seats are comfortable, the A/C is effective, and the retro-inspired design works extremely well with the Roush attitude. Carbon fiber adorns the dash and center console and yes, that's Jack Roush's signature on the passenger's side airbag cover, giving this car some genuine pedigree. An A-pillar pod with aftermarket white-faced gauges puts additional information in your line-of-sight, while the factory gauges are treated to matching white faces for a different look. Everything you could get on a stock GT is here, including power windows and locks, cruise control, a tilt wheel, and a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo system with iPod capability. It's all in excellent shape, much like the bodywork, with minimal signs of use and a very complete look that says this car was loved. Even the trunk looks new. The biggest upgrade is under the hood, where Ford's 4.6-liter V8 is augmented with a number of performance-enhancing tricks, including Ford Racing camshafts, shorty headers, a custom ECM calibration, and an off-road H-pipe that makes a huge difference all by itself. The engine components include trick composite valve covers and a color-matched intake that rests comfortably under a chrome shock tower brace. The Mustang's standard 5-speed gearbox is a joy to row through the gears and there's enough gear out back to get it rolling in a hurry without being tiring on the highway. Eibach springs and shocks lower the ride height about two inches and it rolls on 2014 Mustang wheels with 18-inch performance rubber. Owned by an ASE certified mechanic, this fully documented Roush offers huge bang for the buck with V8 performance that's still relevant today. Lots of personality without a lot of frills, it perfectly sums up the Mustang's mission of affordable, youthful performance. The fact that it looks great is merely icing on the cake. The paint was done about ten years ago and the original code M Wimbledon White was exchanged for the more upscale-looking Vintage Burgundy, which was also on the color charts that year. As a result, this handsome little coupe looks a lot more expensive than it is, and despite some signs of age and use, it remains the kind of car that makes folks stop and stare as it drives by. There's a nice shine to the finish that will make for a lot of years of happy washing and waxing on a Saturday afternoon in preparation for a show the next morning. Critical areas like the trunk, rear pan, and doors all fit well and it does not appear that this little Mustang has ever been wrecked or required major surgery. Tidy gaps and a robust feeling make it wonderful to drive, and just enough chrome and stainless trim makes it sparkle, including the rocker panels and C-scoop insert. The original aqua interior was scrapped (thankfully!) and replaced with a handsome set of white seats and door panels with contrasting burgundy carpets. The result is pure 1960s cool that looks entirely appropriate. As I said, this is a no-frills Mustang, but the basics are awfully good, because you get a complete set of gauges that are in original condition, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and an overall look that makes the Mustang absolutely charming to sit in. A newer AM/FM radio was situated in the original radio's slot, and a modern consolette with cup holders was neatly stashed up under the dash where it's within reach but unobtrusive. The shifter manages a C4 3-speed automatic transmission. Of course, with the color change, virtually everything in the car is new, and despite being a few years old, it still looks great. The front buckets are firm and comfortable and the rear bench looks like it's never been used. The trunk features a correct reproduction mat and a full-sized spare tire, just in case. A C-code 289 cubic inch V8 means this smart little Mustang has plenty of get-up-and-go when you need it. Looking pretty stock, the Ford Blue engine has that wonderful small block exhaust note and plenty of smooth torque on tap for zipping through traffic. The proper air cleaner up top wears a reproduction decal, while chrome valve covers add a little bit of flash to the otherwise somber engine bay. Power steering is a welcome addition on any early Mustang, and combined with the automatic transmission, it's a great car for running around town. The 8-inch rear uses 2.80 gears inside, so it's also a superlative highway cruiser that actually gets decent mileage. A new dual exhaust system sounds a bit rumbly but not at all objectionable, and you can tell it's a clean car simply by noting that there's red oxide primer on the floors, as when it left the factory. Standard steel wheels with hubcaps wear 195/75/14 whitewall radials that are exactly right. Affordable fun from the A-list, you can finally own the early Mustang you've been dreaming of since you were 16. A great entry-level pony that won't disappoint.
