1925 Model T Roadster - Frame-Off Restoration Many More Images Click Here Background: This is one of the last of the classic Model T’s built before the major style change in 1926. It was manufactured in late June or early July 1925 just before the Ford plants closed to retool for the 1926 model introduction which became the Model A two years later. In typical Ford efficiency, the car has a number of 1926 parts, such as engine, convertible top and steering wheel which had been manufactured for the newer models. As best we have been able to tell, the car is totally original except for body panels and sections that were badly rusted or had been ruined in an earlier partial restoration. Everything has been restored and is in the official Ford color for the period- black. The car has been totally disassembled, cleaned, rebuilt and parts replaced as necessary. All rust was removed, and either powder coated or primed and painted. All of the wood has been replaced with either new ash or oak and reinforced in places where Ford originally took shortcuts in manufacturing. There is no Bondo. All fabric and upholstery are new. Everything works. Most of the original roadsters were converted to hot rods making this car one of the few surviving restorations with the popular turtle deck behind the cab. The car has many of the aftermarket features that were available from the dealer but not installed on the assembly line. Features: Engine, transmission, rear axle assembly completely dismantled, cleaned overhauled and rebuilt as needed.Frame, suspension, axles, steering, yokes were sand blasted and powder coated. All new bushings installed in steering and suspension.Body, turtle deck, fenders are re-done. Rusted and badly damaged sections were expertly patched or replaced.Internal and external engine oilers installed to insure better lubrication.Original wood spoke wheels have been repaired and refinished. All new brake and advanced wood transmission bands.Spare tire rack, which was a dealer option, has been added.Tapered front wheel bearings versus old ball bearing system.Five powder coated rims with new tires and inner tubes.New top, upholstery and glass expertly installed.Twelve volt alternator, distributor and new design carburetor added for starting and running reliability. The magneto was removed to significantly reduce the weight on the flywheel. All new wiring harness.Battery disconnect and trickle charger for storage.Dealer option Motometer temperature gage.Dealer option water pump installed.Outside rear view mirrors, another dealer option, have been added.Dust cover to protect top when it is stowed for open driving.Original carburetor, 6 volt horn, Model T special tools, and extra parts come with the car.
