1968 Ford Galaxie 500 XL Fastback in beautiful original condition. This Galaxie is as clean underneath as it is on top and it runs and drives without fault. The body is in excellent condition, the paint is very good with just a few minor imperfections as would be expected on a used car. Nothing that detracts from the overall excellent appearance. It is a dark metallic green similar to Clint Eastwoods 72 Ford Torino in the movie Gran Torino. There is no rust, all of the chrome and the glass is in very good shape. The vacuum operated headlamps operate like new. Overall a beautiful looking car. The black interior is in great shape, there are no rips or damage to seats. It has bucket seats and a center console. The dash pad has no cracks, the headliner is perfect. Everything works except for the original radio. Overall a very nice interior with an upmarket feel. The 302 V8 starts and runs just like it did when new. The automatic choke works. It idles smoothly. It has a very nice sound to it like Ford Windsor motors always do. Being a smaller V8 it gets surprisingly good fuel mileage, over 20 mpg is easily achievable and it has plenty of power & torque. The automatic transmission shifts very smoothly through all of the gears. The 9 inch rear end is nice and quiet with a well suited ratio. It has new brake lines, brake hoses, master cylinder, rotors, pads and linings. It has the rare factory option of power disc brakes. It stops much better than many cars of this era. The power steering is light and precise. This car is ready to be enjoyed and driven anywhere. Very well maintained. The new American racing wheels with new tires that are shown in the photos are available for an extra $1,000 otherwise it comes with the stock rims and the original Shelby style hub caps also with new tires. This car is in my name with a clear title. It is located just over the border in Canada where I live but I will take it across the border to Pembina, North Dakota for the new owner to make shipping or collection easier.
