1970 FORD GALAXIE XL CONVERTIBLE 1970 Ford Galaxies – Background: 1970 Ford Galaxies were built bigger and stronger than previous models – becoming more luxury-oriented as years passed as engineers worked hard to achieve a quiet ride and luxury car comfort. The 1970 lineup had 21 new models with several body style choices, including: 3 LTD Broughams, 5 LTDs, 2 XLs, and 6 Galaxie 500s. These models were offered in 2 & 4-door hardtop, 2 & 4-door sedan, sports-roof, and convertible body styles. 1970 Galaxies had six engine choices: the 240 6-cylinder was economy, the 302 V-8 was 220 horsepower, the 351 was 250 horsepower, and the big block 390 was 265 horsepower. Performance buyers could choose from 2 or 4-barrel carburetor 429 big block power plants rated at 320 and 360 horsepower. Only 6,348 convertibles were made in 1970. Details of this Sale: I purchased this car in 2010 as its 4th owner. I quickly discovered issues under its red paint and began a 3+ year restoration. While it’s not Concourse quality, it is in very nice restored condition. Everything I've restored is rust-free, rarely touches a wet road, and hasn’t been it any winter conditions. It and has a rebuilt, and much more powerful, engine. Most mechanicals and all rusted sheet metal were replaced with NOS or new parts. You are better off buying this car from me than trying to restore one like it yourself. $13,000 is nowhere near the total investment I have in this fun and fully-functional convertible. Serious buyers… please contact me. Vehicle Specifications: VIN#: OU61Y10993Miles: 61,000Original Base MSRP: $3,501 Length: 214 inches; Width: 80 inches; Height: 54 inches; Weight: approx 3,600 lbs. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: This is a 1959 Ford Galaxie Skyliner equipped with: Retractable Hardtop 352 CI V-8 Engine Cruise-O-Matic Transmission Power Steering Factory Colonial White with Torch Red Sof-Textured Vinyl Bolster and Raven Striped Nub Fabric with Silver Strand Interior Dual Exhaust Ford Motor Company produced only 12,915 retractables in 1959. 1959 marked the last year for Ford's production of the retractable hardtop and this particular retractable is a fine addition to any collection. The 352 V-8 engine starts and runs well. The Cruise-O-Matic transmission shifts smoothly and it runs down the road very straight. The previous owner restored the car approximately 10 years old and the paint, stainless and chrome continue to shine. The interior was also replaced at that time and looks super in original two-tone red and white. The most unique feature is by far the retractable top and it works perfectly. The undercarriage, including the frame, frame braces, floor pans and trunk floor, are also all in good condition with original factory undercoating. Please take the time to study the photos below to verify this vehicle's condition. I welcome any and all questions about this car, its restoration, and current condition. 1965 Galaxie rebuilt motor runs good always starts. Not a show car she needs some TLC ,you don't see many around and she draws a crowd at any cruise in. The top is in working order but torn up so a new top will be needed if you plan to use it. leaks some tranny fluid when it sits in storage for extended time ( I am told that is normal) This would be a great car to restore.

First of all, I LOVE this car!! The ONLY reason i am selling it is to provide my two teenage daughters, sixteen and almost seventeen, with cars of their own. I have always described this car as a 5 foot show car. I purchased the car in 2012 from the family of the original owner. I have the original build sheet, original bill of sale, and title. I have hundreds of receipts from over the car's history including in Jan 1996 when the engine was replaced with a new/reman 390 long block. According to the family, that is when the odometer was reset to zero (now shows 5k miles). The following is a brief history that was given to me and verified by documents I received. Originally purchased 8-21-1967 in Elkhart Indiana. Car was garage kept and a few years later the owner moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona (this is where engine was replaced). When the original owner passed away, it went to his brother in South Bend, Indiana, who parked the car in a garage/shed and never drove it until he passed away. I purchased the car from his daughter and son-in-law. The son-in-law did a restoration of the car with intent of showing it but had to sell due to job loss. This is one solid car with no rust (see pics) and a ton of new parts and updates too numerous to mention in full. Here are a few: Transmission rebuilt (Ammaco Nov. 2014 still under warranty), exhaust, tires, rims, , brake power booster, carburetor, brakes, convertible hydraulics, battery, shocks, oil pan, trunk seal, window felt, interior and many many more. The top is average condition. I never cared as I never drove it with the top up. The bad... The dash was redone by the previous owner and has a bubble/ small crack near the metal vent he installed on dash (see pics). My oldest daughter opened the driver's door into my chain link fence skinning the door edge (see pic). I am listing this car several places, so the first buyer to hit the price wins. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at [email protected]. I am relisting this car as the previous winner did not pay PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO HONOR YOUR BID!!

ACMAFFORDABLE CLASSICS MOTORCARS LLCQUALITY AND VALUE AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE***** PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO SEE HIGH RESOLUTION PICTURES ********** PLEASE CALL JOE AT 216-990-8207 WITH ANY QUESTIONS***** “ONE OF ONE” If you desire a drag car unlike any other in the market today, you will love this 1966 Ford Custom 2-door Sedan. This “purpose built” one-off drag car was originally procured by brothers Bobby and Cecil Edge, of Oneonta, Alabama, who took delivery of this car from Fred Peak Ford. They were able to obtain the car with its modifications through contacts they made at the Ford Motor Company after years of racing Ford products. With a production date of March 24, 1966, this car is the last full size factory built lightweight drag car. They raced the car until 1967. Powered by an “R” Code medium riser 427 CID V-8 with dual 715 Holley quads and a Toploader 4-speed manual transmission, this car has the following modifications that were completed at Ford’s Atlanta Assembly plant prior to delivery to the original owners: Teardrop fiberglass hoodThunderbolt Ram Air inductionDual point ignitionCast iron headersFull exhaust systemBattery relocation to trunk4:56 ratio Detroit Locker rear differential with nodular rear center section31 spline axlesClock, radio, heater and left side mirror deletes After passing through the hands of several owners and receiving multiple mechanical and cosmetic alterations through the years, the most recent owner purchased the car in 1988 with the desire to bring it back to the state in which Bobby and Cecil Edge raced it in 1966. Over the next 20 years, a frame-off restoration was performed, during which no part of the car was left untouched. In addition to a complete mechanical restoration, the car was partially rebodied. It was also repainted in its original Wimbledon White. Since being completed in 2008, the car has been driven less than 100 miles and has always been properly stored in a climate controlled facility. This car is listed in the 427 Galaxie Registry. Full ownership history can be found there at http://427galaxieregistry.com/RD66RCodeCustom.html. A photograph album documenting its restoration will be included with sale, as will correspondence between the most recent owner and Bobby and Cecil Edge. Up Up for sale is a 1963 Ford Galaxie XL 500 Ming Green Convertible that has had a complete frame off restoration. The original plan for this car was just to clean up the undercarriage, touch up the exterior paint, and clean up the engine compartment. However, the car had at least three coats of paint that was chipping off very easily, so the decision was made to give the car a frame off restoration. Once the body was stripped of all trim and interior components, it spent eighteen months on a rotisserie. The door braces were fabricated to keep the body as rigid as possible while on the rotisserie. The bottom was completely wire wheeled to remove any crud so that the underside could be blasted with a garnet blast media to prevent metal distress. The doors, inner fenders, deck lid, and hood were media blasted with plastic. All sheet metal repairs were completed, including the underside. The only new metal welded in, was along the passenger side inside rear quarter. Mounting brackets have been added for rear seat belts. The entire body was painted with zinc chromate primer. New seam sealer was added and the car was brushed for a factory look. Sandable primer was them applied and the body was prepped for color. The underside was paited with black schutz, which is a thick 3M paint with a small texture. The firewall could have been painted body color or black, depending on where it was assembled. Body color was chosen to make the engine compartment "pop". The door jambs, firewall, and truck compartment were all painted body color. The body was no ready to be assembled to frame for final color. This was done so there would be no stress applied to the paint as was reassemble to the body. The frame was moved to my home shop, where I stripped it of all components. It was then taken to a commercial sand blast company. The frame was found to be in excellent condition with only surface rust and no repairs were required. After it was blasted, it was primed and painted black with a hardener added. I brought the frame back to my shop to commence assembly. The rear end and drive shaft were sent out to have the seals replaced and given a thorough cleaning and inspection. The engine was rebuilt using custom pistons manufactured by Wiseco Piston Company. After installing the rear end to the frame, the rear brakes and drums were installed. The new stainless steel brake and fuel lines were then installed. Next, the power steering mechanism and new steering hoses were installed. The steering pump, valves, and cylinder were all rebuilt. The restored front suspension and brakes were installed next. Then, the engine was painted and mated to the transmission and installed onto the chassis. The last thing to do on the frame was to add the exhaust system. Reproduction mufflers with one of the chambers removed were used for a thoatier sound. All of the exhaust hangers have been rebuilt. The resonators were not put in, but the pipes are there so they can be added later. All of the original clamps and fasteners were used on the frame and body of the car. Everything was cleaned and glass beaded before receiving a fresh silver cad plating. This completed the rolling chassis. Next, it was time to assemble the body to the rolling chassis on a two post lift. New rubber body mounts and refurbished hardware finished the job. The temporary door bracing was then removed. The doors were installed, along with the trunk lid. The restored radiator support and inner fender wells were installed to support and align the fenders. The fenders were then fit and aligned for the body lines and prepped for final sanding. Once the final sanding was complete, the fenders were removed. The fenders and hood were painted separately because the assembled car is too long for the paint booth. The car was then masked and painted. Three coats of body color and tree coats of clear coat were applied. Once the car was painted, it was moved back to my home shop and the paint was left to cure for a few months. The hood and fenders were installed after the engine compartment was complete. The power brake booster was also rebuilt. A custom maintenance free battery that resembles a 1963 battery was purchased and installed. A new old stock fan decal was also obtained. Next, dynamat was installed in the cockpit and inside the doors. Once that was done, we started assembling the guts of the doors. Once again, all of the fasteners have been restored to original. The wing vent mechanisms were rebuilt. The exterior trim was restored for the previous owner. I chose not to use any snap on connectors and instead used post and nuts. All new wiring was used on the car with the exception of the dash harness that was professionally looked at. The wiring and lights were installed, connected and tested. The rear bumper was then installed. The front bumper was installed after the front fenders and hood had been installed and aligned. The hood pull is a new old stock part. The front trim was then completed. For the interior, the dash pad was professionally redone and painted to match the interior trim. The dash frame had been glass beaded and painted interior color. The clock was also rebuilt. The entire dash was assembled on the bench in my garage. A new fuel gage and all new lenses were installed. An AM/FM radio ($129 option in 1963) was also installed. All of the chrome on the interior and exterior was redone along with the stainless steel. New carpet and door sills were installed. A new heater box, vent assemblies, and firewall insulation were all installed. The completed dash was then installed and tested. New gas and brake pedals were installed, along with the parking brake assembly. The steering column was then installed and connected. Next, the console was installed with a new plastic shift indicator plate. A new pair of convertible top hydraulic cylinders, new hydraulic pump, and new hoses were installed. The completely refurbished convertible top frame was re-assembled on the car and tested for operation. All the bushings for the wiper motor assembly were replaced and the assembly was installed and tested. All new glass, that has been etched with the proper Ford logo and date, was installed. Next, the door panels, kick panels, and rear seat panels were installed. The seats were installed after I had new foam installed. The covers had been installed by the previous owner, but new foam was not used. The seat frames were completely restored. The trunk received new cardboard panels, decals, and a correct burtex mat. The jack was restored, including the proper plating, along with the trunk latch mechanism. A new bias ply tire with the sticker is in the trunk. The new black convertible top was installed by a professional. The proper bias ply black wall tires were installed along with NOS simulated wire wheel hubcaps. This car was gone over by Don Allen, a Galaxie expert from Georgia to confirm that everything was done correctly. The car won it's AACA First Junior in 2012 in Reading, Pennsylvania on the first try. The car then won the AACA Senior in 2013 in Auburn, Indiana on the first try. In 2014, the car won Best in Class at the Ford Nationals in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. I believe I'm the second owner of this car. I have had it for about six years and love it. I do not have a garage though and do not want it to sit out for the winter. It rides down the road perfect. I occasionally take it on the turnpike and it runs smooth at 70 mph. It's like driving a couch! She has some minor exterior issues as stated above. Check out the pictures! I have the original rims and dog dish hubcaps for it also. I'll answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability. The only thing I know of that is NOT original is the master cylinder. I installed a dual master cylinder to replace the single cylinder.
