(*******REDUCED SELLING PRICE - FIRM******) I have for sale a 1966 Fairlane 500XL Convertible with a 289 V/8 and a 2 barrel carburetor backed by a C-4 Automatic Dual-Range Automatic transmission. Both have been reconditioned to factory specifications. This is a factory matching number car and is in perfect shape. I redone the car about 61/2 years ago and cut no corners. I only go to local car shows and cruises and have won several trophies with this car. This year this car took 2nd place in the all fords show in St. Louis Missouri, only to be beat by a freshly rebuilt Fairlane brought in on trailer. The Fairlane has been garaged its whole life and has no body problems at all and has all original sheet metal in floor pan and upper body it came with from the factory as well as all original body glass and exterior chrome. I soda blasted the original paint (Candy Apple Red) from the body completely including engine compartment (Flat Black) after removing exterior chrome, and had it repainted it back factory Candy Apple Red.(Album pictures available) It has not been polished in 6 years and still holds a mirror finish. Spray-on Auto detailer is all I have used on the paint. I had the convertible top replaced with original type top with glass rear window. All rubber body gaskets have all been replaced as was the convertible top which has the factory type glass rear window (Glass not plastic), the original top is also available if the buyer wants it. I could go on and on about this Fairlane but the reason for selling it is that I have come across a 1 owner 1966 Thunderbird Convertible that has been is storage 12 years and I am now in the process of refreshing this car. So after soul searching for several months I decided to sell the Fairlane. Only one classic car can be driven at a time and I chose the Thunderbird Convertible. If you have any questions you can call me at 636-208-5941 (AL) ** Note- A $500.00 non-refundable deposit payable through PayPal will be required by anyone wanting to purchase the 1966 Fairlane 500XL Convertible thru Ebay Auction web and balance of sale will be by bank transfer or cash. Thank you for looking

This is the true classic Ford enthusiast’s car, the previous owner even kept the original registration cards from the sixties! Finished in a dramatic, rich and code correct Rangoon Red over an exceptional black interior, this very special Fairlane shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Both the front and rear bumpers fit nicely and compliment the body. The Fairlane name was moved to Ford’s new intermediate, introduced for the 1962 model year, to bridge the gap between the compact Ford Falcon and the full-sized Galaxie. Like the Falcon, the Fairlane had a unibody frame, but the body incorporated an unusual feature Ford dubbed ‘torque boxes’, four boxed structures in the lower body structure designed to absorb road shock by moving slightly in the vertical plane. Suspension was a conventional short-long arm independent arrangement in front with Hotchkiss drive in the rear. Inside, the vinyl black front split bench seat and rear bench seat all look great with no major signs of wear visible. The door panels and dashboard are matched to the exterior of the car and look fantastic. Paint and body are exceptional with no visible evidence of repair or damage that we could find. This nicely presented one owner (with original registration cards from the sixties!) Ford Fairlane 500 features a 289 cid, 195hp (C-code)V8 engine with 2 barrel carburetor coupled to a 4- speed manual transmission making this one of the most unique finds one will find now or in the foreseeable future! One of the greatest aspects of the early muscle care era was the capability of these cars to be excellent daily drivers with smooth mild-mannered everyday driving, then with a few modifications, ready for the track at the drop of a hat…or flag! This has to one of the finest low mileage original Fairlanes available on the market today, do not miss out! These C-code Fairlanes are becoming increasingly hard to find in such solid well kept condition, especially fitted with the 4-speed manual transmission from the factory. As Ford themselves said, “The 64 Fairlane has family-size room and sports-car feel” GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! Current mileage on the odometer is original and showing 16,452, it is sold as is on an actual mileage Pennsylvania title. VIN: 4K43C155288 Please contact us for more information. We buy cars! It was built using all high quality race parts that were installed by the best guys in the area. The motor is an E85 beast with over 700 HP, and paired up with the 6-Speed Tranzilla transmission, makes the Fairlane a drivable street machine that's ready for the track as well.  The body of the car was stripped down to bare metal and is completely rust free from front to rear. The car has killer body work and paint and is straight as an arrow down the sides. The paint has been color sanded and buffed to show car quality. The panel gap and body fitment is superb. All of the trim on the vehicle is re-plated or polished NOS stuff and fits beautifully. The hood is a Crites fiberglass reproduction and also has excellent fit, especially for a glass piece. The interior of the car is like new and has been Dynamatted from front to rear. The car sports the factory gauge cluster with a big Autometer tach and knee knocker gauges under the dash to keep track of those vitals. A 6 point cage was installed that has been tied into the subframe connectors for extra strength and safety, and off it run dual 5 point harnesses.  The suspension of the car features a Flaming River rack and pinion, billet tie rods, tie rod sleeves and 4 Strange double adjustable coil overs. The car has been scaled and corner balanced by Griffin Custom Racecraft. In the rear sits an Alston 4-link suspension. The wheels are ET Classic V wheels that measure 15x5 in front and 15x12 out back. The rear tires are M/T ET Street tires that measure 14x31x14.5.  The motor is a balanced and blueprinted, E85,  427 FE Side Oiler built by AMT Performance in St. Louis. The motor was built using a Genesis cast iron block that was sonic checked, hot tanked, and magged. It was then bored and honed with torque plates, square decke, line bored and line honed. The motor uses Edelbrock heads that were ported and machined for T&D race rockers. A Scat forged stroker crank coupled with the bore takes the motor to 498 CI.  The engine has forged Ross racing pistons which are gas ported and have coated skirts. The cam is a Comp Cams solid roller unit and the billet main caps are made by Pro-Gram. The intake is a Victor which has been ported and port matched to the heads. The front accessories run on a Concept One system. The car was dynoed last year and made 700 HP @6,800 rpm and 616 ft lbs of torque @5,100 rpm. The static compression ratio is 13.96 to 1.  The fuel system uses a racing fuel cell, Aeromotive A1000 electric pump and Quickfuel Holley Dominator 1050 on E85.  The transmission is a Tremec T-56 Magnum Tranzilla 6-speed built by Rockland Standard gear. It uses a Mcleod dual-disc clutch and steel flywheel, hydraulic TO bearing, and Quicktime scattershield. The rear end is a Ford 9" with a S/W brace, 35 spline Strange axles, spool, 4.56 gears, Mark Williams steel driveshaft, 1350 u joints, and driveshaft loop. The motor exhales through a custom built set of headers with 2 1/4" primaries, merge collectors and a monster 3 1/2" exhaust. It's a pro built by Griffin Custom Racecraft tig welded throughout.  The electrical system is new from front to rear and uses a PowerMaster alternator, RobbMc starter and dual Optima batteries in the trunk.  For the Ford enthusiast looking for an over the top, high-end car built using the best parts and highest craftsmanship available, this Fairlane is a bargain compared to the cost to built the car.  VIN: 6K43C259118 Year: 1966 Make: Ford Model: Fairlane Engine: 498.00 CI V8 Transmission: 5-Speed Manual Color: Red over Black Odometer Reading: 299 Financing and warranty options are available.  Please call us directly to acquire shipping bids, to answer any questions about this automobile, or to secure this special car for yourself.
