Because it was sitting in my barn / shop for over 12 years!!!1997 F350 XLT 4x4 Crew Cab (4 door) 7.3 Liter V-8 Diesel Powerstroke, Automatic with overdrive, Dana 60 front axle, Weld Racing Wheels and Toyo Open Country Radials (tires and wheels cost $4500) only 66,000 original miles Located in Seattle Washington 98188 1 mile from Seatac AirportI bought this in March 2003 with 59k miles and drove it for about a month and decided I wanted to install a lift kit so in April 2003 I put it on my Mohawk lift in my shop and unbolted the front leaf springs getting ready to install a 6" lift. I then got a gig that paid insane money so I went to work and let the truck sit. Long story short I just sold my shop this week (December 2015) so I had to move the F350. I decided I didn't want the 6" lift so I installed new HD F350 front springs and a reverse shackle kit that lifts the front about 3". New front calipers, brake lines , springs, shocks etc. truck now sits perfectly levelI did keep the batteries on a trickle (replaced them 3 years ago) and I started in a few times each year and kept up on the fuel, oil and anti freeze situation100% stock except the rear bumper and wheels and tiresThis is very likely the nicest ORIGINAL 1997 Ford F350 4x4 Powerstroke left in the worldI have chrome differential covers, new rotors and pads etc that also go with it I can deliver this anywhere on the west coast Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada or Arizona for actual fuel costs, a ride to the airport and the cost of my plane ticket home. 1991 Ford F-350 Diesel 4WD Crew Cab Pickup w/ a 7.3 turbo diesel. Motor is a donor from from a low mileage / 160k 1994 Ford 7.3L Diesel IDI w/ Factory single turbo charger (iron head and iron block) mated to an autotomatic transmission with electronic Over Drive (Posi- rear end). In the last three months the transmission was fully rebuilt (3 year warranty w/ receipt for $3800) with heavy duty over haul kit , torque converter, transmission cooler, rear planet, OD piston ring, center support kit, etc. All new Motocraft glow plugs, Motocraft glow plug relay, chassis was all lubed, all fluids changed from front to back, turbo was dissembled, cleaned and oiled. Several switches (temp, oil, etc.) were also replaced($800+ with receipt). In the last year and a half it had the Standyne injection pump rebuilt($600), two new NAPA1000 cranking amp batteries added w/ starter and re-manufactured alternator ($600 +) and new LT285 75R16 Toyo M/ T 10 ply tires on black steel rims($1600) and a used transfer case and a bomb proof posi-rear end were installed. Paint is new and a respray over original beige. Truck also has a burly steel flatbed with hidden 5th wheel hitch compartment. Front bumper is custom and very strong. Truck runs and drives awesome!! No blow by, no smoke, and the injection pump is set to factory specs. Exhaust is a 4inch straight pipe from the manifolds. Sound is amazing and the cab interior is quiet. Body and chassis are clean and straight with only a small amount of rust on lower portion of passenger rear door. This truck spent the majority of its life in E. Washington. A lot of hard work and money (estimate about $15k) have gone into bringing this iconic truck back to life. It currently needs tie rods, leaf spring bushings (which are included), a few interior pieces replaced, and the fuel filler necks raised to height of the flatbed for ease of refueling. Its has been in zero accidents in its entire life of 24 years!!! The issue relates to the odometer. It happened in 1998 when a new owner registered the truck. This truck only has a five digit odometer (i.e. turns over every 99,999 miles.). It either was reported that the odometer was broken or a DOL employee did not believe the mileage to be true or accurate because it had turned over. Vehicles of this vintage are now odometer disclosure exempt.
