Purchased from Longmont Ford and all maintenance has been completed there as well. This truck is great in the snow and the bed cap is perfect for camping! I've added a K&N cold air intake, a Magnaflow stainless steel catback exhaust, and a SoftTopper bed cap to this truck. All in all driving to Westminster for work everyday I get 18MPG and going to ski or on the highway I get 20MPG. I'm asking $36,150 OBO and I will accept reasonable offers. Ok well it is finally time to sell my home on wheels. I am selling this truck to fund my round the world adventure starting this January. This truck has served me very well as I have lived in it over the past year or so. It has brought me all through Central America and the US. This truck has been incredibly reliable and I have maintained it well. Here are the detailsBase 2007 f150 xlt 5.4 v8 4x4 extended (super) cab. 130k miles (I still am driving it so possibly more)Upgrades include:The truck:Add a leaf in the rearleveling/spacer kit in front35 inch cooper discover atp tires with full size new spare (tires are about half tread or more)4.56 gearsarb air locker in reardetroit true trac in frontCustom front winch bumper with smittybilt 10k and synthetic line. Front bumper also has two hid lights and one led light that are wired to a relay to turn on whenever you flip the brights switchRear custom winch bumper with harbor freight 9k winch with steel line. (both winches have upgraded waterproof solenoids and are wired to be operated from in the cab)The rear bumper also has lockable storage that fits all recovery equipmentThere are running boards that are bedllined and welded to the frame. They are much stronger than stock but not quite strong enough to be called rock sliders.Dual battery kit underhood with one optima red top and one sears diehard battery. It is wired so batteries are connected only when vehicle is running, all accessories run off the sears battery when vehicle is off, leaving the optima for starting.I have programmed it with superchip for the new gears and tires as well as for some gas mileage. It now averages (highway and street) about 13.5 mpg.Topper:The topper is an ARE aluminum commercial topper. It has lights on every door plus the interior, I added additional led lights for added brightness in convenient locations. It has two storage cabinets on the drivers side one is used for storage and the other as utility closet, housing the water system, the arb air compressor, solar controller, and fuse panel for accessories. It also stores my dishwashing kit, hose for water fill, air hose for tire fill, various batteries, and has room for more (all mentioned items are included).On top of the topper is a custom made alumium roof rack which holds the 100 watt solar panel, has a cutout for the fantastic fan vent, holds the high lift jack, and houses the traction mats (again all included). Also there is a 32 inch led light bar that is wired to the accessory battery and to a switch in the cab.The bed:In the bed there is housing for a 36 qt fridge and coleman multifuel two burner stove (both included). Also a modifiable frame with a cabellas mattress making a very comfortable 48x78 bed. It sleeps two nicely. There is also a mount for a silky saw, axe, shovel, and tomahawk, (included). The bed easily converts into storage mode by moving one piece of plywood and rolling up the mattress. Underneath the bed there are two custom made aluminum tanks (with baffles) that hold approx 40-45 gallons each. One is for fuel the other for water. There is room above the tanks for storing small items such as spare parts, tools, or whatever. Under the bed there is ample storage for a plethora of gear.Water system:One of the tanks in the bed holds water. It is filled by a fill neck with cap in the utility cabinet. There is a 1.8 gpm 40psi electric on demand pump that makes the water flow. There is a switch right next to the pump to turn it on. There is a valve manifold that allows you to switch where the water comes out. It either comes through the filters and then a faucet for drinking water or into the thermostatically controlled (just set the the temperature) mix valve and through the shower head. There is a 10 plate copper heat exchanger under the hood that heats the water for the shower or to do dishes. The truck must be running for it to work. The water filters are practically new, I put more than 1000 gallons through my last set before replacing them, they work great, the water tastes good and I have never gotten sick. It is a three stage filter with two carbon filters (for sediment and taste) and one microbioligical filter (for bacteria. viruses, and pharmaceuticals). The pump does shut on and off when pumping through the filters as the pressure reaches 40 psi, this does not bother me, however it would be easy to upgrade the pump. The filters are cheap, available, and easy to replace (simply twist a quarter turn and pull down).Fuel system:This truck can go more than 1000 miles on a single fill up. One of the tanks in the bed stores fuel. It is filled by a fuel neck next to the water neck in the utility cabinet. when the tank is full you just flip a switch in the cab and a valve opens allowing fuel to drain from the large take to the main tank. The gauge will then go back up to full, however I have noticed that sometimes the gauge moves very slowly going up so it is best to turn the valve on for 5-10 minutes and then turn it off and wait for the gauge to settle.InteriorThe windows are tinted as well as a sun shade on the front window. There are weather guard floor mats in the front. There is an aftermarket reciever in the dash (nothing fancy) to make room for the switch panel that controls the accesories. There is a battery gauge to monitor the voltage. I have substantially upgraded the sound system with new speakers all around and an amp to power them (under the passenger seat) also under the back seat there is a 1500 watt power inverter. I removed the center console and but a custom subwoofer box that houses a kicker solo baric 8" sub and an amp to power it, there is also a bass knob to control the level. This sound system sounds Great!... without being over the top. There are two cupholders as well. On top of the sub bolted to the box is a drawer size combination gun safe to keep valuables. Around that is a flip up storage box to hide the safe and have more storage, also I upholstered in pockets on the side which are very convenient. I have also disabled all seat belt alarms.The miles: I bought this truck with something like 90k miles on it about a year and a half ago. The first thing I did was replace the ball joints (figured it would be a good idea before going south) and the spark plugs (they are designed to last 100k) I then took to modiyfying it for my trip. Supposedly The previous owner bought it new and used it as a daily driver and towed a camper with it (it has a brake controller for that) The truck was in excellent shape and it seemed like it had easy miles. Then and now there is not a spot of rust on this truck. I drove the truck quite a bit as a dd and road tripping around the US before going to CA. Once in CA I stayed on the rough roads mostly and drove a lot on the beach. This time counts for about 20k miles. I crashed the truck in honduras. My bumper saved most everthing except the radiator grill and hood. A local body guy fixed everything about as good as new though no new parts were put on except the radiator and a headlight. Also there was minor surface rust on the frame from all the time at the beach, I went ahead and had him sand and paint the underbody, it looks as good as new now. I have never had any sort of failure in this truck other than electrical issues that I created (I have since worked through and repaired these issues). Since I got back form CA I have been doing a lap around the US putting quite a bit of miles on the truck. I did stop at overland expo east where the truck was featured as "the perfect full size truck" I presented it to a sizable audience and people seemed very excited about it. Security:I have modified the front door lock as well as all the locks on the topper and the rear bumper to tubular style locks which are much harder to break or pick than a traditional lock, they all use the same key and the truck comes with three keys and a hide a key magnet. On the doors there is also a keypad to punch in a code to unlock the doors. This is great so you can lock your keys in the truck when you are at the beach or whatever. Also there is an alarm that is controlled by a key fob. The alarm also has an antitheft device that can be armed by a secret button. If someone tries to start the car with the key and does not press the secret button (while armed) then the truck will run for about thirty seconds then the alarm will go off and the truck will not start again without a specific procedure (the alarm manual is in the safe and explains all this thorougly in english french and spanish). Also I put a locking gas cap on it.What's included:Well everything I mentioned above plus all the recovery gear, a synthetic winch extension line, lug wrench, baddass jumper cables, a tree strap, winch block, and two tow straps. Also a spare solenoid valve for the fuel system. A gps that inludes all US maps (it has a card in it that had all central and south america maps however it says now that maps are corrupted and you need to log on to repair them... probably gotta download them again). An extra 400 watt inverter is included, I was going to mount this in the back but for now I like to have it mobile, it cam be plugged in back or in front. There is probablby more.. I will update. Also surely when I clean the truck out I will leave extra goodies int there.The bad: Well like I said I crashed it, but it has been repaired so really there is not much of an issue there. I just replaced a seal in the transmssion that was leaking, it is fine now. The interior is not horrible but has definitely been lived in. The only tear is in the driver seat (apparently the last owner was a portly fellow). There are stains but it doesn't smell bad. There is a crack in the windshield, I had it sealed over a year ago, it hasn't budged since then. I originally had the second battery in the back of the truck under the bed on the drivers side, I didn't like the position so I moved it under the hood. I had to make a wiring junction there since I already ran the wires. the wiring in this area is not pretty and could probably stand to be cleaned up a bit but it functions and every single wire on the truck is properly fused including the giant zero gauge cable that goes to the rear winch. Also the switch that is in the cab to operate the rear window of the truck does not work, however I have installed another switch in the back of the truck near the bed that works fine. There may be more and if I think of anything I will update, the truck definitly drives perfect, has now weird noises, and no leaks, all accessories function. However I will say this, because of all the accessories, if you cannot diagnose minor electrical issues this truck (or overlanding by vehicle really) may not be for you.This truck has been well maintained, the gears and lockers have less than 10k on them. Everything else has been tried, tested, and modified as I have lived in the truck over the past year. Everything works and is ready to go. This truck is a stealthy camper as well as an incredibly capable offroad vehicle, never get stuck at the beach again! I put a lot of effort into designing and building this truck as well as a lot of money. I know that whoever gets this truck witl be thrilled with their new turn key adventure rig. When sold the truck will be fully detailed, also I plan on labeling the fuses in the back.
