I bought the Escort GT in 2005 w/ just under 80,000 original miles, it now has 147,920 miles. So, in 10 years we've driven about 65,000 miles, I have not abused this car. The little GT has served me well, but I no longer need it & have not driven it much at all in last 4 months. Maybe someone out there has a place it to park it & call home ??This is a 1988 1/2 year car, clearly stated on title & original owners manuals (included.) It has the 1.9 HO EFI engine w/ factory header & 5 speed manual trans. If I remember correctly there were only around 15% or less made w/ that engine. Car has a clear title & is PA inspected till 12/15.The car is not perfect, having cosmetic paint chips & scratches & minor surface rust showing (trunk lid & lower passenger door) nothing serious but there. Front bumper has a few cracks in it due to being backed into when parked (I drilled & zip tied to prevent getting worse.) One wheel is missing the center cap. The interior is actually in very good condition for it's age. Dash is cracked of course & center console is torn. Driver side door arm rest plastic was broken when I bought in 05, Do have arm rest though. Seats are nice & same as mustang GT, carpet has some staining. Gauges all work, orig. radio, heater controls work too. Car does have A/C but I removed belt when purchased, everything there would need Belt & charged. Power mirrors work, has manual operated windows. Rear seats fold down for extra space. Rear hatch stays up on it's own (shocks not shot.) Orig. spare tire & jack assembly in tire well. Here's a list of some of the parts I've replaced over the years. Some were needed most were done as preventive maintenance. Of course I did not list oil changes,brake service/replacement items or general maintenance stuff. The large stack of receipts are included w/ sale. 3/06 New Ign.coil, fuel press. reg., upper lower intake gaskets3/07 New clutch,press.plate & flywheel (orig. one was just starting to slip occasionally)10/08 New accessory belts (water pump, power steering etc.)6/09 New converter & exhaust5/10 ball joints, lower control arm & around same time both front struts & rear shocks7/10 4 wheel alignment done after front end work6/11 timing belt kit w/ tensioner pulley & while I was at it a new water pump3/12 upper lower rad. hoses, thermostat, anti-freeze & valve cover gasket4/13 New distributor, cap,rotor, NGK plugs, Bosch wires & fuel filter6/14 Alternator, Neg. Batt. cable & New battery8/14 (4) New tires, valve stems & balanced. Perf. GT radial 195/65-15 @ 144,205 miles. Car now has 147,920 miles, so tires have about 3700 miles on them. The Escort is for the most part is in original condition other than previous mentioned replaced items. I have taken care of it the best I could to keep it in good mechanical condition. Car does NOT smoke, knock or overheat !! I have changed oil every 3000-3500 miles. It runs, shifts & drives like you'd expect a FWD late 80's car to. Suspension is stiff & bumpy, does have some degree of torque steer. You will hear road noise & a few interior rattles !! Drive train may drip a drop of oil/fluid from time to time. Car is 27 years old & SOLD AS IS, NO WARRANTY,NOT PERFECT !! Title is in my hand ready for transfer. Feel free to ask questions, I have plenty of other pics if needed. thank you for looking !!
