Gold 1998 Ford Contour for sale by owner! Used (obviously!) with one previous owner we are aware of (cousin in-law).Drive-able, however jerks a lot. The shop says it may have something to do with the engine mounts. Selling because we cannot afford the fix. Had a few leaks but all repaired only a few months ago. Selling a 1999 Ford Contour with 140k miles. Services up to date. Also, I've replaced the spark plugs, wires, water pump, drive belt, pullys, the serpentine belt tensioner, fuel pump, upper coolant hoses, fuel injectors and rings, thermostat temperature gauge, thermostat, pcv value, mass air flow sensor, CV joint boots and axles, shocks, struts, ball joints, wheel bearings, and new Michelin rain defender tires, purchased about one year ago. I planned keeping the car for another 5 years but plans changed. It is reliable though and could be used as a commuter car. The car is listed under Blue Book value to sell quickly. It pains me to sell it for so cheap but I know I won't get the money back that I've put into it. Passed emissions 1/12/2016 Faults:- The dashboard has curled around the defrost vent.- The automatic transmission selector lever does not line up with gears. Does not effect the function of the vehicle. NOTICE: This vehicle is registered and titled in Colorado with specialty plates. The plates do not come with the vehicle so a 21 day tag must be obtained from the Oregon DMV after sale. The transaction could occur at the DMV if you choose. Car was taken in on a trade, it ran great for two or so weeks before it suddenly started having problems with the throttle position sensor, it was replaced but the car showed no change and continued having issues.  We found that most of the jackets on the engine wiring harness had crumbled off, so gaskets were purchased and we pulled the valve cover to try and mend the wires.  Most everything in the engine bay has been taped up and secured, the head gaskets and spark plugs are new but the car does not run any longer.  Im not sure how it happened, but we tripped the PATS system in the car while working in the bay and it will no longer start, although it does crank when you turn the key.  A new key was cut but has not yet been programmed for the car.  The owner has since purchased a new car and is just trying to get this one out of the driveway.  The car needs a new rear bumper, is missing the passenger side, side skirt, and needs the drivers window replaced.  The drivers door card and replacement glass will go with the car.  I have a clean and clear Arkansas title in hand, I will not ship, this is local pickup only unless shipping is arranged by the buyer.

You are looking at a 2000 Ford Counter SE CNG that has 141, 922 miles. The silver exterior on this vehicle is in good shape and shows well. There is some minor paint peel on back bumper next to the CNG emblem and some small paint scrapes on the side panel and a small paint scrape on front bumper passenger side. But this Ford Contour drives well and it is a CNG. It runs off of compressed natural gas or fuel. The gray interior of this car is in good shape. There are a couple of small spots on the floor but nothing major. The AC blows cool once it kicks in but I think it needs to be recharged and the power windows and locks do work. The radio/cassette player does work too. The 2.0L I4 motor starts right up. This Ford Contour will make a great economical opportunity to buy a decent vehicle at a fair price. 2000 Ford Contour SEIncludes 1 key, original owner's manual, a Hayne's Repair Manual, and an extra full-size tire mounted on a steel wheel for use as a spare.Needs PA inspection (expired June 2015) and should be passable still. I had the car undercoated every year for the last 8 years with Fluid Film for the winter months as a preventative measure. Fluid Film stops rust from forming on the underside of the car and creates a seal on the metal. There is some rust forming on the body. The car has a nice and smooth ride.The oil, oil filter, radiator fluid, transmission fluid, engine filter, and fuel filter have all been changed on a regular basis since I bought the car. I used part synthetic oil at first and moved up to full synthetic to keep the seals in good condition. The interior is in good condition. The carpet has some stains but overall good condition with no spots worn away. The seats are also in good shape with no stains or burn holes (driven by a non-smoker). The trunk latch works fine and there is an emergency open latch inside the trunk.Ford issued a factory recall for the dashboard warping up from around the heat vent under the windshield. It was fixed by a local body shop by bolting the dashboard to the frame all the way around approximately every two inches. Airflow against the windshield is normal. The recall was discovered after this fix, but the recall period had expired. All power locks, mirrors and windows work (although the front passenger window can only be operated from the driver's main window control). The A/C, heat, and cruise control work great.The engine runs well with no leaks, loose belts or rough idle.The transmission has a slow leak that will cause slippage if the fluid level is not maintained, but not much of a problem if it is kept full. This is most noticeable at speeds above 50-55 mph. This makes it very good for city and town driving.Car has ABS brakes. The tires are used, but are still good. The body has some rust around the wheel wells and edges of doors. There is rust in the rocker panels that has corroded through the front panel on each side, but not the rear. The paint's clear coat is peeling in some areas and there is some small paint peeling in the rear bumper (plastic underneath, not metal).Stereo was upgraded from the factory unit, but that is not included with the sale. No longer have the factory unit.
