This is a solid 1974 Ford Bronco. It is a Texas truck and the lack of heavy rust confirms it. This Bronco was found on a south Texas ranch. It was running up until 7 years ago when the gas tank developed a leak and it was put into a barn for storage. It is not running now. It shows very little rust. The body is pretty solid. It has a 302 V-8 and a automatic transmission. It looks like the truck was used as a hunting truck. It has 87,000 miles on the odometer but I'm not sure if it accurate. It has a huge front bumper with winch attached but I'm not sure if it works. It has a new fuel tank and sending unit but they have not been installed. The truck looks pretty complete parts wise. I can help you get the truck shipped or you can pick it up. You are welcome to inspect in person. The Bronco is for sale locally as well. 1970 Ford Bronco (4x4): The original Bronco was an ORV (Off-Road Vehicle), intended to compete primarily with Jeep CJ models and the International Harvester Scout. The Bronco's small size riding on a 92-inch (2,337 mm)  wheelbase made it popular for off-roading. The Bronco was Ford's first compact SUV, and Ford's compact and midsize SUV niche would be taken by the compact pickup based Ford Bronco II (1984--1990), Ford Explorer (1991--present) and the  Ford Escape (2001--present). The idea behind the Bronco began with Ford product manager Donald N. Frey, who also conceived of the Ford Mustang; and similarly, Lee Iacocca pushed the idea through into production. In many ways, the  Bronco was a more original concept than the Mustang; whereas the Mustang was based upon the Ford Falcon, the Bronco had a frame, suspension, and body that were not shared with any other vehicle. The Bronco was designed under engineer  Paul G. Axelrad. Although the axles and brakes were sourced from the Ford F-100 four wheel drive pickup truck, the front axle was located by radius arms (from the frame near the rear of the transmission forward to the axle) and a  lateral track bar, allowing the use of coil springs that gave the Bronco a 34-foot (10.4 m) turning circle, long wheel travel, and an anti-dive geometry which was useful for snowplowing. The rear suspension was more conventional, with  leaf springs in a typical Hotchkiss design. A shift-on the-fly Dana Corp. transfer case and locking hubs were standard, and heavy-duty suspension was an option. The early Broncos from 1966-1977 had a relatively small production of 203,535 Wagons leaving the assembly line in total with only 16,750 Broncos Wagons making their way to new homes in 1970. Exactly 45 years after the first owner  of this Bronco proudly took delivery; it has been restored to what we would describe as "strong driver" quality and is ready to make a great weeekend vehicle for the new owners. The restoration of this 98k original mile Bronco started  in mid-2012 when the previous owner, also in Texas, performed an extensive refresh and tune up of the drivetrain, wheel bearings, brakes, Dana 30 front end, suspension, and new fuel system. This quickly added up to a $5,650 tab in under a  year. The expenses put into the Bronco were well worth every penny as they greatly improved the truck's reliability and drivability. When we purchased the Bronco it still needed the cosmetics addressed so it was sent out for a complete repaint in the middle of 2015. Mechanically it is completely sound and would make an outstanding drive to the trail rig. All the cancerous rusted areas were addressed and repaired correctly by South County Customs as seen in the Truckin Magazine article. It needs a new radio (the 1990s Sony one in the tuffy console finally gave up) and some new 6x9 boxes for the speakers on the back rear wells to make the sound system perfect. Truly built to be one of kind and it would cost a fortune to replicate......not to mention the time and effort. Blue title in hand. I'm currently driving this vehicle so the actual mileage may change. I am selling a 1989 Ford Bronco II that has been a daily in town driver. I think it is important for kids to learn how to drive a manual and my daughter drove this for 2 years to high school which was less than 4 miles away. It only left her stranded once because she left the lights on and since it is a 5 speed manual, she talked some buddies into push starting it and she made it home fine. It is a really fun car to drive and there are not many of these things left. The thing is 26 years old and it is definitely needs routine checking of fluids and stuff. The body isn't perfect, I have had it for about 3 years and hate getting rid of it but the boss says I need to. Recently it started acting up after it warms up, when you take off it'll act like its missing unless you really press on the accelerator. It'll do this regardless of what gear you are in. When you do press accelerator, it takes off just fine. I tried distributor cap, rotor, wires, plugs, and throttle position sensor and no change. I checked fuel pressure and that seemed good to. It has always idled a little rough but it runs just fine besides the missing issue. Here are a several of things to consider. I have gotten plenty of offers from friends but not sure that they would have the right expectations of owning an older vehicle like this. I'd rather be up front with everyone. 1. Oil leak - I may have to add about half a quart of oil about once a month, it has a small oil leak but I can't tell where exactly it is. The vehicle is not smoking and the oil does not have any radiator fluid in it. (It's never overheated) 2. Radiator leak - It has a radiator leak but has never overheated, I may add about a half gallon of radiator once a month but it has not been an issue. 3. Fuel leak - The gas tank will leak if it is filled all the way up. I typically wait until it get to about a 1/4 tank and will only add 10 gallons of gas. My best guess is that the fuel pump seal/gasket is leaking but never dropped the tank. Also, let's just say the fuel guage is non-linear. It doesn't seem to begin to measure until half a tank but then seems somewhat accurate.4. Freon leak - The description I said the AC does not work, it has a freon leak but I also have not put too much time into it. The compressor will kick on more so in the winter months. The fan only works on high.5. Rear ABS light indicator stays on. Not sure what is causing that.6. I have gotten a random check engine light but it does not stay on all the time. It has occurred when the idle issue occurs.7. You can see the headboard is coming apart and the dash is cracked.8. The vehicle was painted but the hood was not replaced and it looks as if rust may be coming up under the paint on the hood and the roof.9. I took off the spare tire holder because it damaged the rear hatch which is fiberglass. I left the bolts in the bolt holes and I no longer have the spare tire bracket. The spare tire is old and this does not come with the tire jack.10. The windows do go up and down but they need help guiding back up because the track guides are worn.11. The rear seats fold down but the rear seat on the driver side won't fold. It may be stuck. 12. The real window seal is damaged. 13. The rear seats have do have lap belts but they roll all the way back into the seat when not used.14. I have keys for the door locks but they don't work.15. The passenger seat has a seat cover because the base doesn't match. The base of the seat is the type that when the seat is folded all the way forward it allows the seat to move forward on a track. Rear tires are very good and the front tires are good. It passed inspection as is. Brakes are good. Catalytic converter and muffler are about 3 years old. It is a little noisy when starting (starter?) but it starts just fine. It doesn't smoke and oil stays clean. Overall, this is a really fun vehicle to drive like I said it idles a little rough and it has a really good turning ratio. Rear brakes were replace a couple of months ago. I have had no issue with shifting or the clutch. I also wanted to add that there is a mileage discrepancy on the title. It is because it it only goes to 99,999.99 miles. I listed the mileage as 138,000 by looking at the history. It also looks like it sat unregistered in NM for a few years before I got it. I bought it 2012 in Carlsbad NM and my daughter and I drove it to Houston TX with no issues at all. It also has some kind of tow bracket on the front bumper that I have never used. I just told my daughter it was a bumper for the bumper. There are definitely plenty of parts available for this baby bronco and I had dreams of further restoration but just don't have the time or money. Original owner. Purchased the truck in Lacey Washington and it has traveled with me on military PCS's. 100% smoke free. Customized a few years back with paint, interior rhino lined, chrome step, lifted with new wheels and over sized tires. Never used off road. Engine was replaced approximately 50k miles ago and transmission 10k miles ago. Runs absolutely great. The rear window and 4 wd switch work fine but have come away/cracked from the dash. There are some minor scratches and chips in the paint. The Ford Bronco was introduced in 1966 and was intended to capture the off-road audience. Continual improvements also meant the 6-cylinder manual transmission Bronco had gotten bigger.
