1959 Edsel Villager 6 Passenger Wagon! 1959 Edsel Villager 6 passenger wagon - Baby blue exterior with the original blue and tan interior. Only built Edsel's for 3 years – not many left and this ones clean. Features: Original inline 6 - 3spd manual transmission on the tree. Overall a solid car and 1 older repaint I think about 9yrs ago. Interior appears all original other than a dash repaint. Headliner is all original along with the vinyl floor. Interior is clean but is worn in areas see photo's. Some imperfections on the body. There appears so have had some poor body work on the passenger side door and quarter panel in the center section of both and was painted over, Solid car only area of rust is a section by the battery box due to a leaking battery and a few minor bubbles on the body (see photo's). Starts easy, sounds good and drives down the road slight noise from the engine on startup. I recently drove the car over 1hr away on the highway and it drove well. Radiator is leaking and seems to have a flow issue, when idling from a long period of time the temp will rise then return to normal when your moving. This Edsel has been in storage for the last 3yrs and should be gone over and fluids changed before any long haul or heavy use. I am selling my 1958 Ford Edsel 6 passenger Wagon, one of about 2000 ever made and a car that most people haven't even seen in person, which makes it a real head turner. This car is not a trailer queen but shows well for her age as an unrestored wagon with matching numbers and very little rust. She starts and runs strong with a 361 cubic inch V8, 400 foot lbs of torque and a 4 barrel carb. Original 3 speed transmission was moved from the column to the floor, but all column linkage will come with the car. Miles are unknown because the speedometer is not hooked up. Brakes work well/tires are good. Hood ornament and Villager logo on the driver’s side are missing. Floors are solid. Clean glass with the exception of passenger side wing window, this will need replacing. Original interior is in good condition, head liner has only one small hole, would rate as an 8 out of 10. Someone put a fuel cell in it but I have an original gas tank that will go with the car. Bought a set of EDSEL letters (one side is missing 2 E’s) that go with it as well. New aluminum radiator installed but still have the original that will go with her if buyer wants it. New battery and rebuilt generator. She has a 1960’s (not original to car) roof rack installed, slats are not installed but will come with the car. All this being said, she does need a little work to be a true daily driver but wouldn’t take a whole day to get her there. She books out between $8,000 and $10,000 in her current condition. Being conservative, I would give her a fair to low end good rating as she is in need of a few minor things before I would give her a solid good rating. In a solid good condition she would book out around $16,000 and up, a full restoring and she would be in the $30,000 to $40,000 market. I am open to offers but please be realistic!
