FULL DATA: 0U13W 700438 63A HM1 24 22J 3 3Built in Louisville, KY- the 438th Edsel built there for the 1960 model year with a scheduled production date of September 22, 1959. Sold new in Lynchburg. VA at Hammersley Motors. Car spent most of its life there until purchased by The King Family in Botetourt County in the 1980s. We purchased the car from them in 1995 and have owned it since. 292 auto orig Alaskan Gold with Polar White Roof HAVE COMPLETE NEW CORRECT Gold vinyl and brown pebblecloth SMS interior for car (See photos it is the correct vinyl for seats and door panels, vinyl panels and pebble cloth) COMPLETE CAR plus extra set of two door trim! (That is a rare and costly component alone!) Engine trans refurbished during start of restoration... Front clip still off but complete- radiator out of car: we were in process of putting engine components back in car when my father passed. Car ran fine when tested after refurbish... Transmission engaged and shifted without issue. All new sheet metal in rockers and quarter rust patched with sheet metal. Floors are solid. New brake lines included with car- exhaust system refurbish started. Fenders shown on trunk are extras- set for car are in primer and redone shown in separate photo here Car is in primer and stored for last five years. Car is complete. Selling my 1959 Edsel Ranger. I do not drive the car very much, So I have decided to sell it and let some one else enjoy it as much as I have. Car runs and drives good. Car looks good. I have taken it to some local car shows since I have owned it and taken a few second places with it. Car is not a 100 point show car. It is a nice cruiser car that looks good. I always get compliments on it every time I have it out. Chrome and paint are good, but there are some area's with rock chips and such. Previous owner had done all the work to the car, which was probably 12 years ago. I have owned the car a couple years. Car was originally white and was repainted the jet stream blue color it is now. Also previous owner said the motor and transmission had been rebuilt when all the other work was done 12 years or so ago. But I can not verify that positively. I think previous owner had also redone the interior. Everything is working except original radio was disconnected and a hide away radio installed. I do not know if original radio works or not. All lights work and clock runs most of the time. Clock does sometimes stop and then will restart if you adjust knob. Car has manual steering and brakes, but car stops good and steers easy. Car has dual exhaust and sounds good. Tires are in good shape. Odometer shows 78,569. Engine is a 292 with a 2 speed automatic transmission. All gauges function properly. Not sure when car had a tune up last, So it probably would not be a bad idea to do plugs and wires an a cap and rotor. Oil and filter should not need changed for a few thousand miles. Has a clear title. Being that this car is 57 years old it is being sold as is with no warranty! And keep in mind it's age and do not expect it to be perfect. Buyer is responsible for picking car up or arranging shipping. I will require a $250 non refundable deposit to be made after sale. And the balance to be paid for in Cash. Only built Edsel's for 3 years – not many left and this ones clean. Features: Original 361 V8 Super express - (Engine gone through 3 years ago with little use since). Rare 3spd Automatic transmission - Heater - Power steering - Power brakes – self adjusting. Overall a solid car and 1 older repaint I think about 30yrs ago. Interior looks newer and is clean. Headliner is missing but all the bows are included. Some imperfections on the body. The paint is old and there are some minor dents, scratches and staining in the paint but overall still looks great (Great patina as is or a full paint would look great as well). Only area of rust is a section by the battery box due to a leaking battery and a few minor bubbles on the body (see photo's). Motor has had work done about 3yrs ago.
