**Please Read Entire Listing*** I have for sale a perfect running 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie 12V mechanical diesel. The truck currently has 275,120 well maintained miles. I have invested a lot of money into the truck replacing most of the accessory parts and would not hesitate to drive the truck across country towing what ever I wanted!I bought this truck in January 2014 from a good friend who bought it from the second owner who lived in Pennsylvania, the truck is originally a Texas truck and has been in the northeast for roughly 3 years. This truck has ZERO rust! (The only rust is located inside the bed of the truck where an exhaust stack once was mounted) Engine/Transmission/Differentials:-275,120 miles (will go up slightly)**All work performed within the last 1000-2000 miles**-New Water Pump-New Serpentine Belt-New Steering Box (no death wobble)-New Power Steering Pump-Rebuilt the vacuum pump (which is notorious for leaking)-New high pressure steering hose-New Power Steering vacuum lines-Replaced rubber vacuum hoses in engine bay to heater box-Newer Ground Wires-New intake grid heater-New intake filter-New fuel filter -Flushed Heater Core-Flushed Radiator-Replaced Thermostat-3K Governor springs (to help towing/power not for "rolling coal"-Grinded down stock fuel plate to a "0"-4" down pipe to a 5" Flo-Pro Exhaust with a 6" MBRP tip*Transmission*-Transmission was rebuilt roughly 18000-19000 miles ago. (not sure who rebuilt it but if you get under truck the transmission looks brand new)-Transmission shifts perfectly with zero slips, grinds, bucks etc-Transmission was serviced in November 13'-Bands were checked but didn't need adjusting-Replaced Transmission filter, gasket and flushed system-I would recommend to change/flush the fluid in roughly 10k miles depending on driving conditions.Differentials:Front Diff: Opened up housing inspected all gears which all checked, replaced seal with silicon to ensure no leaks and changed fluidRear Diff: Opened up housing inspected all gears which all checked, replaced seal with silicon to ensure no leaks and changed fluid and added limited slip fluid4x4 fluid: drained and replacedBrakes/Suspension/Tires:-Brakes were replaced within 6000 miles-Truck stops with no problems, no squeals, squeaks etc-Rear drums were recently removed and machines-Brake fluid was replacedSuspension:Stock suspension-replaced the following within 5000 miles-Front ball joints, driver-side u-joint, tie rods-Added a rough country single steering stabilizer Tires:-Tires are 4000 miles old-Pirelli Scorpion STRa 265-75-16-Truck had an alignment in February 14-Interior:-Replaced dash board and has zero cracks!!-Sony Xplode head unit-Painted seat rails flat black-Interior is clean and has full power, power windows, lock and power driver seat(Power doors don't work, can't figure it out)-Interior is original and does show some wear but for a 1996 I would say its in good shapeExterior:The exterior of the truck does need some attention but isn't bad!-Fab Five Steel Bumper!! HEAVY DUTY!!!!!-No rust! The owner before me had an exhaust stack which rusted around the stack area. Its not bad but I want to disclose it.-The bed has a few dings -Front fenders were replaced because the original ones were dented**I have a brand new in the box, front grill, chrome front bumper, upper and lower plastics along with fog lamp inserts**-The body needs a little work to really bring the beauty out in the truck.Miscellaneous:-Replaced Windshield 7/14-rebuilt wiper motor-replaced windshield wipers-tinted window all rear windows 15%-replaced both front driver and passenger side windows-replaced front inner and outer weatherstripping moldings-Installed a class 5 tow hitch-Installed trailer brake controllerThe bad:-AC needs a charge-driver door has a slight sag and the door hinge is welded on. The previous owner did this, don't ask me why-There is a minor leak which I can't locate 100 percent. It started when i rebuilt the vacuum pump and removed the high pressure power steering hoses. I have a feeling the high pressure hose leaks when the wheel is at full lock. The fluid is clear and definitly not transmission or engine oil. This has been my favorite truck and runs awesome. The truck starts in the coldest weather and never overheats. Truck will tow anything you throw at it and is a true work horse/daily driver. The only reason I'm selling the truck is because I have a wedding planned and just bought a house and need as much money possible. Trust me, i don't want to sell this truck!!!!!! I have spent close to $5000.00 in parts to keep her up to date, the truck needs nothing except some body work! Im asking 6800.00 . If you want a reliable, excellent running cummins mechanical 12v turbo diesel this is for you. These motors are million mile motors if properly maintained.
