1927 Dodge Brothers Series 128Extremely Clean and OriginalExceptional Body and PaintRetains every original mechanical partOriginal leather seatL-Head 212%26#8221; 44hp 4 cylinder engineUnderbody extremely cleanMotoexotica is pleased to offer our latest addition, a 1927 Dodge Brothers Series 128 Coupe. Commonly referred to as the %26#8220;fast four%26#8221; this was the last of 4 cylinder Dodge Brothers vehicles before Chrysler%26#8243; purchase in 1928. The Dodge Brothers originally built chassis%26#8224;and engines for Henry Ford%26#8243; new Ford Motor Company, their partnership ended with a winning law suit against Ford. Set out to make a more upscale competitor to the famous Model T, the Dodge brothers made standard many innovations other companies wouldn%26#8244; adopt until many models later. For instance, they used an all-steel body, 12-volt electric system and a 3-speed sliding gear transmission. With Dodge%26#8243; higher build quality, their cars soon earned a reputation of superior durability and took second in sales in 1916.The Series 128 MotoeXotica has to offer is one of the finest preserved %26#8220;fast four%26#8221; in the country. This car is in better factory original condition then most cars on the road today. The exterior has been repainted with single-stage blue over black almost 30 years-ago and is in superb condition with no obvious chips or scratches, and shows extremely well. Fitted with the optional rear bumper; both front and rear are in excellent condition. Also the original fuel gauge on the rear fuel tank is still in place and functioning, along with the optional single rear tail light too. True to Dodge%26#8243; advanced standard equipment both front headlights, running off the 12-volt system, are original and still have the functioning dimmer switch. The previous owner replaced the vinyl top and side-steps with the original material; in fact Mr. Landoll is the owner of a company that still makes OEM style side-steps and running boards. Taking a step inside the originality continues, the original black leather bench seat is in good condition with no tears. All of the original gauges work; including the amp meter, oil pressure, and speedometer. Both original doors and glass function perfectly, demonstrating the Dodge Brothers quality even after all the years.Mechanically this Series 128 is as sound as when it was originally purchased. All four wooden wheels are in great condition with absolutely no signs of rot. True to the Series 128 the 14%26#8221; mechanical rear-only brakes are still in good operating condition. Since the early Ford engines were really Dodge Brothers engines, clearly Ford used them because of their quality and durability. Developing 44hp this L-head design 4 cylinder runs very well, with most of the original engine accessories still in place and functioning well including the correct North East generator, ignition, and electric system. Fuel is delivered by the original Stewart dual-barrel carburetor and vacuum fuel system. The only non-original addition is an electric fuel-pump that assists the original fuel system, but both pump and switch are hidden out of sight. Pre-war American cars in this condition are almost unheard of; this car could be driven daily or used as a show car. This is truly a very special Dodge Brothers Series 128 %26#8220;fast four.%26#8221;What are you waiting for? Pre-war cars are very uncommon in this good of condition. Don%26#8244; miss your chance. Beautifully Restored!Wonderful Piece of American Mobster History!Original Steel Body!Chevrolet 350ci V8 Crate Motor!700R4 Automatic Transmission!Coker White Wall Radial Tires!Machine Gun Front Mount %26amp; Replica Thompson Machine Gun!MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer one hell of a piece of American mobster history! We have in our showroom a 1932 Dodge Brothers Eight Sedan that has been beautifully preserved and then wonderfully restored as a bad ass street rod with a story!%26#8220;In 1933, the New York Times ran a story on a famous gangster named %26#8216;Iron Balls%26#8224;McGinty, who escaped New York in a very special car and was never heard from again.%26#8216;Iron Balls%26#8224;special ordered the car, a 1932 Dodge Brothers Eight four door sedan, directly from the Dodge Brothers. In response to a close call with %26#8216;Bugsy%26#8224;Moran, whom reportedly McGinty cheated out of a large sum of money, he specified the car to have tinted and bulletproof glass and an unheard of air conditioner system and an extra powerful V8 engine so he could outrun %26#8216;Bugsy%26#8243;%26#8224;henchment, if they ever tracked him down.%26#8216;Iron Balls%26#8224;fled to New York City, where he soon ran afoul of the local mob and was then eventually %26#8216;sold out%26#8224;to Moran.Nobody really knows what happened to McGinty, although rumor was that he was %26#8216;taken care of%26#8224;by %26#8216;Bugsy%26#8243;%26#8224;assassin squad. His car was discovered in 2003, intact but with bullet holes in the driver%26#8243; door, in Salt Lake City, during an urban renewal project, in a hidden chamber under an old speakeasy. Also in the chamber were 45 barrels of 76 year old moonshine, which are still in the possession of the Utah branch of the Federal Marshall%26#8243; office.%26#8221; %26#8226; The New York Times: Tuesday, May 13th, 2008.The car was sold at a US Marshall%26#8243; auction to Mr. Burman of Longwood, Florida who painstakingly restored the car with all the modern conveniences that you see today %26#8226; we have a stack of receipts that will be included with the purchase of the car.The body lines of this 1932 Dodge Eight Sedan are nostalgic of the day they first rolled out on the street 82 years ago and it looks incredible! The car has benefitted from a tasteful restoration that was done on the original steel body. The Dodge was rebuilt to modern specifications and has only traveled roughly 2,000 miles since its completion. The body is straight and very solid as it was beautifully preserved. All four doors, including the rear suicide doors, open and close easily with great gaps. The driver%26#8243; door has small bullet-hole decals that show where the bullet holes were in the door panel when the car was found under the speakeasy in Utah. The black paint job is in excellent condition and show only minor imperfections! The black paint has been accented subtly with silver, white and red pin-striping and it looks great! The chrome bumpers and stainless trim all appear new and look incredible throughout with a brilliant luster and shine. The classic %26#8220;Dodge Brothers%26#8221; emblems as well as the Ram hood ornament add to the seemingly classic sedan.Inside, the interior has been reupholstered, is very tidy and roomy. The backseat is HUGE! The beautiful burgundy vinyl seats are in excellent condition, showing no major signs of wear or tear. The door panels are in comparable condition to the seats with wood veneer-like trim that compliments the vinyl. The headliner shows no sign of sag or imperfection while housing the speakers for the stereo. The dashboard has been finished in matching wood veneer to the door panels and looks absolutely spectacular! There is also a beautiful wood Grant steering wheel that compliments the trim. The dash houses a set of parchment faced Dolphin Instruments gauges that look stunning and almost as if they should have been original to this smashing sedan! There is an aftermarket Pioneer stereo, complete with iPhone connectivity for the utmost in driver comforts. The interior compliments the exterior very well and looks fantastic! The Dodge is powered by a brand new, 350 cubic inch GM Performance V8 crate engine that sounds great! Mated to the engine is a hardy 700R4 automatic transmission with electronic overdrive that is shifted through a floor shifter. Other modifications to the drivetrain include a Mallory HEI distributor, modern collapsible tilt steering column, cruise control, Mustang II front disc brakes and Gen II Vintage Air conditioningBeneath the car sits a Chrysler rear end with 3.55:1 gears with new bearings, front independent suspension that was fabricated by Fat Man Fabrications and vari-shock rear suspension with 300lb springs and adjustable 4-link. The car sits with a slightly aggressive stance upon a set of 15%26#8221; Tru-Classic chrome spoke wheels wrapped snug in P235/75R15 Coker White Wall tires that really set off the look of this entire sedan! This car comes with plenty of documentation and literature. Included are photos of the restoration, literature from Vintage Air, Master Power Brakes, Pioneer, Dolphin Instruments and others. It also comes with a machine gun front mount and a replica Thompson machine gun as well as a suspension adjustment tool. This Dodge is a truly striking piece of craftsmanship and a massive piece of American mobster history!! It could be right at home in a collection or as a running and driving piece of history!! You are sure to turn heads anywhere you take this beauty! The VIN is 4521490 and the mileage currently shows 3,049. It is being sold on a clean and clear Florida title which says it was previously titled in the state of Utah. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
