This car was purchased for my wife on 2/28/80 from Bill Whiten Datsun in Birmingham, AL. She has been the sole driver these past 36-1/2 years and the car has been garage kept and lovingly maintained. The odometer currently reads 92,454 miles. A major tune-up was performed less than 300 miles ago (92,195) by noted Fort Worth area Z-car specialist Rising Sun Performance located in Benbrook, TX. Items addressed in the tune-up include: •Oil and filter change•New spark plugs•New spark plug wires•New fuel filter•New air filter•New distributor cap and rotor•Valve clearance adjusted•Head bolt torque checked•New valve cover gasket•New coolant temperature sensor•New thermostat•Coolant changed out•Air flow metering adjusted/optimized•Timing adjusted•Brake lines flushed and refilled with new brake fluid•Installed a new rear differential snubber Other modifications/enhancements:•Replaced the factory radio/cassette player with a single din CD receiver•New battery installed on 5/7/15. This battery is warrantied until 5/7/20.•The air conditioning system was professionally converted to R134a on April 7, 2016 by AA Auto Air of Haltom City, TX. This included a complete blowout of the old R-12 mineral oil and replacement with PAG oil and installation of a new dryer.•New headliner installed April, 2016.•New fuel pump installed June 9, 2016. The car runs and drives as it should. Starts right up and burns no oil. The transmission upshifts and downshifts quickly without hesitation. Everything works. The tires have about 50% tread remaining. The interior is in great shape. Neither of the headlights in this car has ever burnt out so they are the original Koito units that came with the car when it left the factory in Japan. There is a rust bubble that has appeared in front of the right rear tire that you can see in the photo. These vehicles were produced before modern double-sided galvanized steel panels and rust preventive coatings and to have this little corrosion is somewhat remarkable. Included with the car are the original bill of sale, window sticker, owner’s manuals, repair manuals and special ZZ Top double “Z” keychain from their “Sharp Dressed Man” video that is attached to the key. Also included are any receipts I have for lifetime warrantied parts (brake pads, fuel pump, hatch lift cylinders, etc.) I’ve installed on the car. We are selling this car because we have no more room to park all of our vehicles on our property. So, some of our vehicles have to go if we intend to purchase anything else. I have another vehicle listed for sale here as well. I’ve attempted to describe the car as accurately as possible. Be mindful that this is not a “brand new, off the showroom floor” vehicle but one that was carefully driven and exceptionally well maintained over the years. As is common with vehicles this age, there is no warranty expressed or implied. If you have questions call me at (817) 688-7856 or just click the “Ask Seller A Question” button located on this page. I will accept cash, cashiers check (vehicle released upon clearing) or PayPal payments only. Not looking for any “trades”. Shipping or delivery of the car will occur after payment has been received. I will express mail the title to any out of state buyers and deliver the car to your shipper at a pre-determined location in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Buyer will pay all shipping cost. International shipping is not available. This vehicle is also being offered locally so I reserve the right to cancel this listing should it sell.

Hello Z's lovers out there; I hate to do what I'm doing right now, but I don't have any other choice. We ran in to some financial issue and want to sell one of my favorite lovely toy. She is 1971 Datsun 240z with 280z engine. Previous owner (92 years old) bought it new from Fresno dealer in 1971 and drove it until late 90' and decided to swapped out original engine with brand new 280z ordered from Japan. During that time he modified body to race car looks (as you see) and repaint areas that he custom build body to original color. This car is 100% original excepts outside paint at the front and spoiler, rims, 280z engine, and 2 seats; 2 original seat look almost new and will go with the car. I have all maintenance records for this car from the first day that she got out dealer til today. There is NO RUST at all and she looks almost like a new car.I'm locating in Round Rock-Texas-78665. Please contact me if you have any questions. This is one of the best 240z in the country. Please come in and see her; she looks better than pictures. If you're out of states, please ensure bring someone to inspect her before buying. There will be $500 deposit through Paypal in 24 hours after you win the bid. The rest of the fund will be pay in pull with in 7 days and I only accept bank check (cashier check). I can help with arrange/schedule for shipping, but you have to pay for that.

In 2003, it was shipped to Texas for the rest of the family to enjoy. A good amount of preventative maintenance has performed on this 280ZX GL Coupe over the past year. Of which includes: New brake master cylinder, new brake lines, pads, rotors (all around), new wheel bearings, MAF, Cyl Head temp sensor, new spark plugs, ignition cap & rotor, new O2 sensor, new tires (not even 40 miles on them, installed July of 2016) The gearbox was replaced several years ago as the original one had worn out, as well as some leaky injectors. The stock exhaust was replaced with a muffler from MotorsportZ (sounds very good)! KYB struts were installed about 10 years ago, along with a headliner previously. If you are looking for a unmolested, survivor Datsun 280ZX, you would be hard pressed to find a nicer one! The overall look, feel, and drive quality of this 280ZX is comparable to that of a 10 year old car with 50k miles! It is truly a pleasure to drive, and it has cold A/C! :)Call or Text Spencer Heitman for more information at 214-893-3976. Shell is great for someone with a rusted body looking to transfer as it is very clean. Currently in primer. It will need a nes hood or to have current hood fixed as it has a few rust spots, not unfixable though. Car was setup for v8 swap and has fuel cell installed, coilovers on all 4 corners, shaved engine bay ( battery tray removed). I have the interior for the car I am missing one a pillar trim piece. Dash work was started for removing the side ac vents since roll cage and vintage air was going into the car. This isn't a 2k z so don't ask. If its your first z you won't understand the cost of Zs and why the body is so important as you will almost always pay more to bring the body back to life than the car itself. Rear spoiler is shown in pictures but not included with car. Car has 2 spots left that need to be addressed. I was just going to grind that out and prep with por15 as that is covered by door seal. No need to waste 100 getting that cut and replaced. Underneath the car is nice and clean (dusty as its in storage) Video: Underneath. https://youtu.be/ZlAWtCVXYCo Walk around. https://youtu.be/YKHwfF0BaM4 Feel free to call or text 2817047534 Kevin

This 1977 Datsun 280Z is a survivor (not restored) that had been in storage for over 20 year before I purchased it. The interior and exterior are all immaculate with no rust, cracks in the dashboard or leather seats. Even the radio works! There are only minor scratched and oxidation from regular wear and tear. The car is well maintained, 100% drive-able, and has a new radiator, alternator, clutch fan, and struts. I also have the records for all service done to the car. I rode a motorcycle most of college and drove the car when it got cold. I worked with several experts with the intention of restoring the car but decided I couldn't give it the love and car it needs. I believe there are very few of these cars left especially in this condition. If you have any questions about the car please let me know. M

Selling \ trading my project to do something bigger. Car has had extensive body work done to it. Fuel cell in place, coil overs on all 4 corners, big brake upgrade for front desk, complete original interior, new bushings everywhere. Car will need a new hood prior to paint. Also comes with front air dam new in box from MSA. Work was started on dash to cover the side vents so that vintage air unit would blow from center only. Vintage air unit not part of the listing. The VQ motor is out of a 2007 NISMO 350z that had 22k miles. I personally drove the car and verified the miles prior to pulling. I pulled the motor as well and the harness is complete, the only wire that was cut goes to the brake controller. Also have the drive by wire gas pedal and the ignition with original key. Transmission is still connected to motor. All accessories are also still on the motor. McKinney motor sports sells the items needed for the swap (Drive shaft, engine mount, trans mount and shifter relocating bracket) for 1800. I kept the wiring harness complete so that I could use the existing NATS on the car. I would prefer a project I will be able to enjoy with both of my kids when wife's not around. Will consider trades 2 doors with 4/5 seats, No 4 door, nothing past 1986 and no rust buckets. Rolling chassis are welcomed if its the right one 55/56/57 no post rollers, nomad, hudson hornet, pontiac safari wagon and so on are welcome. I like classics a lot. I've done a lot of Zs and this was going to be my favorite one of all, but have to be practical at some point. I still have the donor car I pulled the motor from so if there is any other part you think you may need off of the car feel free to let me know. Shipping will require a shipper who will crate the motor and trans for you. Calls are welcomed 281-704-7534 Kevin

Passenger seat needs reupholsteredPaint; me and my best friend strip the car down and painted it black and My uncle Charles's backyard we took the car apart entirely doors hood spoiler and painted everything black. We clear coated the car and then airbrushed the flames blended with Art we put clearcoat over that. car has never been buffed out the last four photos show the flaws of the paint there are two rust blisters on the car Each blister is about an inch and a half square One is above the left fender as shown the other is next to the gas cap there is also a line we were unable to paint below the new spoiler the old spoiler covered up this area. This is shown in one of the photos. There is a paint chip on the driver door as shown it is about 2 inches long by what happens long there is damage to the rear left as shown in the pictures this happened while in storage it is now a mixture of metal in fiberglass it needs to be repaired. The car is 38 years old. There is some rust underneath but not much the car is far from rusted out can be driven dailyThe work was done by a company called awesome Z. The car is in storage a short distance from their shop. I cannot stress enough that they did an extensive amount of work to the car it was in their shop about a year and a half. We can take the car over to their shop to verify work. You can also have an independent inspection to verify work The dash has no cracks. The glass has no chips or cracks on any windows or windshield. The car runs easily up to 70 mph and has no shakes or vibration at all. The car had an alignment done as part of the mechanical restoration. The wiring on the car was completely gone through. I beleive the car will easily make a long distance trip across country if you wish to drive it back home. I cannot stress enough that Awesome Z did an extensive amount of work to the car. Car is Professionally mechanically restored. Car can be driven daily.

1978 Datsun 280z, with a Ferrari 250 GTO Body Kit. Great Kit.Condition of the car is in good condition. No known defects. I bought the car nearly two years ago, and never finished it. Now my priorities have changed. I did make a lot of awesome changes to the characteristics of the car. I replaced the entire suspension system. All new bushings, all new inner and outer tie rods. Sway Bars on front and rear of car. New shocks. This car corners like a dream!!! I drive and race porsches and this car handles better than any porsche I have ever driven, takes a corner like a champ!! Brand new Tires. Less than 200 miles on them. New Clutch, points and distributor cap. The car runs good. Things I think need to happen to the car..... The interior is original to the car. Needs to be updated. Its worn, and needs to be changed out to complete the 250 gto look. The motor runs good, so does the transmission. However, i think (i dont know for sure) its original to the car (1978) the odometer reads 02,958 so who knows if its rolled once or twice?? I doubt its rolled twice, its got good compression, but to be honest to complete the tranformation, it needs a motor with much more Horse Power. The car is located in Houston, Texas. I would hope a true prospective buyer would come before agreeing to purchase this car and drive it with me. We can drive it, beat it like a red headed step child then drive it some more. Its a fun car, most people have never seen a real 250 gto. It turns heads. This car would be nothing short of awesome if the interior were complete and the motor was changed out with a small block, or even fix this motor up with some rebello heads on it!! Google it, there is an elite following of these cars out there.

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE I'm selling a custom restored 1976 Datsun 280Z. I originally purchased the car in California in 2008. The person I purchased the car from purchased it with approximately 165,000 miles on it in July of 1994. In 1999 a parts car was purchased with a rebuilt engine (Westside Engine and Machine, Santa Rosa, CA) and transmission (Vasser Automotive, Santa Rosa, CA) - both with approximately 1500 miles on them. From 1999-2003 the car was painted and had the engine and transmission swapped from the parts car (Painted 5/2003 ~$5700). In May 2003 the car was re-registered and fully assembled with approximately 230,000 miles on the body. Over the following years there were a large number of modifications performed – all records from this period until now are in a binder, but below is a list of some of them: Motorsport Dash Cover, polyurethane bushings, custom exhaust, Dynamat sound deadening, 4 piston calipers, stainless braided brake and clutch hoses, new injectors and harness plugs, new ball joints and tie rod ends, viper Alarm (currently disconnected), lowered suspension, CenterLine 16x7 Billet Corsair rims, and Bullet mirrors. Since I purchased the vehicle in September of 2008 I replaced the window weatherstripping, replaced the alternator belt and the ignition switch. About $3000 worth of engine work was done in 2012 in an effort to get engine closer to stock components. In the past year there has been a new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder and a new alternator installed. Approximately 14k miles have been put on the car over the last 12 years - about 4k of those have been put on the car over the past 7 years. The body is in overall amazing shape. That being said, there are a few paint chips noted (see pictures). In addition, there are 2 cracks (1 on each side of the rear window - right side more prominent than the left side which is barely visible) at the junction of the splice of the rear quarter panel and the roof section. This was a very common problem in the old Z's - where there was a joint at this location - from what I'm told, it doesn't degrade the body's strength or integrity. You don't see these cracks unless you are very close to them. There are small tears on the door vinyl on both sides (see pictures). There is a small tear in the shifter boot (see pictures).I've been told the car was an a/c car, but when it was restored in California the a/c was not replaced. I have not replaced it. The car runs great and sounds fantastic with the custom exhaust - not too loud but certainly has a bit of growl to it. The engine and transmission have only 15,000 miles on them since being rebuilt in 1999.This Z looks great, runs fantastic, is a blast to drive and gets lots of complements.
