Offered for sale is an outstanding example of the legendary Datsun 240Z. Sold new at Miller Imports in Van Nuys, CA this Z had spent 40 years in Los Angeles until it was relocated to San Diego, always a Southern California car, still wearing its original blue license plates. Unrestored, other than one repaint in the 80's the car is very original retaining nearly every part it had came with from the dealership. The body has survived the years without falling victim to any major rust or rot other than some light surface rust beneath the battery which has since been treated. Interior is in remarkable shape considering that red can fade very quickly. All carpet, underlayment, panels, trim and very rare un-cracked dash are all factory, everything other than the seat upholstery which would have been red. The Z still has that fantastic 70's classic car aroma when you get behind the wheel, a true time capsule that you can see, feel, and smell. The key and seat belt warning buzzers/light still function along with the map light, cigarette courtesy bulb and dome lamp. All the bulbs are still factory Koito including the headlights. Of course the motor is #'s matching and has never been apart, smog equipment is untouched, functioning and still has corrosion free Zinc coating on the components. Nothing is missing or broken under-hood and the Z has a rare dealer installed Air Conditioning system which is complete yet currently needs to be serviced or converted to updated coolant. Also the exhaust system is in great shape, no holes original all the way back to the factory muffler and tip. When I purchased the car it had been stored in the original owner's garage and last registered in 1989. Thankfully, it had been properly prepared for in-operation. It was a true "Garage Find" with some boxes on the roof and a thick layer of dust covering everything. After towing it home I proceeded to prime the engine, file the points, hook up a new battery, etc. and it fired right up. After that it took a few months for me to get the maintenance items and detailing done, getting it to look and run the way it does today. There are no mechanical issues, everything functions properly, it fires up cold on the first crank with the choke, warms up nicely, runs cool, shifts smoothly and has impressive power for an Automatic w/ A/C. From the start I had the idea of converting the Auto to a Manual transmission but after driving it I just couldn't bring myself to change it since it functions the way it should and doesn't take away from the driving experience as much as I thought. With brand new tires, plugs, fluids, and adjustments the Z runs as good as it looks. It's a turn key car ready to drive. It comes with the original owners manual, Miller Imports warranty booklet/card, and a folder of receipts. I'm really heartbroken that I can't continue to own and enjoy this car but it must go on to a new owner who, I hope, will care for it as much as I have. If you have questions please email and I will be glad to reply as soon as possible.

Experienced restorers are well aware that rust is not just expensive but also time-consuming and no matter how you fix it, it keeps showing up on other places in the near future, starting from bubbles. Most of 'rusty' project cars were left abandoned cause owner loose interest, i'm sure you heard these stories too many. By far, this Zero-Rust 280Z is an easy project, even for an average backyard restorer, don't matter if you are a purist or resto-mod guy.Vehicle inspection before end of auction, not after. Datsun made s30 Z car from 1970 to 1978, again this '76 280Z carry the most sought after matching-number Triple N42 Engine (block, head and intake) all together. I know what i have and truly sad to let her go, cause to find one in this Shape-of-Survivor in California is next to impossible, for whoever the new owner is, you are not buying an ordinary Z car, but a one-off Z (California Survivor In Factory Paint), a classic Z car which considered to be in 'endangered species' because they are being crushed inside junkyards on daily basis. Pictures will show how truly special this California Z is, unabused classic in original patina. Finally, please bear in mind that this is not a game, so please don't bid if; you don't have the funds to pay for the vehicle or you need wife's permission...lol. Please no scammers or mark up cashier's check fraud, i heard them all. Local pickup preferred, as for other states or overseas buyer must arrange shipping, i will be glad to help load the car once full payment is cleared. If you have reasonable question please ask before auction ends, thanks for visiting.

Offered for sale is an outstanding example of the iconic Japanese sports car that is the 240z. This Z was sold new in Bakersfield, CA to a man that bought the car for his wife. They owned the car for nearly 40 years until they reluctantly sold it as it wasn't driven anymore. It was always kept in the garage. The very rare, crack free original dash along with the condition of the rest of the car speaks to this. Nearly everything on the car is original including the numbers matching motor and all the functioning smog equipment. It was repainted once in the late 70's but looks as if it were done recently. It has never been hit or taken apart, all the body lines and gaps are crisp and correct. It also avoided ever getting the popular dealer installed door bumper guards. All factory rubber and weather-strip is still flexible and nice. Glass is also all original and crystal clear. Recently it has been inspected for safety and found to still be using Sumitomo front brake pads, which are believed to be only installed at the factory, this along with pedal wear and overall condition makes the 37k on the odometer believable as actual mileage. However there is no documentation to verify this so it may have rolled over once. The pads are still safe so they remain, though it did receive fresh oil, plugs, new water pump, drive belts, and filters. The factory A/C has also been recharged and works! Tires are Michelin X with 80% tread remaining. Also instead of points it now has an electronic pickup for reliability. It did receive new exhaust as well which is louder than the stock can and makes the exhaust note sound fantastic. I would love to keep the car but must let it go to a new owner, who will I hope, care for it as I have. Since I've owned it has been kept in the garage and to keep it rust free have never used water to wash it, only careful waterless cleaning. Overall, it is a turn key car that is fully functional and a pleasure to drive. It feels like driving a new car, it's nice and tight and performs as it should. If you're looking for a fun to drive classic that will only go up in value don't let this one get away. Please ask questions - inspections are encouraged - sold as is with no warranty implied.

This is a gorgeous 1970 Datsun 240Z. Sold new in southern California where it has remained since. Notorious for rust, this 240Z is rust free and all the panels are original. The floors and frame are perfect. No damage or repairs. The Original Yellow paint was redone once better than it was when new. It has the 2.8 Turbo conversion done properly and professionally with the desired 5 speed transmission upgrade. HKS control setup running 10lbs boost at over 300 horsepower. Full exhaust upgrade, upgraded computer (original included). Full Wilwood slotted disc multi piston brake conversion front and rear. Expensive Forged monoblock wheels made in Japan on newer tires. The body is laser straight and as clean as the pics look. Carbon fiber hood and front air damn. All of the best parts were used bringing it to this level and no expense was spared. There is over $30,000 invested in this 240Z. Many polished and light weight aluminum upgrades in the drivetrain. Clean California title included and the registration is current. I have little space for parking here in San Diego and I use my other cars more often so it is time to part ways. Always garage parked. This 240Z is quicker than my modified NSX was. Stage 3 clutch, fully upgraded internals on the 2.8 conversion and the turbo was reworked for improvements. The motor sounds great and the transmission shifts flawlessly. Tight steering and the suspension was upgraded. This 240Z took years to bring to this level and it was a clean original 240Z to start with. The radio was upgraded and it works well. Full gauge and cluster upgrade as shown. Comes with a number of original parts that fit in the back for transport. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer 240Z with the original body in this condition. The price on the original Z is rising and this particular 240Z is collector quality. I have it priced to move. International buyers accepted. I took many pics to show it better than words can describe, click view all below to see them. Located in San Diego, California.
