DO YOU NEED TO TOW A CAMPER OR BOAT? LOOK NO FURTHER! Why are we selling? We're moving to Costa Rica and it costs a ton of $$ to get it there.  This beautiful 2005 Jeep Liberty is an exceptional SUV. I am the second owner and this is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. Why? It's an SUV that will tow like crazy and still gets nearly 30 mpg (almost 20 mpg when towing) Here are the stats. Diesel engine made by Mercedes. Automatic Transmission Full Size Spare Less than 90k miles Easy to tow a boat or small camper. We used to tow an 18' camper in the mountains of Colorado. 30 MPG! Read that twice. An SUV that gets nearly 30 MPG. See below for some info on the after market tune I did on the vehicle. Nearly 20 MPG when towing 4WD - Switches into Part Time on the fly. I can't link directly to their website per Craigslist policies, but if you search "Green Diesel Engineering - Jeep Performance ECU Chip Tuner" on Google, it is the second result under the main site. This will give you the entire comparison chart.  What is a "tune?" It is when you change the computer making adjustments to make the vehicle better. You can find aftermarket tunes for lots of different vehicles out there.  Here are some highlights: 28 MORE horsepower 35 MORE foot pounds torque 5 MORE MPG than the stock tune This SUV is beautiful outside. I just had it painted LAST WEEK because Jeep's factory paint is notorious for fading and mine had faded around the passenger doors. I painted it the original factory "Pepsi" blue color. Are there any negatives? *Spare tire is not new. I recently purchased four new tires, but took the best of my old ones and put it on as the spare.  *Check engine light is on - The reason is because the #4 glow plug is throwing a code. What does this mean? Each cylinder has a glow plug that warms the fuel for starting in cold climates. We moved here from Colorado where we lived at 8,200 feet in Colorado and never had trouble starting it with only three glow plugs. Thus, I have never changed it to make the light go off.  If you wanted to change the plugs, it is not expensive, but you'll need to make sure to change all four plugs at once with 7V plugs. The aftermarket tune is not compatible with 5V plugs that Jeep currently uses. You'll need to order 7V plugs, then change all four at once.
