Thank you for taking a look !!... 1965 Model Information : The 1965 Corvette Stingray was the last year for fuel injection until 1982 when the L83 cross-fire fuel injection was introduced. This was the first year for the "Big Block" a 396ci, 425hp engine that also required a special hood to give clearance for the larger power plant. The hood also has the funnel shaped "power blister" air scoop. The vertical louvers on the side of the car are now functional and the blacked out grill has horizontal bars. The depressions on the standard hood were removed. The rocker panels were again restyled as well. New knock-off wheels were finally available from the factory, they were painted dark gray in between the fins. A side exhaust system was offered which made the car look even more aggressive. A telescoping steering wheel and new gauges influenced by aircraft design were added as well. Disc brakes were standard for the '65 Vette but drums could be substituted for a $64.50 credit. The seats were redesigned with larger and more supportive cushions. This was the only year for the 396 C.I. "Turbo Jet" engine. The antenna is now powered and is standard. A special order heavy duty transmission (M22) dubbed the "Rock Crusher" because of the sounds it makes while shifting was an option in '65. * 396 C.I. / 425 H.P. "L78" spec's : Cast in high-chromium content iron, the completed engine weighed 680-pounds. The genius of the design is in its build-in strength and the head design. The modified wedge combustion chamber, with a large quench area for cooling, allowed the intake and exhaust valves to be angled towards their ports, providing vastly improved breathing and increased volume of fuel mixture for each cylinder. The heavy bottom end with 4-bolt main bearing caps keep the crankshaft alive. A single Holley four-barrel carb sat atop of an aluminum intake manifold and an open-element air filter. Solid-lifters, forged pistons, free-flow cast-iron exhaust manifolds, a transistorized ignition, and a 17-inch diameter viscous-drive fan finished off the package. The new 396 L78 was underrated at 425-HP and 415-ft/lbs of torque, the real numbers were closer to 450-HP, nearly 100 more than the L84 Fuelie. Thank you for taking a look !!... 1965 Model Information : The 1965 Corvette Stingray was the last year for fuel injection until 1982 when the L83 cross-fire fuel injection was introduced. This was the first year for the "Big Block" a 396ci, 425hp engine that also required a special hood to give clearance for the larger power plant. The hood also has the funnel shaped "power blister" air scoop. The vertical louvers on the side of the car are now functional and the blacked out grill has horizontal bars. The depressions on the standard hood were removed. The rocker panels were again restyled as well. New knock-off wheels were finally available from the factory, they were painted dark gray in between the fins. A side exhaust system was offered which made the car look even more aggressive. A telescoping steering wheel and new gauges influenced by aircraft design were added as well. Disc brakes were standard for the '65 Vette but drums could be substituted for a $64.50 credit. The seats were redesigned with larger and more supportive cushions. This was the only year for the 396 C.I. "Turbo Jet" engine. The antenna is now powered and is standard. A special order heavy duty transmission (M22) dubbed the "Rock Crusher" because of the sounds it makes while shifting was an option in '65. * 396 C.I. / 425 H.P. "L78" spec's : Cast in high-chromiun content iron, the completed engine weighed 680-pounds. The genius of the design is in its build-in strength and the head design. The modified wedge combustion chamber, with a large quench area for cooling, allowed the intake and exhaust valves to be angled towards their ports, providing vastly improved breathing and increased volume of fuel mixture for each cylinder. The heavy bottom end with 4-bolt main bearing caps keep the crankshaft alive. A single Holley four-barrel carb sat atop of an aluminum intake manifold and an open-element air filter. Solid-lifters, forged pistons, free-flow cast-iron exhaust manifolds, a transistorized ignition, and a 17-inch diameter viscous-drive fan finished off the package. The new 396 L78 was underrated at 425-HP and 415-ft/lbs of torque, the real numbers were closer to 450-HP, nearly 100 more than the L84 Fuelie. 1984 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible Biarritz, with 25,365 actual miles. The first owner was the owner of a large advertising firm in Scottsdale Arizona, and bought the car for his wife. He sold the car in 1997 to his business partner, he also bought it for his wife. I believe the car had 17,000 miles on it at the time. It was driven sparingly in the summer and it has been properly stored all its life, the pictures do not do the car justice. It does have a few extras including continental kit, and custom grill. From the factory, the car was loaded with every option that year, including things like electronic climate control and the Delco Premium Stereo. This car is as close to new as you're going to find, everything on the car works, there is no hesitations, and nothing rattles. The interior is like new, the leather on the seats is excellent, the dash is rich in color and not cracked anywhere. This car has no seen extended time periods in the sunlight, you can see that from the pictures. I did replace the original top this spring, it had some fraying on the edges, I was probably too picky but I wanted it done. The paint is original and the chrome is close to flawless. There is really nothing bad to talk about. In my opinion, this is probably the best color combination Cadillac offered on this car. It was born this way, the carfax will back it up. If you are a true car collector or enthusiast, you will appreciate this car. If you have any questions, I’d be happy to do my best to answer them. I am selling my Mercedes and am going to a newer model. I've owned this since 2009. I bought it with 12,000 miles and have put approx. 3000 miles on it per year. It sits in heated storage in the winter and is rarely used in the summer. This was a Mercedes buy back program and was purchased back because of 4 things, 2 of which were found to be non existant, the third to be a normal campaign item and the 4th because of a dead battery. In the 6 years that I've owned it, I have not had a single problem with it other than a couple batteries that died during storage last year. They were replaced and everything was fine. Mercedes and Luxury Auto Mall of Sioux Falls have done all my routine services like A, B, C, etc. They replaced the batteries. If you are interested in the vehicle and want to have it checked out, there are two places in town that are capable of handling this and you can sure have them look at them on your behalf.
