It's not a shell and it's not for parts only...unless you want it to be. It runs...it drives...it needs a gasket...it needs cosmetic work...its a project. Thanks for your time and interest. The Story :: The vehicle had the cam shaft, lifters, push rods, spark plugs, fuel pump, manifold intake gasket and seals, oil pan seal, timing chain, thermostat, water pump all replaced. It was thought that the old head gaskets were in good condition...wrong. Sooo, when it came time to break the cam shaft in the vehicle ran great. I was able to put a little over 500 miles on it. Then it started drinking water...over heating etc.. That's when the thermostat was changed. Well it continue to do so with me noticing additional signs of what the issue was pointing to. This is what it is doing that lets me know it's the gaskets :: :: Head Gasket issues Heavy white smoke Milky oil Over heating drinking water Coolant keeps going bye bye (I'm sure due to over heating) This is a great car. Listing one last time.Magnificent car highly optioned...cost about 120,000 sticker price.Always pampered, garaged, cleaned, etc.I bought an extended warranty for this car....still has plenty of time to go on it. I checked with my mechanics....they recognize and use this warranty company...no problems. The only negative that I know about is wheel rash. I don't get it fixed (easy fix) because it would just happen again. Those 19 inch rims are beautiful...but vulnerable. Has driver's assistance options....in my opinion it is foolish to buy this kind of a car without these features. The adaptive cruise control alone is worth the price of the package. Also has blind spot warnings, lane wandering warnings, night vision, drowsy driver warnings, collision warnings, etc. It is an amazing group of features which in 2012 were quite ahead of their time, but in 2017 you can get some of these features on many kinds of cars....some cheap cars as well! This car also has the usual Premium and sports packages. And of course there is a huge list of standard features common to all S class cars. It is easier to say what it does not have: no back seat package, no Burmeister, to panoramic sunroof...but it DOES have a perfectly fine sunroof which I never use. This car is a special ordered color: Dolomite brown on the outside, Chestnut on the inside. These colors are gorgeous and attract admiration wherever I go. So nice not to have the usual black or gray. Not just a super car, but a beautiful and rather rare one to boot! I am taking this car for its annual servicing on Friday, December 30th. It has only been driven about 3000 miles in the last year, but I get it serviced on time, not miles. I will be asking for a report on brake life and tire life. They will completely check over the car for problems. Believe me, they leave nothing unchecked....they LIKE to find problems to fix so they can earn more money! I love this car but I have financial concerns because of recent life changes, and I can keep it but I would also like to sell it. So I am motivated, but not desperate. My asking price is the least amount of money I will accept for this car. I look all over the internet for cars like mine. Lots of S550's out there, less with 4Matic, much less with the above described options, almost none with special ordered colors. I am glad to answer questions for you if the information in this description is insufficient.
