987.2 Cayman S with the 3.4L DFI motor that was only in the 2009-2012 Caymans. The previous 987.1 caymans had engine failures due to a few design issues. Very desirable color combo and options (including Bose high end sound package). This car has been garage kept it's entire life, there is not a scratch or dent anywhere on it. Never seen salt, rain or snow...it is literally showroom new. The car has never been tracked or raced. I am the 2nd owner, the estimated number is incorrect. I have done tasteful modifications to the car and primarily used it for car shows and the occasional dinner with the wife. One of the lowest mileage and cleanest caymans you will come across. If you have any questions or would like more pictures, feel free to contact me. The car is competitively priced. I am a PCA member and Porsche enthusiast. I'm relisting and have added Make an Offer as an option, but if I don't sell it this go-around I will restore it. I'm selling my 85,000 original mile 1962 Thunderbird Factory Sports Roadster that I've owned since early 1982. At the end of 1982 I had the engine and trans rebuilt then, after approximately 1,500 additional miles I put the car in the garage for the winter. In the fall of 1983, in anticipation of doing a complete ground-up restoration, I completely disassembled the car down to the rolling frame/body, changed out the slightly dented front fenders with perfect replacements (hence no emblem holes visible in the pix), sandblasted the body inside and out, red oxide primed it and rolled it back into the garage. I intended to tilt it and sandblast the frame and undercarriage next, but two kids, the demands of everyday life, and quick time passage have made the last 30 years come and go without my returning to work on the Roadster. The car is a solid example of the most sought after of Bullet Birds. The body and frame are in excellent, straight condition, and it's obvious that the car was never in any major accident. It has solid floors and trunk, and the four most important structural areas of the car – the front shock towers and the rear spring mounting components – are in excellent condition, with only a hint of surface scaling (see pix). It is just about impossible to find unrestored Roadsters in this condition anymore, as all the good ones have been done and what is left, if you can even find one, is usually a rustbucket that's beyond reasonable restoration. I looked for nearly 7 years for a good, solid, unmolested Roadster to drive then restore before I bought this car. Although it was a good running original Roadster, it did not have wire wheels, tonneau cover or grab bar, so they are not included in this sale. They are available if you look in the usual places. This car's lines are straight down the side, she sits tall and evenly, and there is very little rust on her at all. The bolt-supports under the area where the battery tray mounts and the very bottom of the quarters 'fore and aft of the rear wheelwells are the only areas that will require any minor metal repair (see specific pix). My garage was part of the house and was nice and dry with a poured concrete floor, but it was not heated so the red oxide has weakened over 31 years so the body should be re-abraised before being primed and painted. I always sand blasted with 000 sand as it removed any and ALL rust and provided a nice clean surface for the primer to adhere, so there's no surprise rust-throughs in any of the areas already blasted and primed. As can be seen in the photos, I have all the parts that were removed from the car stored in the garage, many in boxes, and the engine is on a pallet. The interior parts are in remarkably good condition, including the seats, with only the bottom drivers side cushion needing total replacement. The glass is all original and good, including the windshield, and there is an extra rear bumper that is straight as an arrow and suitable for rechroming. When I bought the car the top frame was damaged in the usual place – rear lift arms, but I secured the necessary undamaged replacements so the complete top frame parts are all included. The package tray has some rust in the corners where they all wear but is otherwise solid. The flip lid, hood and trunk lid are also solid. The usual wear parts like rubber, top material, exhaust components, etc. will need to be procured, but that's part of the normal restoration process. I did keep all the insulation and trunk matting that was either still in one piece or came off intact and that will come with the car to be available for pattern-making. As the front "clip" of 61 thru 62 TBirds was bolted to the frame and was removable as a unit, it is important to verify that the body numbers match those on the clip to make sure there's been no replacement of a rusted-out or accident-damaged unit with a non-matching replacement. This car is totally numbers matching and I've included pictures of the VIN at both the front right radiator support position as well as the top of the body at the right front cowl position to confirm that they match from the factory. This Roadster, when finished, will be a $50,000 + beauty. I know the cost of restoration, so I've priced it to make the purchaser feel like there's significant upside in its completion. I've reduced it to a Buy It Now price of $9,000, but will consider a reasonable offer. The car and all the parts are in my garage located in Media, PA, 15 miles from the Philly airport. I have a large driveway so that a flatbed can pull up in front of the car, load it on, and drive away. A pickup truck should suffice to carry all the other parts, including the engine, but I recommend moving blankets or other padding be brought to protect the glass and other delicate parts. I have a small engine puller that can be used to lift the engine onto a pickup bed. I will contact the buyer within 24 hours of auction's end to discuss pickup arrangements, so the winner should E-mail me with a contact phone number. A $500 deposit paid via PayPal is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction, with the purchase price balance due in cash or wire transferred funds within 3 days thereafter. The winning bidder has 7 days from auction's end to remove the car and all the parts. I've been buying and selling via ebay for more than a 15 years and I have a spotless 100% feedback rating. I accurately describe everything I sell and no one has ever been disappointed in their purchase because I intentionally mis-described an item or misled them in any way. I expect any potential bidder/buyer to adhere to the same high standard and will tolerate no less so please, if you don't intend to complete a purchase or plan to play some other game, go to someplace else to play.
