Up for sale is my 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS High Sport Edition. 167k miles and going up-daily driver. Power everything with heated seats and everything works. Cold AC,all the gauges work as they should. Nice sound system with XM radio(need to subscribe),CD player works and sounds great. The car has Onstar but I do not have service on it. I have 2 sets of keys with the original window sticker. The interior is in good shape,the headliner,carpet,door panels,dash etc. are all in good condition with no problems,there is a couple cigarette burns in the rear seat,the front seats show very little wear. The silver dash kit was put on at the dealer. The paint is ok-it looks great from 20' away but the closer you get the more you see the scratches and small spots. It also has little rust starting on the drivers side front fender bottom. Small ding on the rear bumper. 4 Goodyear tires with plenty of tread. Good inspection sticker.I drive this car 200+ miles a week.. The car is not perfect and has some issues: Overdrive is not working. I took it to a transmission shop and was told it was probably the spline gear. A trans shop could fix it or you could put another tranny in it///////Sometimes the check engine light comes on,it is showing a P0420 code-oxygen sensor or catalytic converter-I think oxygen sensor and will try to check it this week///////There was a vibration at about 60-70 mph, I thought it is the wheel bearings and put a new set on but now I changed tires around and think the tires are out of balance or one has broken belts-I will have all 4 balanced. I am only selling this car basically because I don't want to spend any more money on it. I will consider any offers but keep in mind that Ebay will charge me $125 to sell it. NOTE: the Monte Carlo emblems on the sides and trunk have been painted white,I'll put new pics up if possible. 4 newer Goodyear tires with plenty of tread. Good inspection sticker. Issues: (1)Overdrive is not working. I took it to a transmission shop and was told it could be solenoids or the spline gear. The spline gear would be $500-$700 the solenoids would be around $200 or so. They seemed to think it was the spline but said it was unusual for an 03 to have that problem because they was made better.They also said it's not gonna hurt anything but gas mileage driving it and I drive it everyday. (2)The ABS light comes on sometimes-I took it to Autozone and had it scanned and it showed nothing so I have no idea whats going on,the front hubs/wheel bearings with ABS sensors has been replaced along with 1 of the sensor wires.The next thing I would change is the rear hubs(sensors are built in). (3)Sometimes the check engine light comes on,it is showing a P0420 code. I think the gasket between the catalytic converter and manifold needs replaced because I think it is leaking a bit and throwing off the oxygen sensor reading and setting the code-could be wrong. Out of the 3 issues #1 is the one I would fix and will fix if I don't sell the car. I am only selling because I need a truck so feel free to make an offer but don't insult me-$2000 will not buy the car. I will respond to every offer. 1992 marked the production of the one millionth Corvette. It rolled off the assembly line on July 2, 1992 and is currently in the national Corvette Museum. The LT1 engine was introduced as the base engine for Corvette. This new engine produces 300 horserpower and 330 lb-ft of torque. At 452 pounds the LT1 is approximately 20 pounds heavier than the L98 that it replace. It uses a new cooling method, routing the coolant first to the heads and then to the rest of the motor. This allows for higher bore temperatures, less ring friction and more cooling around the spark plug bosses and valve seats. It also includes a lower restriction exhaust system using two catalytic converters and two oxygen sensors, a high compression ratio, computer controlled ignition timing, free-flowing cylinder heads and a new multiport fuel injection system to increase horsepower. An automatic safety shutoff stopped fuel flow above 5,850 RPM to prevent damage. "Acceleration Slip Regulation" (ASR) was a new traction control system that was now standard on all Corvettes, it used timing-retard, throttle adjustments and braking to keep traction. It also has a disable switch above the headlight knob. Improved weather stripping and extra insulation kept the cabin drier and quieter. On the ZR-1 badges were added above the gills on the front fenders. The instrument panel was updated including all black buttons and easier to read instrumentation. The power delay feature added the passenger door to cut power to accessories after the key was removed.
