Description               1988 911 (930) Turbo now running on a European 3.2 engine & transmission.   This is a very special 911 with an incredible look & stance ! It is just stunning as it sits with its wide original Turbo fenders and Turbo tail delete. It always attracts lots of attention from bystanders and Porsche people alike. It was bought by a well known local Porsche restoration specialist & painter, who sold it to me once it was repaired. This car was involved in a rollover at slow speed in early 2008. Insurance totaled the car even though the damage was fairly light. During the rebuilt, the original and “tricked out” Turbo motor and transmission were taken out and re-used into another 930. In its place, was installed a 3.2 engine & transmission from a super clean 1985 European 911. The latter was a southern car (TX & TN) with a last recorded mileage of 120K miles. When pulled out, the motor looked so clean that we think it was freshly looked at / worked on. I cannot show proof of that, but considering the actual performances, and how strongly that engine pulls without missing a beat, I have no reason to believe not to be the case. Furthermore, those 3.2 liter engines are bullet proof and extremely reliable.   Over time, everything was looked over and fixed or replaced and the Turbo tail was removed. The roof was changed for a non-sunroof unit with particular attention to obtain perfect gaps and alignements. Again, the shop that did the work specializes in long hood 911 restorations and has done multiple show winning cars for me for many years. The bumpers and wheels were replaced only by choice and not by need in order to give the car that special Euro look. The car was then used sporadically but regularly having participated in several PCA social events, as well as driven long distance without a single issue. With the exception of the motor & transmission, all the Turbo components are original to the car, including suspensions, fenders, etc.. The car even has excellent working AC, which easily keeps up with Florida high humidity and temperatures. The car starts, idles and pulls strong all the way, shifting is typical 915 Porsche box, brakes are powerful and do not pull in any directions. Lots of fun driving this 911 !   When looking at the car, one would be hard pressed to notice this 911 was ever repaired at any point. All of the gaps & alignments are factory precise. The doors, trunk lid and hood close & latch perfectly. The doors even have the familiar Porsche “ping”.   I recently obtained a rebuilt title from the Florida Dpt of Motor Vehicle after 2 thorough inspections by State employees.  They were amazed the car retained its original wide fenders, by the quality of the paint as well as with the underneath since the car had absolutely NO structural damage. The car’s shell and underbody were absolutely not touched during repairs. All the welding points in the trunk and engine bay areas are factory set. There is no metal waving I could see anywhere under the hoods and by the suspension points. Most of all, the body is laser straight.   Now, there are a few minor details left to be done (dome light bulb, parking brake, etc.) which I will take care of before delivery of the car to its new owner.
